↬ "HUH? REINER IS HERE?" connie cocked his eyebrows up, crossed his arms and slanted his hips to one side. you just bobbed your head as an answer to his question, looking over at him. "psh, i didn't know he was close to them."
"he's not, his friend is," eren says, all eyes now on him after he spoke. "his friend annie is close to petra somehow, and she invited reiner who invited historia."
"i don't want to sound mean but.." jean started, earning the attention of everyone. he seemed worried, but you all gestured for him to say whatever he wanted to tell to you all, "don't you guys think historia is kind of dense for not noticing how nice reiner is treating her? like too nice?"
you all glanced at each other before looking back at jean.
"s—she's a nice girl, i—i'll admit!" jean faltered, his cheeks turning pink and both of his hands raised up as if he was caught. "but still, don't you guys think?"
"dude, his crush on her is so obvious," connie began, placing a hand on jean's shoulder. "i don't think that blond chick is that dense.. or maybe she is, i don't know."
"nobody really knows," sasha said, and everyone agreed.
"well it seems like she doesn't like reiner back but to be honest, we may never know," connie sighed before he pursed out his lips and continued, "maybe she could have a huge secret crush on him but just won't say or do anything because she knows (y/n) and him are engaged."
"that could be a possibility," jean said, crossing his arms and began to ponder with those thoughts.
"let's stop talking about them," eren spoke, earning everyone's gazes and snapping jean out of his thoughts. before anyone there could say anything, eren quickly wrapped his arms around you and carried you in bridal style, shouting, "last one to the water has to go buy us popsicles!"
"what—" jean became puzzled, and watched as eren began running towards the ocean with you in his arms. connie and sasha quickly followed after, carrying armin up on their shoulders with smiles on their faces and laughs leaving their lips. armin was freaking out, he was scared that he was going to fall off and closed his eyes as he was being carried.
jean huffed in frustration, he turned to mikasa— hoping he would be the one to carry her too but she was already running after the others. he cursed under his breath and quickly rushed after the rest of the group.
you and eren reached the ocean first, your arms were wrapped securely around eren's neck when he was sprinting towards the ocean. and once reaching the water, he didn't let you down. instead, he turned around to watch the others rush after you both with smiles and laughs.
your cheeks turned pink once you realized how close his face was to yours, eren looked absolutely stunning up close and you couldn't take your eyes off of him. this man, holding you in his arms, was in love with you and you hadn't thought about giving him a chance?
in the end connie had to go buy everyone popsicles since sasha tripped and the two who were carrying armin fell over. mikasa and jean both ran passed them just as they stood back up. connie was lecturing sasha, who lectured connie back while armin was sitting butt down on the sand as the waves crashed in. eren made the three do a round of rock, paper, scissors and connie ended up losing.
"agh!" connie whined in frustration, he turned to sasha, "this wouldn't have happened if you didn't trip!"
"what? it's your fault for picking rock and not scissors when eren made us play rock, paper, scissors," sasha huffed, crossing her arms and turning her face away from connie.
the rest just chuckled watching the two childishly bicker. you all were still in the water, and the level was reaching towards everyones waistline. you were still in eren's arms as you all continued to giggle, you could feel eren's soft breath on your skin. hearing his soft laugh up close was like breath taker and eren noticed your staring a moment after, and he lifted his eyes down to look at you.
"eren, you can put me down now," you told him, breaking off eye contact with him. eren didn't say anything and placed you back down, his arm still secured around your waist as your foot rested against the sand under the water.
"okay, what should we idiots do now?" jean questioned after sasha and connie had finished their bickering.
"maybe we can all just relax here?" armin suggested.
"i'll go and get my duck floatie," connie said with a grin as he turned around and began to make his way out of the water to retrieve his floatie.
