The Teiko Middle School Basketball Club; an extraordinary team of over 100 members and three consecutive wins. But within this group emerged six players who grew into basketball prodigies, who's combined strength was nearly unbeatable. They came to be known as the Generations of Miracles.

But, there were strange rumors surrounding the Generation of Miracles. Despite being relatively unknown to fans, and lacking a record, there was a seventh member recognized as one of the miracles.

Not only that, but one of the Generation of Miracles was a powerful female player that was known as the 'Triple Threat of the Miracles', known for being a powerful defender, offensive player, and someone who could adapt to any opponent that faced her.

Her name.... is (Y/N) Bashira.

She's said to be the most powerful of the Miracles, and along with the mysterious seventh member's teamwork, they were unrivaled by any other team.

At Seirin High School

Third POV

The first day of high school, a day where all of the new first year students could search for the path the they were meant to take in the traditional club recruitment done by all of the older students.

"Interested in rugby?"

"How about swimming?"

While many students had already gotten many recruitment flyers, there was a group of them that were still trying to get more members to join their team.

"Basketball! Basketball club! Who wants to play some basketball?" A second year with cat like features asked the crowd walking past him while he held up flyers.

"Koganei, you can't be serious with that," another second year named Shun Izuki slightly scolded his classmate.

"How else am I supposed to say it?" Shinji Koganei asked.

Then Izuki formed that look on his face. The face that his fellow teammates always deadpanned at, because it meant that he was about to do what he did best.

"Join the basketball club. Take a shot into our court and help us out," Izuki proudly punned while giving Koganei a thumbs up.

Puns, something that Shun Izuki did best. But it wasn't always something that was viewed as a gift by the others. All that the pun received was a deadpanned look from Koganei.

"It's your jokes that need some help, Izuki. Mitobe, make sure they can hear you!" The cat like second year yelled over to the tallest of the three second years.

A quiet student named Rinnosuke Mitobe. Mitobe gave Koganei a nod, turning back to hand out flyers, but kept his silence like he always did. Koganei let out a small sigh before going back to the task at hand. As he went back to trying to hand out flyers, Koganei didn't notice two figures approaching the trio of second years.

"Excuse me, can you show me where to sign up for the basketball club?" A soft voice asked.

"Oh sure! It's......woah..." Koganei froze as he took in the sight before him.

No one had noticed it yet, but there was not one, but two individuals standing in front of the second years. However, the boy with the light blue hair standing next to his close friend hadn't been noticed by anyone in the crowd of hundreds of people.

On the other hand, Koganei was meant with the big bright (e/c) eyes of a girl who was a few inches taller than he was, wearing her long (h/c) hair down with a first year's uniform with a pair of capris under her skirt.

(Y/N) had gotten quite the looks from many people already due to her height, 5'10 wasn't common amongst girls here. However, that didn't take away from her very beautiful looks.

And it didn't help that the other two second years were completely entranced by the sight before them. Koganei began to malfunction as (Y/N) continued on smiling at him. Her famous heart stopping smile.

"It's, uh.... uh ba ba...." the catlike second year stuttered, unable to form any words.

Luckily, Izuki came to his rescue as he placed a hand on his fellow stunned second year's shoulder as he let out a small nervous laugh, slightly embarrassed for his friend.

"Ahaha... it's right over there," The pun expert directed the two as he pointed to a table a little ways away from them.

Though it was clear that they all thought it was only the girl that they were directing. Still, (Y/N)'s smile only grew as she clapped her hands together in happiness.

"Perfect. Thank you so much!"

And with that, the girl made her way over to the sign up table with her invisible friend as the second year trio tried to reel in what had just happened. Still, they all couldn't help but feel some sort of familiarity towards the girl that had caught their attention.

"That's a first year?! She's so pretty, and tall!" Koganei exclaimed as he turned back towards Izuki.

The punster had to agree with the facts, but still, he couldn't help but think that he had seen her before. Izuki soon put his hand on his chin in thought.

"Yeah, but, doesn't she remind you of someone? I swear, I've seen her before," he voiced as Mitobe nodded in agreement.

Looking back towards the direction where the girl had walked off, Koganei then felt the same familiarity towards her. The same cheerfulness and bubbly personality was like that of a middle schooler they had met that previous year.

It was only when Izuki, Koganei, and Mitobe saw her approach the table that their coach and captain were sitting at that they all realized who this girl was as they all saw Riko's eyes light up. The three looked at each other before turning back towards her with their jaws almost touching the ground.

"(Y/N)?!" Both Izuki and Koganei shouted as Mitobe's expression turned into that of shock as well.

They all couldn't believe how much the girl had grown over the past few months. Back when they had met her, she was a quiet yet cheery third year in middle school, shorter than all of the members of Seirin basketball team.

Now, she had definitely blossomed into a much prettier young girl, her height sky rocketing about four inches since they had last seen her. Plus, she was probably one of Japan's best young players in the sports world, Riko's cousin, (Y/N) Bashira.

"No way! She was way shorter than me last time I saw her," Koganei said in shock as he placed his hands on the sides of his head.

"No kidding, I'd say she's definitely blossomed in both looks and height. Not to say she wasn't cute before, but it's shot up even more now," Izuki added on, making a small pun in the process.

That only earned him a head shake from Mitobe, and a complaint from Koganei. Still, they were happy that their old friend had returned to attend Seirin, and they weren't the only ones either.

With excitement spreading through every part of her body, (Y/N) and the silent Tetsuya Kuroko approached the table where Seirin's coach and team captain had been sitting. The tall girl was soon waving at Riko like crazy with a smile that could light up an abyss.

"Hi, Riko! Hi, Jun!" She greeted loudly, catching both second years off guard for a split second.

However, both of them recognized the cheery voice right away as they saw (Y/N) jogging up to the table. Hyuga had never seen Riko smile as big as she did when she stood up from her seat to give her younger cousin a hug.

The two of them were as close as sisters, and even with their height difference, Riko had no problem jumping onto (Y/N) as the two shared a laugh while giving each other tight embraces.

"Well, look at you, kid," Junpei Hyuga smiled as the two cousins came back to the table where (Y/N) sat down with Kuroko next to her.

No one expect her knew that he was there, however. But still, Kuroko was happy to see her smiling like she did back in middle school. Let's just say, that's a story for another chapter.

"So, how was America? Did you beat some asses at street ball?" Riko began questioning as she handed (Y/N) a form for her to fill out.

Of course, Kuroko's presence hadn't been established, so (Y/N) quickly slipped him a form as he gave her a small grateful smile, which she returned before turning back to the two upperclassman.

