My name is Kashima Ryuuichi and this is my brother Kotarou, im 16 in my 3rd year of middle school and Kotarou is 3 we currently are orphans considering our parents tragic death on a plane about 2 weeks ago.
They were free souls and i din't want to rid them of their freedom but i just wanted what was best for my brother as he never got actually parents son bonding time with them.
A few days after our parents and all the passenger's funeral the chairlady of monorimiya academy accepted the offer to be our legal guardian. her secretary Saikawa-san was the one who had told us about the chairlady's decision.
Fast forward a week
Kotarou and I had been wondering what morinomiya academy was like and then Here we are walking on the grounds of the academy.
"Whoa what a large academy and the decor is nice too!" I said to my self, while walking i was looking left and right i noticed my hand was being held back it was Kotarou who stopped walking
"Kotarou are you tired? Do you want me to carry you?"
Kotarou gave me a small nod that i dint know which one he answered
"Which one?" I thought to myself
I carried Kotarou while we walked to the Chairlady's office
After about a few minutes of walking we found her office i knocked on the door and from inside i heard a voice who told us to come in, the voice was that of a head master strict, loud and a little terrifying. I walked inside and saw an old lady with huge lumps of hair and Saikawa-san her secretary. I greeted her
"Excuse me ma'am"
She immediately pointed out that i am late and asked me the reason for me tardiness
"You are late 5 minutes late to be precise not a great first impression but i would like to hear your reasons for your 'First day situation' here"
"I am very sorry ma'am we had to take the train from our apartment and i had woken up a bit late than i had planned to My apologizes!" I said while bowing down
"Well since it is your first day i will forgive you" The chairlady stated
I had sighed my releif until she said
"You are here now to stay with me at my residence about your apartment i will take on the paperwork" she said while Assuring me to not worry about anything
"But... Everyone in this world works for their meals therefore i want you to be the first member of the babysitting club in this academy you will spend your break and lunch time at the daycare, Do you understand?" She said with a strict tone making me flinch in my place.
"Yes ma'am! Thankyou very much" I said
"Saikawa please escort them to the daycare i have some paperwork to attend to" the chairlady said to her secretary
"With pleasure" Saikawa said
"Ryuuichi-Sama Kotarou-Sama please follow me"
Saikawa opened the door while telling us to leave the room
"I cannot drive you there so allow me to carry you Ryuuchi-Sama"
"Eh?!" I exclaimed
"I was just kidding please follow me"
Saikawa said
While we were on our way i was curious why the chairlady would want to adopt us, i thought she already had enough on her plate with her grandchildren or children. So i asked Saikawa about their where abouts
"Um... Saikawa-san does Obaa-san have any children or grandchildren?" I asked in a hesitant tone
"Unfortunately no she had lost her only Son in the same accident that your parents were in... And she does not have grandchildren to her son not wanting any children" saikawa said in a more softer tone then before
"Oh im sorry to hear" i said while looking at the floor
Kotarou, Me and Saikawa-san finally reached the daycare. The walk was quite long but im not suprised because the academy is huge.
"Here is the school daycare i am very sorry to have to burden you with this" Saikawa said
"Ofcourse not! Im very happy to have this opportunity and i will try my best!"
I said with a small blush of greatfulness.
Saikawa looked away and took out a black handkerchief to wipe a tear from his eye
"Eh?"
"Excuse me you are too kind"
I just gave him an awkward smile and he continued "I trust you know the current situation with that being said i must excuse myself for the time being the chairlady may need my assistance" saikawa said while walking away
I entered the clubroom and saw 5 kids and a pink haired man who was snoring and with 1 kid resting with him. I said hello to the kids and introduced ourselves
"Hi there we're new to this club from today we will be your new friends, is that your babysitter?" I asked while looking at the man
The kids ran to the man and hid at his right while they peeked and keep their distance from me. The black haired of them decides to slap the man to wake him up
Ow... That hurt Taka, "is there something you wanted to do?" but the realizes that i was standing there and greeted me
"Oh.. Its you your the new kid am i right? Name's Usaida you can call me Usaida, nice to meet you...?" Usaida said while offering his hand
"Oh... Ryuuichi Kashima its a pleasure to meet you Usaida-san" i say while Shaking his hand
"Man you are a lifesaver you know that? I've been working my butt of the whole day until you came"
"I just saw you sleeping"i thought to myself while i gave him a slight chuckle and an awkward smile
After Me and Usaida Introduced ourselves we decided to introduced the kids to each other
"So this is Taka, Kirin, Takuma and Kazuma and Midori" Usaida introduced the kids 1 by 1
"This is Kotarou, Ora Kotarou introduce yourself" i say while im putting Kotarou down
"Okay so you'll be the monster! We are here to defeat you" Taka says while pointing his toy sword at Kotarou
"Hey... I want to play too why dont i be the monster 'Roar'"i let out a small roar
Not even 3seconds later the kids all start attacking me
Kotarou had his almost deadpan face and tried to save me, it was adorable but i just said that i am fine and he should just read a book which he agreed to
After a few hours Usaida-san had to leave because he did not get paid for overtime work and left me to babysit thr kids. Not that i mind though but i din't know that taking care of this many kids was so tiring
Soon the all of the teachers went to pick up their kids until there was only Taka and Kotarou left at the daycare
"Phew almost all the kids are picked up only Taka left Kamitani sensei sure is a busy wome-" i was suprised to hear the door being opened and i looked to see a tall boy, with almost slit eyes, green irises.