"i'll come with you! and do any of you guys want floaties? i'll go look for some," armin said slowly trailing after connie and looking at the rest of the group.
you raised your hand, along with sasha and mikasa. the other two males shook their heads and armin nodded, turning back around and quickly rushed after connie who was already out of the water. you were with sasha, playing with the water and splashing it to each other.
eren, mikasa and jean watched with smiles on their face, until sasha smirked and began to splash water towards jean.
"sasha! what the hell—" jean huffed, before splashing water back at her. you and sasha began to laugh and you three began to have a water splashing battle. eren and mikasa shortly joined after jean splashed water at eren and you splashed water at mikasa.
connie and armin returned, not just with floaties but with seven water guns. you all stared at the two, connie had a wide smirk on his face while armin seemed quite apprehensive.
"armin and i borrowed these babies from someone who brought them," connie began, walking back over to you all and handing each of you the guns. armin had the three other floaties with him, while connie carried the guns and had his duck floatie around his waist.
"let's pair up into teams!" sasha suggested.
"that's a great idea, can we choose our teams?" eren questioned as connie handed him a water gun.
"since we have an uneven number, there will be two groups of two and one group of three," connie spoke after handing everyone a water gun and armin gave you and the other females the floaties.
"well, i'm teaming up with (y/n)," eren quickly claimed, stepping close to you and snaked his arm around your shoulders and pulled your body close to his.
"okay! armin, sasha and i are a team," connie said, walking over to sasha while dragging armin with him. "mikasa and jean can be the other team, perfectly settled."
jean was satisfied to be in a team with mikasa, he turned to look at her face but she didn't have a reaction at all. he sighed, filling up his water gun and watched as mikasa threw the floatie over her and also filled up her water gun.
eren filled both his and your's water gun while you put your floatie over you. he handed you the water gun with a little smirk forming in the corner of his lips. you thanked him and you began to let your body float in the water.
"dedicate your heart!" you heard connie shout out and the fun began.
everyone began attacking each other with the water gun, laughs filling the air and elated smiles forming on everyones lips. eren mostly protected you from getting shot by jean and mikasa, while you protected eren from sasha, armin and connie.
but sasha and connie were mostly the ones shooting their water gun, while armin was contemplating on which side to shoot and decided to be the one to refill the water gun each time sasha or connie's current water gun would run out with the ocean water.
you all were enjoying your time in the water for half an hour when the host— kenny called everyone over for the big barbecue that was being held. it was nearly 8 and the sun was setting down, and you seven got out of the water with the floaties and water guns, exhausted from all of the action in the water.
sasha was immensely excited to have her hands on the meat that would be cooked in the barbecue, her mouth began to drool while her eyes were shining like clear clean glass. you and mikasa glanced at each other, a small giggle escaping both of your lips as you both stood beside of sasha who was in her happy space.
the males walked behind of you three, carrying all of the floaties and guns in their hands and placing them somewhere for them to dry off.
"thank you everyone for joining us today!" the host, kenny began to speak as every one of the guest gathered around. "i hope you all have been having a great time here, please feel free to eat anything that's on the table!"
everyone cheered and began to dive towards their selection of food. you were getting your own plate full of food along with mikasa by your side, and sasha was putting every single variety of food on her plate. eren was beside of mikasa, glancing at you every so often.
sasha was the first one out of the seven to finish putting food on their plate, she was excited and jumping around. you finished after and began to follow after her, but you realized sasha was about to bump into someone.
"sasha—" you called out, and sasha tilted her head and as she turned around, she had already bumped into the person, in which she dropped the plate of food onto the sand.
"ah!! my food!" sasha cried, her eyes becoming teary and she got on her knees and hands. tears began to stream down her face as she looked down at the food she dropped onto the sand.
the person she bumped into became startled, you examined the person who was a male with blond hair that fell to the side and looking like he has an undercut. his face was red like he was embarrassed and he knelt down beside of sasha.
"i—i'm sorry miss, i didn't see you there," he said, and sasha looked up at him with her tears still falling from her face. "i—if you want, i'll cook more for you as an apology."