"Oh yeah! America was great! Got to see old friends, kick some butts at basketball, and showed people what Japan is all about," she explained excitedly while pumping her fists.

Riko smiled at her little cousin. Before high school had started, (Y/N) had gone into one of her slumps, only this one was probably the worst that she's ever had. Now she was back to her bright old self, and the two upperclassmen couldn't be happier.

"So, you want to join the team as a manager? Or even my co-coach?" Riko began asking, getting slightly more excited by the second, a sight rarely seen from the usually tough coach.

"Well, uh... I was actually wondering if I could apply as a player," (Y/N) revealed a bit nervously as she scratched the back of her head.

That caught both Riko and Hyuga off guard. They both knew her talent of playing basketball, along with many other sports, not to mention she is apart of the Generation of Miracles.

"You want to play on the team?" Hyuga asked to confirmed what the younger girl had said.

This made (Y/N) a little embarrassed as she flinched while putting her hands out in front of her, waving them around wildly. Her cheeks had also turned into a light pink.

"I-I mean, there's nothing that says I can't, right? I can still act as a manager too if you want," she suggested while smiling.

But Riko stopped her right there. Now that she thought about it, (Y/N) was probably someone that the Seirin team needed. She was amazing at adapting to new player's styles, plus she had skills that a lot of young basketball players didn't have. She'd be a crucial asset to the team no matter what position she'd be put in.

"No, actually, that would be a good idea. I mean, considering the skills you've got. So yes! Welcome to the team, Cuz!" Riko smiled as she took (Y/N)'s now filled out application.

Hyuga then leaned over the table to ruffle (Y/N)'s hair as she let out a laugh.

"Welcome to the team, kid. By the way, how tall are you now?" The captain asked as he sat back down.

Hyuga couldn't help but notice that the young girl had really shot up in height, being about 5'6 last time they had seen each other. Now she looked like she was about as tall as he was.

"Oh yeah, Hyuga, stand up next to her," Riko ordered as (Y/N) stood up from her seat, smiling mischievously.

The captain did as he was told as the first year girl did the same. Soon, the second year and first year were standing side by side, barely a centimeter difference between the two.

Hyuga couldn't believe her height, she was as tall as he was. Although, he knew she did come from a tall family, but he didn't think she'd shoot up four inches in just a few months.

The second year's eyes were about to pop out of his skull as (Y/N) laughed at his surprised expression.

"Five foot ten inches. Guess I'm as tall as you are, Jun," she laughed as she took her place by a now standing Kuroko.

"Guess you are. Hey, we'll see you in the gym after school," he told her as she waved back at him while walking off with her invisible friend.

"You got it!"

And with that, the duo disappeared into the crowd of incoming freshman. However, even with her height, (Y/N) could get lost in a crowd rather easily. And with there still being more upperclassmen trying to recruit, it didn't help much.

Luckily, Kuroko knew just what to do. He gently grabbed the girl's hand and placed it onto his shoulder, a gesture that he had done since middle school. (Y/N) couldn't help but smile as she held firm to the boy's shoulder.

"Thanks, Tetsu."

"No problem. Anyway, I'm glad that you'll be able to play on the team," he told her as they continued maneuvering through the crowd.

She hummed excitedly in agreement. And she was the one that was excited about being on the Seirin team.

Back at the table, right after another promising player, a red head named Taiga Kagami, had turned in his application, the second years had all gathered at their designated table. Well, after Koganei was dragged there, of course.

They had been discussing the shock of the amount of promising players entering their team, when Koganei noticed something on the table. A piece of paper.

"Hey, there's one here. You forgot a recruit," the catlike second year said as he picked up the piece of parchment and handed it to Riko.

The coach took the application and studied it to see who she missed. But that was the thing, Riko was sure she had received every application that had come through.

"Uh, let's see. Tetsuya Kuroko. Huh? I was here the whole time, but I don't remember him at all," she mumbled to herself as she studied the paper closely.

That's when she noticed a certain school name written on it. But she had to take a closer look to make sure she wasn't seeing things.

"What's the matter?" Hyuga asked her.

Riko blinked a couple of times, and sure enough, the name of the school was still written clearly on the paper.

"He's.... from the Teiko Basketball Club."

"Wait, the Teiko? You're kidding, no way!"

Hyuga then grabbed the paper from Riko and then peeked at (Y/N)'s application. They were both from the same middle school. And that made Riko even more excited.

"Believe it, he must be from the Generation of Miracles, like (Y/N). He has to be."

That name. Hyuga knew it well. As a matter of fact, anyone into basketball knew the name of those seven prodigies.

"The Generation of.... Wait, he's from that famous team?"

Riko nodded, but then she let out a frustrated groan. If this guy from Teiko, then (Y/N) had to have known him. However, she didn't seem to have known any of the first years coming in.

"Gah! Darn it, why can't I remember that Golden Goose's face?! And that other guy just came back from America. Ooh, these first years could be amazing."

First POV

You know, for the first day of high school, it went by pretty fast. And it turns out that Tetsu and I are in the same class, so we took the chance and sat next to each other. Well, he sits in front of me, and there's this really tall red head in our class too.

Anyway, the day was very exciting and all, but I was more excited to begin basketball and see all of the new players joining. Plus, seeing the second years that I had met before.

I was a little surprised when they didn't recognize me at first, since all that I really thought had changed was my height. But, who knows. It was busy.

Changing into a comfortable t-shirt and some basketball shorts, I met up with Tetsu as we made our way to the gymnasium. I have to say, I know Seirin is a new school, but this place is huge. I couldn't but to be in awe as we walked around.

"You can definitely tell this is a new school, huh?" I voiced out as I kept looking around.

I heard Tetsu hum in agreement as we finally made it to the gym. Turns out there were a lot more first years than I had thought, which is amazing. Including that really tall red head dude.

As I smiled, I couldn't help but feel a sense of familiarity between him and I as we made eye contact briefly. He looked really familiar, but I couldn't put my finger on it.

Well, maybe I'll find out sooner or later as I shrugged to myself. Right now, my mind was on basketball.

Third POV

"Alright! Looks like all of the first years are here!" Koganei announced as the new faces around the gym began to take in their surroundings.

As the second years began getting things ready, it was clear that these first year boys were quite surprised to see not one, but two girls standing around. Riko had been looking down at her clipboard while (Y/N) stood off to the side, catching up with Koganei, Izuki, Tsuchida, and Mitobe since she had gave them a little surprise earlier as they laughed and smiled.

To see a girl of such height and beauty, it was almost too much for some of the boys. Although, they didn't keep their comments to themselves when it came to the brunette second year coach.