"Oi Taka its time to go home" his voice is strong and powerful.
"Ah..." I stuttered.
"Hm? Who are you?" He said as his green eyes fell on me starring me down like a falcon.
"Ah Kashima Ryuuichi 3rd year im new to the academy and will be helping out in the daycare Nice to meet you" i said and bowed my respect.
"Oh.. Our class today got informed of a new student will be joining us I suppose it is you.. Well Im Kamitani Hayato nice to meet you too" He said
'Kamitani's Pov'
"Seems like the new kid huh?" Kamitani said in his mind and then he did not put anymore thought to it.
'Back to Ryuuichi's POV'
I saw Taka running towards Kamitani and said
"Nii-Chan i dont want to go home yet im gonna play with Ryuu Nii-Chan more"
"Were going home now" Kamitani glared at Taka, his face darkening turning his expression to a rather terrifying one.
"No i dont want to i still want to play with Ry-"
Bonk
I flinched when I saw Taka's eyes start to water and then he bursted out crying while kicking kamitani's leg calling him names. Or to be more precise 'Aho'
Hayato grabs Taka's things and picks him up then says goodbye to me
"Kashima you should look after your brother now, he's over there Alone. A bit sad to look at" Kamitani said while holding crying Taka who was thrashing in his hold.
"Oh Yeah got it" i said in realization that i din't spend the whole day with Kotarou.
"Well, see you tomorrow at Class" he said and relf the room.
"See you.."
He seems like a nice guy despite his emotionless face
I said to my self while smiling
I walked to Kotarou who was reading his book alone
"Im sorry Kotarou next time I'll read you a bo-" as i was about to pat Kotarou's head i saw him faint and lie his on my lap his face was burning red and immediately i went outside the academy to look for help Kamitani was still at the school gates
"Kamitani!" I exclaimed while holding Kotarou who was wrapped in my jacket
"Hm?"
"Please guide me to the nearest Clinic, Kotarou has a fever i don't know why"
"Understood please wait" Kamitani runs inside the academy
Kamitani's POV
"Oi old hag watch Taka for a few minutes" i run to my mothers class and leave Taka and my bag there. I bolted out of there to meet Ryuuichi
"Lets go" i asked while running pass Ryuuichi.
We ran and ran to the nearest Clinic when looking back i could see the worry in his eyes such a caring person i thought to my self
As we were approaching the Clinic
Ryuuichi Thanked me And i told him i had to go back home, He bowed and i went back
I din't thought of much then but was still a little awed by what i saw in his eyes
Back to Ryuuichi's POV
Kotarou had his check up and the doctor explained to me that he just had stress from the sudden change of environment
"He is fine now but he just needs some rest, you should call your parents to come pick you 2 up"
I thanked the doctor as i went outside
I pulled out my phone to call my mom when.. "Oh.. Their not coming back" i said to myself while looking at my mother's number
Tears were fast to break out and drop on to my phone I broke down then and there. When obaa-san showed up and pat my head, I looked up to her and saw that she din't have that usual strict look on her face rather a look of pure sympathy and grief.
"My my you finally cried, tah how can it be help you are both still very young"
Obaa-san said while rubbing her hands on my head and hair
"Obaa-san.." i said while sobbing
She sighed and said
"Listen kid those who left us will never comeback but that does not mean you grief alone!"
"Find your own happiness for your future got it?"
"Now go back to your brother he needs you" she said while giving me a small smile
I thanked and bowed to her then went back inside the Clinic just in time the nurse got out from Kotarou's room with him Crying
"Oh your just in time your brother is looking for you since he woke up and was crying, wanting to see you" the nurse said with a smile as she handed Kotarou to me
I looked at his violet eyes, with tears dripping from them "Idiot, why dint you call me? you endured it all until you got a fever" I said while my tears start to form i hugged Kotarou.
Kotarou, if you already can accept your situation i hope we could cry together for our parents. Just know that i will protect you with my life and i wont do otherwise. Cry all you want Kotarou, they're not coming.. back but i'll always.. Come back to you.