"really?!" sasha beamed, wiping the tears away from her face and sat up. the male nodded with a gentle smile on his face as he picked up the food sasha dropped off the ground and onto the plate.
"of course, just follow me," he said and sasha stood up, shortly following after him like a puppy excited to have their meal.
you blinked and watched them leave, mikasa came after you, confused on why you were standing there and eren followed, along with jean. connie and armin were waiting on each other whenever either of them were getting food.
"where's sasha?" jean questioned.
"she just left with someone.. i think a chef, since he said he was going to cook for her.." you answered, turning your head around to look up at jean.
"oh, you mean nicolo? he's the one cooking for everyone here," eren intervened, earning a look from both you and jean. "don't worry, sasha will be fine."
"let's go find somewhere to eat," mikasa said, and you all agreed and began to find a spot to sit and eat your food.
armin and connie shortly followed after you all, chatting about whatever topic they were on about. you smiled when you glanced behind to look at the two, they both were getting along great and you noticed how much armin was smiling when talking to connie.
you all decided to go sit on the mat you laid out earlier, armin and connie were ahead with mikasa and jean following. eren was beside of you and you both were behind of the four, but eren stopped you by gently grabbing your wrist.
your head turned around to look at him and he had a small grin on his face. "follow me," eren muttered as he began to lead you somewhere else away from the others.

eren lead you to a spot farther away from everyone else, it was a spot in between two huge rocks, it had its own little beach and there was already a beach mat laid out with candles lit.
you blushed, turned to eren and noticed that he was blushing as well. he avoided your gaze for a moment, letting go of your wrist to bring it to the back of his head and gently rubbed his nape. you watched as he began to make his way to the mat, sitting down on one side and finally turned around to look at you.
"come sit," eren spoke, placing his plate down and patting the spot beside of him.
you did as you were told, walking over to him and sitting in the spot he patted his hand on. you placed your plate down beside of his, skimming your eyes around the entire scenery.
eren's cheeks were still red and started to speak, "i prepared all of this beforehand." you turned to look at him, his eyes were still avoiding yours but he shortly turned his face to look at you. "i hope this doesn't look weird or anything."
"it's not," you reassured, a wide smile now on your lips. "it's.. actually pretty adorable."
eren smiled at the words of that, "do you really think so?! i'm glad! i wasn't sure if i should really do this, but mikasa kept pestering me about it." he admitted as his cheeks turned even more red, to which you just snickered softly.
"i really do like this eren," you admitted, turning your face towards the ocean.
"i did this because i wanted to spend more time with you," eren began to confess and you looked back at him, your face becoming more heated by his words. he continued, "well.. more time alone with you."
you didn't say anything, instead you just nod your head.
"i hope we can continue doing something like this," eren finished, "we can keep doing stuff like this right? well.. only if you want."
"of course.." you answered, in which made eren smile.
"the fireworks will start soon," eren said, before proceeding, "let's eat! you must be hungry!"
you both began to eat in silence, you both glanced at each other once in a while, sending each other smiles before looking away again. eren didn't know what else to say, and you didn't either.
"oh! wait.. this is actually really fucking good," you blurted once you bit into the mochi that you had on your plate, eren watched as you munched on the dessert happily.
eren smiled, "right? nicolo is an amazing chef, his mochi desserts are one of my favorite foods that he makes," he confesses as his eyes were still kept on you.
you swallowed the mochi, a thrilling smile on your face and you turned to look at eren— who was looking at you still. a gust of wind brushed by, blowing a few strands of your hair into your face. you huffed and turned your head away, brushing your hair out of your face with annoyance.
eren's eyes suddenly widened and he inched close to you, his hand reaching up towards your cheek to hold it and turning it back towards him. you were surprised by the sudden action, his face inched closer but he stopped right when your lips were about to touch.
you both stared deep into each other's eyes, your heart was racing and so was eren's.
"can i kiss you?" eren questioned.