"No way, is that girl our coach?"

"She might be. She's cute and all, but if only she had a little more."

Now to the other beauty in their sights. Even though they didn't know that they were in the presence of a basketball legend, boys will be boys.  All that mattered to them in the moment was that a cute first year that stood out from the rest was in the same room as them.

"Who do you think she is? Our manager?"

"Possibly. But holy crap, she's beautiful."

"Ain't that the truth."

Little did these first years know, there was a protective captain listening in on their conversation. And he was a little more than unimpressed. Hyuga was soon behind the first years, punching them in the heads as he glared.

"Hey, you morons. Knock it off."

Just the mere sight of Hyuga's intimidating expression was enough to make anyone want to wet themselves, but the captain didn't have time to scold these first years now. Now, they had Riko to worry about.

Soon, all of the first years had gathered in a group as Riko walked to the front with a smile on her face. Yet some individuals couldn't help but think that there was something else hidden behind her determined and slightly too innocent smile.

"I'm the basketball club's coach, Riko Aida. Welcome," she introduced.

While the hunches of some were correct, there were some first years that were still in shock that the second year girl was their coach.

"Wha?! Well, who's that guy, then?" A boy with brown hair by the name of Koki Furihata asked.

The 'guy' he had been referring to was an older man sitting in a chair off to the side in the gym, holding his cane and smiling contently.

"That's our club advisor, Mr. Takeda," Riko explained as she looked over at the man in question as he gave the youngsters a shaky wave.

While some didn't question anything, especially since (Y/N) had known how extreme her cousin could be when it came to her coaching. The others, however, still couldn't wrap their head around the fact that their upperclassman was their coach.

"Wha?"

"You're kidding."

Oh, but this wasn't even the start of the events coming next. Riko turned back towards the group of newbies with a somewhat of an annoyed face. But she was just getting started.

"Well, now that we're all acquainted with Mr. Takeda, I guess it's time to begin. Lose the shirts," she stated, letting the words sink in for a moment before the first year boys all reacted.

And let's just say, their faces said it all. Well, except for three first years in particular.

"WHAT?! WHY?!"

As the boys began to question the actions of their coach, the single girl in the group realized something. Since she was a player now, (Y/N) figured she had to participate in the same events as the boys did, since she didn't want to get any special treatment.

Seconds later, the tall girl cutely raised her hand to get her cousin's attention.

"Wait, Riko. Do I have to take mine off too since I'll be a player?" She asked innocently.

Silence filled the gym after (Y/N) asked her question. Was this girl too innocent for her own good? Yep, even with being around some of her old teammates, she didn't even get some of the things they said back then. But that was all in the past. For now, at least.

Still, that didn't stop the boys' cheeks from bursting into flames. Even Kuroko had slightly widened eyes and a light pink dusting on his cheeks. This girl, his best friend, he swore.

Now, Riko had gone into protective mode before Hyuga could pounce on anyone. Or even worse, what she could do to them if they dare lay a hand on her precious angel. She quickly shook her head as she gave her not so little cousin a look.

"No! I wouldn't do that to you! Plus, I already know your numbers are through the roof, (Y/N). That's kind of obvious," she told her.

(Y/N) then blushed with embarrassment, but she nodded nonetheless as the boys around her began to remove their shirts. Well, Kuroko had stayed put, but he was glad his friend hadn't taken her shirt off. He had protected her innocence for this long, and he wasn't going to stop now.

Now came the time for Riko to do what she did best. All of the first years, expect for (Y/N), lined up as Riko began making her way down the line, observing their statistics. She then stopped in front of one boy as she saw his numbers.

"You there, your ability to move quick is a bit weak. You can only do fifty side jumps in twenty seconds, am I right? You'll need to do a bit better than that to play on this team," Riko informed him, leaving the boy in shock as he let out an 'okay'.

"You're way too stiff," she continued on.

Ah, this brought back memories for (Y/N) whenever she would watch her uncle as a small child alongside her cousin and siblings. And even when he evaluated her himself.

The famous Kagetora Aida, a sports trainer who had the ability to see a person's own ability in the form of numbers. A trait he passed onto his daughter, and slightly to his niece as well. And it was something Hyuga had to explain to the newbies as (Y/N) stepped in to add on.

"You see, when Riko looks at someone, she can see their stats in numbers. I can do it a little bit, but not as good as she can," the tall girl explained as went back to observing her cousin as the captain nodded in agreement.

"Exactly. I wouldn't expect anything less from the coach of this club," he stated confidently.

Turning his attention back towards the first years, seeing that Riko was almost wrapped up with her analysis. But, she had stopped at the last person, Kagami. She was basically gawking at the tall and muscular first year boy.

"What's the matter?" the redhead asked in a gruff voice.

Riko didn't answer. Instead, she was more floored about the fact the that this boy's numbers were way higher than she expected to see. (Y/N) could see it too, and soon, she was staring at him as well. Much to the dismay of some.

'What is this? All of his numbers are like (Y/N)' s, they're through the roof. These aren't numbers of a first year high school boy. I can't even see his potential. Woah, I've only seen this on (Y/N), so this is nuts. Such raw talent,' Riko thought in amazement.

Until her thoughts were interrupted by Hyuga's voice after he let out a sigh.

"Hey, what're you girls staring at exactly?" He asked in a slightly annoyed tone.

Riko then shook her head before she realized what her fellow second year had said.

"Oh, sorry. Wait... 'girls'? (Y/N), were you...?"

And cue everyone's attention to turn towards the only other girl in the gymnasium. (Y/N) hadn't realized it yet, but she soon snapped out of her trance like state from observing Kagami as she shook her head. Soon, a blush appeared on her face.

"Was I staring? Oops..." she muttered as she tried to hide her flushed face.

At that same moment, everyone in the gym had the exact same thought.

'So cute!'

After her slightly embarrassing moment, a rewarding one for the boys, Riko went back to her observations. However, she hadn't noticed the last of the new first years. And it didn't seem like anyone else did either.

"That's it. You saw them all. Kagami's the last one," Hyuga told the coach.

However, that sounded strange since Riko hadn't come across the other member of the Generation of Miracles. A player who she and the others thought would stick out above the rest.

"Really? Let's see. There anyone here named Kuroko?" She called out to the crowd after looking through her applications once again.

"Oh yeah, he's the other one from Teiko Middle School," Hyuga added on.

Off to the side, where the true Kuroko was standing beside his best friend, (Y/N) arched her eyebrow as she looked down slightly at the light blue haired boy, being as that she was a little taller than him.

"Do they seriously not see you?" She asked in a confused tone.

Kuroko kept his gaze towards the front of the group, but he had always taken those words to heart, whenever (Y/N) said something about his presence. She was probably the one person who could always tell where he was.

"It's okay. I'll just have to make myself known to them," he told her before sending her a small smile.

Hearing, or rather seeing, that no one had come forward, Riko had just assumed that maybe this mysterious player didn't show up, but she looked around the gym once more to make sure. Seeing that Kuroko hadn't appeared from the crowd, Riko decided to let it go. She raised her hand to gain the attention of the team.

"Alright, let's get practice started-"

"Excuse me," a polite and slightly soft spoken voice said.

Standing in front of the female second year, Kuroko raised his hand slightly as he looked Riko straight in the eyes.

"I'm Kuroko," the light haired boy with equally as blue eyes told her.

...

There was complete silence in the gym. That is, until Riko finally screamed from being spooked by the nearly invisible first year. No one expect for (Y/N) had noticed his presence.

"AHH!"

"What?!? How long have you been there?!" Hyuga demanded, but his face showed an equal amount of shock as Riko's reaction.

(Y/N) walked up to the two second years, an eyebrow arched slightly.

"He's been here the whole time, standing next to me," she stated.

...

Again complete silence. None of them had picked up on Kuroko's presence, yet (Y/N) was the only one who did. Guess that's what she gets for training her senses to be slightly heightened when she's in game mode. Soon Hyuga and Riko began bombarding her with questions.

"Wait, you knew he was here the whole time?!?!"

"Remind me, how are you human?!"

"AHH! It's always been like that I guess!" (Y/N) screamed with shock as she threw her arms in the air.

Yet, she found everyone else's reactions slightly comical. Since she had been the only person to ever notice the shadow, it was quite funny to see the jump scare whenever he made an appearance.

"Wait, he's a part of the Generation of Miracles? He couldn't have been a regular," Koganei said, still trying to process what was going on in this exact moment.

"Of course he wasn't. Right, Kuroko?" The captain questioned.

He couldn't have been a part of such a famous team. In fact, this guy didn't even look like he was built to play basketball. But hey, don't judge a book by its cover. And the members of Seirin were just about to find that out.

"I played in all of our games," the light blue haired boy informed them.

"Yeah, I should know. He and I were always on the court at the same time," (Y/N) added on.

Of course a player like (Y/N) would stand out, one reason being she was the only girl out on a court full of sweaty boys, but still. An exceptional player like her would stand out from the rest.

But not Kuroko, and that's what shocked the two second years.

"There. You see... huh?"

"Wha..?"

It took Hyuga and Koganei a few seconds to process their underclassman's words. And then, they both finally realized.

"WAIT, YOU PLAYED IN EVERY SINGLE GAME?!?!?" They both yelled, prompting a flinch from everyone else.

Riko still couldn't believe it. But, maybe there was some hidden potential in his numbers.

"T-Take off your shirt," she stuttered slightly.

While he knew that his other future teammates had to do it, Kuroko was still taken back a little bit. Nonetheless, he complied, and removed his shirt for Riko to examine him, and let's just say, she was even more confused than she was before.

With a few minor drills to go over, as well as some other first day lectures, the school had finally come to an end.

After changing out of her t-shirt and shorts, (Y/N) met up with Kuroko so that they could walk home together, since he didn't live too far away from her. Plus, even if she could defend herself, Kuroko always felt better whenever (Y/N) was within his sights, out of harm's way.

"Well, today was quite interesting, huh, Tetsu? I still can't believe they couldn't notice you during practice. Am I the only one that can, or what?" The tall girl questioned out loud as the duo made their way away from the crowded streets.

While she knew that it happened every time they'd meet someone new, (Y/N) still couldn't figure out how people thought he was invisible. Of course, it had been like that since day one of them meeting each other.

"Yeah, I think so. But I just think it's because you're special, (Y/N)," Kuroko admitted bluntly.

He had always been one to speak the truth and only the truth, and there was major truth behind these words. (Y/N) was always able to read the phantom like an open book sometimes. He even thought she had some ungodly power to even glance in his direction.

But, he knew she was a kind soul, one that should always stay bright and lit, no matter what. And Kuroko wanted to protect that. Especially after what had happened during their final year in middle school.

His words, however, made the poor girl turn slightly pink. She didn't think she was all that special, but who knows. Life had always thrown surprises at her.

"I-I don't know about that, Tetsu. Hmm? Hey, look over there," she suddenly stopped, pointing over to a street court.

There was someone playing basketball over there. A familiar someone. The same redhead that everyone had been so amazed with at practice. He looked like he was practicing his shots.

And once again, (Y/N) felt the same familiarity that she had felt that afternoon. Watching him play, it reminded her of an old friend she had back in America. And he had the same shade of fiery red hair.

"Come on," Kuroko told her, snapping her out of her thoughts.

With the nod of her head, the duo made their way over to the court as Kagami continued shooting baskets. However, (Y/N) noticed something odd. Despite being amazing in practice that afternoon, he didn't seem to be the best at long range shots.

And she was right. Kagami really wasn't the best at those types of baskets. That was why he had to get better. As Kagami jumped up to perform a fadeaway once again, his vision went a little blurry. It was almost like someone was watching him.

Still, the red head didn't think it mattered, so he took the shot. Of course, for the most part, the ball had hit the rim, and then fell off to the side. But instead of hitting the ground, it was caught.

And that was when Kagami had realized that he had company, a duo to be exact. Kuroko had caught the ball as (Y/N) stood beside him. The only girl on their team. And she was no ordinary girl either. She felt familiar to Kagami.

"Where'd you... even come from?" Kagami asked, more directed towards Kuroko.

"Nice to see you."

"Yo!"

Kuroko had just greeted the boy politely while (Y/N) and waved to the red head. These two were weird, yet intriguing.

"What're you two doing?" Kagami questioned once again.

"What're you doing out here all by yourself?" Kuroko countered as he threw the ball back to its owner.

The duo wanted to get more intel on this fellow newbie. There was just something about him that intrigued them both.

"Nothing much. There ain't a lot to do here," the red head answered.

While his tone seemed calm, (Y/N) knew he was on his guard. When you're around guys like that as much as she was, you could read guys like Kagami.

"Is that so?"

It was silent for a second, but (Y/N) could tell that this was going to go somewhere real fast. The bluette and (h/c)ette both gave the red head their full attention before he continued.

"I was in America until my second year of middle school, and I haven't been too impressed with the low standards here since I've been back. I'm not looking to play for kicks and giggles. I'm looking to play a more serious game that really gets me fired up," he began.

That was when the (h/c) haired girl's beautiful (e/c) eyes narrowed. He sounded just like him. That was the same way of thinking. And she didn't like it one bit. However, the cheery girl decided to stay silent as Kagami continued on.

"I've heard of you two, and all about the Generation of Miracles. You were on that team, weren't you?" He asked Kuroko before continuing on.

"I have a pretty good sense about how good others are. Those who have potential to succeed smell a lot different than the rest," Kagami said as he spun the basketball on his finger before throwing it back to Kuroko, who caught while keeping the serious expression on his face.

"But something ain't right with you. Weak should smell weak, but you? You don't smell like nothing. Let me see it instead. Show me. You're from the Generation of Miracles, so give me your best shot," Kagami concluded with a smirk.

Oh yes, Taiga Kagami had just challenged a member of the famous middle school in all of Japan. Still, there was something about her, something about the other member that was there. Kagami knew, he knew from the start, her scent was that of a monster's. If he could, he would've challenged her to a match.

A game that would be unevenly matched. Something in Kagami told him to wait to see what she was like on the court before doing so. Besides, he wanted to see if Kuroko was the real deal or not. And it looked like the feeling was mutual.

"This couldn't be better. I've been waiting to play a game against you," the quiet boy began before taking off his uniform jacket and handing it to (Y/N).

"One and one," Kuroko declared.

A smirk formed on Kagami's face, this is just what he was waiting for.

"Game on."

While she wasn't going to stop this little game from happening, (Y/N) was couldn't help but feel a little uneasy. As she took Kuroko's uniform jacket to hold while he was playing, she leaned down towards him slightly.

"Tetsu, are you sure about this?" She whispered.

"Yeah, you just stay here. It'll be okay," he reassured her while nodding.

And with that, the game against Kagami and Kuroko had begun with the taller of the two dribbling in place as the shorter boy took a defensive stance.

As they played, Kuroko was nothing like what Kagami had thought he'd be. He was supposed to be apart of one of the strongest middle school teams out there, yet he couldn't even defend the ball from being stolen.

However, (Y/N) knew one on one's weren't the blue haired boy's strong suit. In fact, she already knew what the outcome was going to be from the start. And from his playing style, the girl knew exactly who Kagami was to her at that point.

Still, she couldn't help but ponder to herself as she watched Kagami make a layup.

'He's good. Knowing his personality, I can tell he's not going to be happy with the results. Then again, he doesn't know Tetsu's true power when he's not alone,' (Y/N) thought to herself as she smirked into the palm of her hand.

Finally, for what seemed like the nth time, the ball rolled out of bounds as Kuroko failed to retrieve it during the game once again. And just like (Y/N) had predicted, the red head wasn't so happy about what he had just witnessed as a sharp glare formed on his face.

"You've got to be kidding me, dude! Did you turn your ears off?! You must be living in a fantasy world if you think you can beat me! I can't believe you challenged me all cocky like that," Kagami began yelling as he pointed to Kuroko.

The blue haired boy, on the other hand, was taken back slightly by the sudden brashness, and (Y/N) couldn't help but to giggle a little bit at his next words, since she knew what he had been planning from the start.

"Say what? Of course you're stronger than me. I thought I made it crystal clear from the start," Kuroko stated.

But Kagami wasn't having it. Instead, he charged at Kuroko before grabbing him by the collar of his shirt, lifting him off of the ground slightly.

"What the hell was this about? You wanna fight?" The red head challenged.

But Kuroko kept his cool.

"I simply wanted to see how good you were with my own eyes."

...

Seriously? What the hell was up with this guy? How should he even be in basketball? Those were the questions running through Kagami's mind, but he still couldn't grasp what he had just heard. He soon let go of Kuroko, and placed a hand in front of his face.

"What? Man... Guess there's something wrong with me too," he mumbled.

"Your ball?"

The red head looked over to see that Kuroko had thrown his ball back to him. Still he couldn't help but to feel angry over this whole thing.

"Enough. I don't have time for weaklings," he growled.

At this point, (Y/N) had stood up to walk over to her best friend. Plus, she wasn't really a big fan of the red head's attitude, but she kept a neutral expression on her face as she stood in place by Kuroko.

"Let me tell you one last thing. Sorry, but you should quit basketball while you're at it. No matter how much you cover it with nice words, raw talent is a fact of life that you have to accept," Kagami explained rather harshly.

But it was the last sentence that made something in (Y/N) snap slightly. It was rare thing to happen to the normally cheery and fun loving girl.

"You suck, basketball isn't for you."

(Y/N) now had an expression on her face that scared almost everyone who saw it. It wasn't a glare, per say, but something in her eyes shook people to their core. Kuroko just decided to let her do her thing, since he knew she wasn't going to get violent. It just wasn't in her nature unless she had to.

And.... he kind of felt sorry for what was going to be coming Kagami's way. Handing his blazer back to him, (Y/N) took a step forward.

"Hey. Tiger head," she called out, gaining the attention of Kagami, who was still a little hot headed from his previous conversation.

"What'd you just call me-UH!" He yelled out before stopping mid sentence.

The look in her (e/c) eyes, why did he feel goosebumps forming all over his body? It was like he was staring at an angry lioness who was ready pounce. Plus, her whole demeanor had gotten a lot more dangerous as well.

But she remained as cool as a cucumber before she spoke.

"If you want a real challenge, how about you go up against both Tetsu and myself next time. That, for a fact would give you a run for your money. Also, don't judge a book by its cover just yet," she finished, able to maintain eye contact with Kagami.

And honestly, that made him feel tense. She was just this happy and cheerful girl at practice, but now, it was like she was a completely different person.  It was almost like someone the red head once knew. Just like....

And then he realized it, as he ruby eyes went wide. He thought she was familiar.

'If I'm right, I think she said her name was (Y/N), (Y/N) Bashira. Not only is she a miracle, but she's from that famous family too. And I've only seen that look from one other person in my entire life,' Kagami thought to himself.

Well, (Y/N) did have a lot of the same characteristics as his old friend from America; the beautiful shade of her (h/t), (h/c) hair, the brightness in her (e/c) eyes that could go dark in a second, and a passion for basketball that was bigger than anything else.

But still, Kagami didn't want to debate in his mind at this moment. He still wanted to deal with Kuroko.

"Tch... whatever," he muttered under his breath.

"I also don't accept your words."

Kuroko, as well, had enough of Kagami's logic. While he wasn't completely one to get angry and act upon that. Instead, he was just going to do what he did best, he was going to give it to Kagami straight, no sugarcoating.

"First of all, I love basketball personally. I don't share your opinion. I don't care at all who's strong or weak," Kuroko began.

Kagami narrowed his eyes.

"Run that again?" He growled in a low voice.

Kuroko stood in the street light as he kept his poker face. You could say, he was used to something like this, being as that both him and (Y/N) had a friend like that.

"I'm not like you. I suppose, I'm a shadow," the blue haired boy finished.

While the red head didn't understand what the invisible boy had meant, Kagami would soon find out. And would soon get a taste of his own medicine.

The next day, gathered in the gym for practice, Riko decided to hold a practice game between the first years and the second years with the youngsters in yellow practice jerseys, and the older ones in blue.

"What? A practice game?" Furihata asked with worry in his voice.

"We're playing the upperclassmen already?" Another second year with a shaved head named Koichi Kawahara questioned with concern as well.

As they began whispering to each other with worry, (Y/N) was getting very excited for this. She had been itching to play some basketball again, and with her close friends at that. With her big smile on her face,
(Y/N) walked over to Kuroko, who returned her gesture.

"This should be fun, huh? So, are we gonna show them that today?" She asked him in a quiet voice.

"Sure, why not?" He answered her.

Pumping her fist slightly with excitement, (Y/N) held her fist out to Kuroko, a gesture they had done with each other since middle school.

"Sweet," she smiled as she and Kuroko bumped fists.

That small gesture made Kuroko's heart warm. Ever since their experience in middle school, he was so glad that she hadn't changed at all. She was still the kind girl that he had met from day one. And even though she was probably one of the more powerful players out there, (Y/N) really just wanted to have fun while playing the sport she loved.

As everyone got into positions, Kagami got even more fired up. He had a plan to beat these upperclassmen, a plan all on his own.

"There's nothing to be afraid of. It's always better to have stronger opponents," he stated with a confident smirk.

And with that, the game began with Kagami getting the tip off. Running down the court, the red head made the first score for the first years by performing a dunk. And that caught everyone off guard.

"That dunk was incredible," Kawahara let out with his jaw dropped to the ground along with some of the other first years and some of the second years.

And they kept coming, dunk after dunk after dunk. And soon, the first years were taking the lead against the second years with a score of 11 to 8.

"I can't believe these first years are already this strong," Hyuga said as he tried to catch his breath.

"Yeah, but Kagami's doing it all by himself," Koganei added on.

And he wasn't wrong. A majority of the points had come from Kagami making all of those dunks. (Y/N) hadn't even been able to touch the ball, but she was doing a darn good job at guarding Mitobe from making any of his famous hook shots.

When Kuroko had received the ball, it was easily stolen away from him by Izuki. And that didn't sit well with some of his fellow teammates.

"It's him again. Keep it together!" Furihata yelled to Kuroko with slight anger.

At that point, the second years had begun making their own move, blocking Kagami from making any dunks at all. Soon, they pulled ahead with the score being 15-31, in the second years' favor.

Taking a small break after the second years had made another basket, it seemed like some of the first years were starting to give up.

"I've had enough," Furihata complained through breaths.

But that didn't sit well with his fellow teammate. Seconds later, Kagami grabbed Furihata's jersey and yanked him off of the ground slightly. The red head was not about ready to deal with cowards.

"Enough?! What are you talking about?!" He yelled.

As Furihata shuddered with fear, two individuals came up behind Kagami. Kuroko kneed the taller boy in the legs while (Y/N) chopped his neck gently, but hard enough to make him let go of Furihata, and kneel down slightly.

"Would you mind calming down?"

"Take a chill pill, dude."

The other first years thought that these two were crazy at first, with Kagami turning around, a dark aura surrounding him.

"You douche...." he growled, mostly towards Kuroko.

And now, panic set in with the others, except for the only girl on their team. (Y/N) knew the blue haired boy could handle himself, but she would step in if she had to.

"And now... they're fighting," Koganei sighed to Izuki as Kagami began throwing punches at Kuroko, who was dodging them flawlessly.

That was when Izuki noticed something. Something about Kuroko. As the first years tried holding Kagami back, the punning second year decided to share his thoughts.

"How long has he been in?" Izuki asked, referring to Kuroko.

Koganei then looked over to see the light blue haired boy standing on the court. Come to think of it, the cat faced hadn't really noticed Kuroko on the court either.

"You know, I have no idea," he answered the punster.

Even Riko didn't notice that Kuroko was playing either, and she was kind of scolding herself for doing so, since she was the referee after all. And then, she noticed something.

'Hold on, I know they've been on the court the entire time. So why haven't they broken a sweat yet?'

Back on the court, it was time to start the game once again. But this time, things would be a little different. This time, Kuroko and (Y/N) would be able to strut their stuff.

"Excuse me, but can you pass the ball to me?" The phantom asked Fukuda.

At first, the boy was confused, but (Y/N) soon came up to the boy with a sweet smile on her face to reassure him. But somehow, Fukuda thought it had a slightly intimidating aura to it.

"Trust me, we've got a plan," she smiled to him while placing her hand on his shoulder and making an 'okay' sign with the other.

And with that, the sole girl made her way back towards the court. But something was odd in her movements. Instead of guarding Mitobe as much as she was, (Y/N) wasn't as close to the tall second year as she was before. But that quickly changed.

Fukuda took her advice, and passed the ball to Kuroko. But, instead of him grabbing the ball, like a normal player, the ball seemed to have changed trajectory.

And it went straight into (Y/N)'s hands as she quickly made a three pointer.

After making the shot, she was met with high fives and cheers from her teammates. Well, Kagami kind of kept his distance, but he couldn't help but feel impressed. It had also confirmed his suspicions as to who she was to him.

The second years, on the other hand, were shocked as to what had just happened.

"How... how did that get through us?" Hyuga questioned with his jaw agape.

And it didn't stop there, Kuroko continued with his seemingly lightning fast passes, earning the first years more and more points. Finally, they were caught up with the second years.

Soon, (Y/N) saw that look in Kuroko's eyes. They were going to show Seirin what the duo of the miracles was really made of.

Within a split second, (Y/N) dashed away from Mitobe, becoming completely open as Kuroko passed the ball to her. With the basketball in her grasp, (Y/N) sprinted down the court, and soon, she was right at the three point line. But, her posture didn't fit that of a normal shooting position. It looked more like...

"She's not gonna make a dunk from there, is she?" Kawahara asked.

Their question was soon answered. In a quick movement, (Y/N) made a majestic jump from the three point line, gaining great height before slamming the ball into the hoop.

"Amazing, but how does the ball keep getting past us before we can react?" Izuki questioned after witnessing the amazing dunk that had just happened.

"Not only that, but (Y/N) seems to know where the ball's gonna go before it's even been passed," Koganei voiced as well.

"Well, that's expected, considering who she's related to," Hyuga said.

That was very true. (Y/N) belonged to a family that was basically sports royalty, the famous Bashira family, known for their powerful moves and strong passions, especially in the world of volleyball and basketball.

Riko, even though she had seen her cousin play on multiple occasions, couldn't help but feel amazed every time she saw (Y/N) pull off the things that she did on the court.

But, despite that, the coach's attention was drawn more Kuroko. Never before had she seen anyone pass like the way that he did.

'Is he using his lack of presence to pass the ball? Not only that, but (Y/N)'s tracking it seamlessly. Kinda goes to show how much trust they have in each other.'

'So he must be the seventh miracle. The one who excelled at passing. His misdirection allows him to direct his opponent's attention away from him long enough for him to pass the ball without them realizing it. No doubt, (Y/N) had something to do with that. I've seen her do it a few times as well.'

Riko couldn't help but smirk slightly. These first years were going to take Seirin far this year. Soon, thanks to Kuroko's passes and (Y/N)'s quick baskets, the score now came to the first years being at 36, and the second years being at a score of 37.

"I can't believe it. It's down to a one point difference," Furihata awed that they had gotten that far.

But the duo on their team still had one last trick up their sleeve, and they were about to show it off to everyone.

(Y/N) was back to guarding Mitobe, the quiet second year trying to do the same with some difficulty. Kuroko had received the ball and began making a run for it towards their basket. No one had even seen him.

With a smirk on her face, (Y/N) made her move. Mitobe had his full attention on her, but in a split second, when he blinked, she was gone. Shocked, he turned to see her beginning to sprint to the other side of the court along with Kuroko.

"Whoa! She's fast!"

"Bashira managed to catch up to Kuroko within seconds. Go, you two!!"

With the cheers of their teammates reverberating in their ears, Kuroko looked up to his partner in crime.

"You ready?"

(Y/N) looked back to him with her confident smile, nodding excitedly.

"Heck yeah! Let's do this!!" She yelled.

And with that being said, about half court, (Y/N) quickened her pace, to the point where she was already at the free throw line with a matter of about five seconds.

"Wait, what is she-!"

"Come on, Hyuga!"

The second years didn't have enough time to react before the sole female player ran up to the right side of the hoop, jumping away from it, like she was going to be doing a fade away. A fade away without a ball, that is.

But this was apart of their plan. Kuroko soon threw it to Kawahara, before signaling to him to return it to the light blue haired boy in order for him to do his misdirection.

Like lightning, Kawahara passed the ball back to Kuroko, who misdirected it right into (Y/N)'s grasp. A smile formed on her face as she kept the ball in her hands. Hyuga and Izuki tried to guard her from making a shot, but it was even two seconds when she hit the ground that she had made a quick lay up, earning the first years two more points.

It had seemed like time had slowed down, but (Y/N) moved normally. And to think, the second years and Kuroko knew, this wasn't even a fraction of what she was capable of.

"Alright!" She cheered as Kuroko jogged up to her, giving her a quick side hug.

This little stunt, however, left the entire gym speechless. This was the Generation of Miracles. This was the power that they possessed.

"Well, it's no wonder why they call her the 'Triple Threat'," Hyuga commented as he placed his hands on his hips while catching his breath along with the others.

"Yeah... she can pull off some crazy things," Izuki commented.

"No kidding, but that's our girl," Koganei smiled as Mitobe nodded.

Kagami, as he stood off to the side, had his mouth agape. Never had he ever seen a move like that. So, this was the (Y/N) Bashira. Still that same as she was when they were in America. Now, he felt a little guilty.

Thinking back to his time in America, Kagami had played basketball with (Y/N) many times when they were children. And she was good, able to beat him in every game that they played together. By no means, was she weak, and the red head felt bad for the way he had treated her the previous night.

After the game had ended, everyone packed up, and headed home. Well, Kagami went to his usual pit stop, a local favorite called Maji Burger.

While he got stares from the size of his order, a tray full of burgers, the boy was still growing, he needed his nutrients. As the red head went to his usual spot in the restaurant, he spotted a familiar head of long, (h/c) hair sitting with her legs crossed, happily enjoying her drink.

Maybe, he could take this time to apologize to her. Well, that's what he was going to. Besides, it was his usual spot to sit. But, he didn't mind sharing it this one time.

"Hey, Bashira," Kagami called out to the girl.

He still didn't feel like he had the right to call her by her first name, just yet. Only because he wanted to make sure that she remembered him as well. He hoped so, at least.

Turning around in her seat, (Y/N) had the straw of her drink in her mouth cutely, but quickly put it down to smile at the taller boy.

"Hi, Taiga!" She greeted while waving to him to come and sit by her.

The red head couldn't help but feel his cheeks become slightly warm. She certainly wasn't shy about calling people by their first names, was she?

Sitting down next to her, Kagami unwrapped one of his burgers and began eating it. That is, until he felt another pair of eyes on him. Looking across the table, Kagami was met with Kuroko's gaze as the phantom sipped on his drink as well.

"Gah!" The red head choked on his food as (Y/N) looked to him with concern.

"Hello," the light blue haired boy greeted as Kagami swallowed his bite.

He still couldn't believe that this guy could just appear out of nowhere.

"You're like a ghost! What are you even doing here?" Kagami questioned as he scowled slightly.

Kuroko swallowed his drink as (Y/N) leaning on one of her arms while drinking her bubble tea. She didn't think anything was going to happen between the two this time.

"Well, actually, (Y/N) and I were here first. I like the vanilla shakes they serve here," the phantom responded.

"And I like their bubble tea. Plus, they've got some good food here too," the perky girl added on.

Kagami's eyebrow only twitched. He was fine with (Y/N) being there, but having this douche. Yeah..... no.

"Well, go somewhere else, dude," he tried telling Kuroko.

"Don't wanna."

Damn, this guy was stubborn. And Kagami's hot headed-ness wasn't really helping with anything. He still really didn't like Kuroko since they had played each other. He just didn't make any sense.

"If someone sees us here, they'll think we're friends or something," the red head said through gritted teeth.

(Y/N) simply deadpanned, since she had taken that as an insult to both her and Kuroko. Well, she guessed now would be a good time to let the cat out of the bag.

"Says the guy who saw me, an old friend from America, and decided to sit next to me," she finally revealed.

Of course, Kagami was too caught with himself to realized what she had just said.

"That's diff- wait, huh?!?" He yelled slightly, gaining the attention of some other people around them.

(Y/N) let out a laugh before pulling out one of two necklaces that she always wore, revealing a silver ring with flowers engraved on it, and it was very recognizable by Kagami.

"Who else calls you 'Tigerhead'? Plus, I knew it was you from the moment I saw you play basketball," she smiled once again.

Kagami then chuckled to himself quietly as he grabbed the chain of his own necklace. Of course she would know, (Y/N) had always been smart like that. Kuroko knew that too, plus, she had discussed it with him a few times before their meeting at the restaurant.

"Oh yeah! So... do you remember how I would always talk about like how I thought the tattoos on some of the older kids that played with us were cool?" She asked suddenly, recalling a memory from the time she was in America during her youth.

And sure enough, Kagami looked up in thought for a second before nodding, remembering her always gushing about the inked arms and legs of some of the teens that played along with him. Kuroko sat back and listening attentively. He had already knew what she was going to reveal to the red head, and it would interesting to see his reaction.

(Y/N) smiled excitedly as she pulled out her phone while also rolling up the cuffs of her capris slightly. Looking down, Kagami's eyes went wide comically as he caught sight of a tattoo on her left calf when she scooted her chair out.

"You didn't."

"Oh, I did. Four of them," she stated proudly as she held up four fingers.

The red head froze for a second. She was 16, and she already had tattoos?! But, soon, Kagami laughed to himself while shaking his head as (Y/N) began scrolling through her photos.

"Here we go. These two are a bit bigger. But they all mean something for my family," she explained while turning her phone to face the taller boy.

Looking at the screen, Kagami caught sight of a lioness tattoo with three cubs on her shoulder blade, the skin still slightly red from just getting it done. Swiping right, he saw her biggest tattoo, an owl surrounded by flowers on her thigh.

"How?" He finally asked, looking up at her.

Rules were definitely different in America than they were in Japan. Kuroko then thought for a second. Come to think of it, he didn't even ask (Y/N) how she was able to inked up.

"Well, in the area we lived in, you can get tattoos at 16 with a parent's consent. Trust me, it was tough to convince my dad," she explained, placing her phone back in her bag.

Oh, how tough it was to convince her father. She had to prepare this whole speech in order to sway him, but it was easy when she finally explained her reasoning. Plus, her older sister helped out just a little bit as well.

Kuroko, who hadn't really said much, smile slightly as he took another sip of his milkshake. She was back to her normal self now, but back before she went to America, a smile from her became rare. He still remembered the day it all happened.

But that was in the past, and (Y/N) was back smiling now, so he was content. Lost in his thoughts, Kuroko was slightly surprised when he saw Kagami toss him one of his many burgers which he caught.

The red head held one out to (Y/N) as well. She didn't think she was all that hungry, but (Y/N)'s tummy decided to say otherwise.

"You want one? Last I remembered you had a bottomless pit you called a stomach," he commented with a smirk.

The girl couldn't help but laugh at that. She did have a huge appetite, one that could rival all other gluttons out there.

"You are damn right that I do. Thanks," she joked before sincerely thanking Kagami for the burger as she unwrapped it, and took a bite.

Kuroko, well, he was still a little loss as to why this stubborn hot head had given him some of his food.

"Look, I don't like guys who suck. But, you've earned yourself one of those for now," Kagami said to the phantom.

While eating her burger, (Y/N) felt her heart bursting with happiness. It took her back to the good old times, when the same thing happened with a familiar someone. How she wished would things would go back to how they were. But, times had changed, and both she and Kuroko knew it.

Kuroko felt the same way, and it made him happy as well.

"Thank you."

"Not a friend, huh?" The girl teased with a slight sly expression.

"Yep, you haven't changed a bit," Kagami retorted while nudging her.

After finishing their meal and catching up a bit more, the Seirin trio began their trek back home. But something was going through Kagami's mind. Something about these prodigies he had heard so much about. Well, he had probably two of the miracles with him, and the strongest one out of all of them at that.

"So, exactly how strong are the Generation of Miracles? If I played against them now, how would I stack up against them?" The red head questioned the two.

Staying silent for a moment, both Kuroko and (Y/N) gave each other a look before the light blue haired boy answered him.

"They would destroy you."

Not what Kagami was expecting at all. And the little phantom was so blunt at that. Kagami gave him a quick glare before turning to his old friend to ask for her advice.

"C'mon, dude. Did you have to put it like that? Help me out here, (Y/N). What do you think?" He asked her.

(Y/N) simply deadpanned once again, being as that this stubborn basketball freak didn't believe a word her friend was saying. She narrowed her eyes before arching an eyebrow.

"Okay, do you want me to tell you the truth or sugarcoat everything? Honestly, right now, you wouldn't stand a chance. Even what you saw today, that isn't even close to what we can do as a whole," (Y/N) explained with Kuroko picking up where she left off.

"Those five prodigies went on to play for their own big name high schools. One of those schools will eventually stand above the rest."

Usually, after hearing something like that, a normal player would just say that there would be no chance at winning. It was what the two Miracles in the trio had seen. But Kagami wasn't exactly what you call a 'normal person'. Instead, he began laughing slightly, causing the two to give him a look of confusion.

"That's great. I'm getting all fired up. I've decided. I'm gonna be Japan's best player. I'll show them all up," the red head smirked.

Again, illogical thinking done by Taiga Kagami. And the two of them had to give it to him straight.

"That's unlikely," both Kuroko and (Y/N) said.

"Hey!"

But before Kagami could protest any further, Kuroko began speaking.

"I don't know if you have talent or not. But from what we've seen, you wouldn't be able to stand at their feet. You can't do it alone. I've also decided. I'm only a shadow. But as the light grows brighter, it accentuates the darkness."

And with that, at the stop light, waiting to walk, Kuroko turned towards Kagami with a confident expression.

"I will be the shadow to your light, and make you the best player in Japan," the phantom declared.

(Y/N) smiled proudly, since she had heard this speech before by the blue haired boy. He had made it to her, though it may not have been the best circumstances.

Stunned by his words for a split second, Kagami gave the phantom seventh man a smirk.

"Yeah? Good luck with that," he stated stubbornly.

As the light turned green, the trio began walking across the street, and as they did so, (Y/N) decided to make her own declaration to Kagami.

"I suppose," she started out with a dramatic sigh, gaining the boys' attention.

She then looked to them with a spark in her eye. A spark that would only grow bigger as time went on.

"If you're gonna beat the Generation of Miracles, then you'll need the help of someone who knows them like the back of her hand."
