Something heavy and warm crawled onto my chest. When I raised my head to check what it was, I felt a lick on my hand.

"Hello to you too, Mochi." She purred as she snuggled closer to my chest. "Do you know what time is it?" She meowed in response.

I sat up, fixing Mochi so she'll lay perfectly on my lap. I looked around my apartment, and when I realised I was alone, I sighed softly. Why was I hoping that he would have stayed? Hmm? Something called my eye. There was note taped on the table.

The letter was written in all caps and the end of it, there was a small doodle of him holding up a thumbs up. I giggled at the cute drawing and rolled my eyes. Oh, Hawks. Leave it to you to make good bye letters be all cute. The sun was going down and I went out to the balcony, trying to get the final sunlight of the day. My phone was chiming in my pocket. It was a FaceTime call from my dad. (a/n: gonna italicise ur dad's quotes cause he's on FT, not in person)

"Hi petal."

"Hi dad." It was really good to hear his voice. And to see him. Then guilt washed over me when I realised that I haven't called him in weeks now.

"Soooooooo."

"So?" Dad laughed while I heard sizzling in the background. "Dad, are you making the house plants hold your phone while you're cooking?"

He nodded. "Why else was I given this quirk?" I giggled softly and shook my head. "Anyway, my judgy daughter, how's the hero duties?"

I puffed out my cheeks and blew out the air. "They're okay. I've been on one mission so far, but other than that, it's just small hero duties. The paper work sucks though."

"That's what your mom always complained about," he turned around to get something from the counter then turned back around. "She would always wait until the last minute to do it."

Dad and I are the ones who are the most comfortable talking about mom. B/N [brother's name] is the one that still has trouble talking about her. I couldn't blame him though. He was only twelve and didn't like the idea of mom being a hero. He was proud of her, don't get me wrong, but he just didn't want to see her getting hurt. When B/N found out that I was going to U.A. and was accepted into the hero course, he tried to convince me to switch out of it. And when I became a Pro Hero, he was mad at me and we didn't talk for a couple of weeks. Even though he was so against of me being a hero, B/N still applied and got accepted into the hero course at U.A. But I didn't hear that from him. I heard it from dad.

"How's B/N?"

Dad sighed and gave me that smile. The one where shows that he's worried, but doesn't want to pry. "He's okay. Sprout is doing amazing at school. One of the top students, but he doesn't talk about anything else."

"He doesn't talk about friends?"

In a second, dad perked up. "Actually, he has! He got really close to two boys in his class. I've met them and I think they're amazing students. And will be amazing heroes. All three of them."

"Are you talking to Y/N?"

Dad moved out of view. B/N was standing behind the island counter, wearing his uniform and backpack. When he saw me in the phone, he walked up to it.

"Dad, really? Making the plant hold up your phone?"

I couldn't help but laugh at his monotone expression and voice.

"Are my children really judging me?"

"Yes." "Yeah."

Dad made the plant flick B/N's forehead. "You have the same quirk as me. You have no place to judge."

B/N ignored him. "You."

"What about me?"

"Why were you photographed next to Hawks?"

"Probably because we're both heroes? And we live in the same city? And it was bound to happen sooner or later?"

B/N looked at me in an accusing way. It was as if I told him something that he didn't want to hear at all. "I don't like him."

"You don't like any of the top ranked heroes," dad corrected him.

"I like All Might and Ryukyu," B/N said in a matter-of-fact voice. "All the other ones are too flashy and only care about ranking their ranking. They don't really care about being a hero."

I tried to stifle my laughter. "You sound so much like Aizawa, B/N. Don't know if that's something I should be worried about or not."

He rolled his eyes. "Whatever. Are you taking care of yourself? Have you gotten hurt? You know you can always quit, right?"

"I am, all heroes get hurt every once in awhile, and I know, but I won't," I said all in one breath, answering each of his questions.

"Dad! You're burning the food!"

And on cue, the automatic fan on the oven turned on and saw dad move to the stove in a hurry. Dad and B/N began 'arguing' with B/N saying that he'll order pizza while dad telling him to not even dare. I just got flashbacks to all the times dad would get distracted while cooking which results in dinner being ruined; and mom saving the day by bringing us fast food. Dad and B/N kept on going back, forgetting that I was still on FT. Finally, dad apologised for the commotion and B/N ordering pizza in background. We ended up talking for a few more minutes and finally ended the FT call when my doorbell rang. I tip toed a bit and look through the peephole and saw that it was a food deliver man.

"Hello! I am here to deliver your food!" The man said happily. His head was golden retriever and I couldn't help but stare at him.

Oh my god. He is adorable!

"I have an order for Y/N? Are you Y/N?!"

I smiled big, loving his enthusiasm so much. "I am."

"Yay! Okay! Here, here," he handed me four bags of food.

I said while looking at the bags confusingly, "but I didn't place an order. There must a mistake."

He shook his head vigorously. "Nope. No mistake! A very nice man ordered and paid for the food for a very nice Y/N and told me to deliver the food and note to Y/N!"

"Note?" I looked around the bags, but I couldn't find the note.

"Ah! Yes! Your note!" He lifted his hat and right under it was a folded note. "I forgot that I placed it there for safekeeping. Here is your note!" He blinked a few times before saying, "I don't think you can get the note."

This is the cutest interaction I've ever had with a delivery person. "You can just place inside one of the bags."

He did just that. With one final salute, he said goodbye and ran down the hall the down the stairs. I closed the door behind me with my leg and went to the kitchen, placing the bags on the counter. I took all the food containers out of the bags before reading the letter.

Actually, I 100% thought that I had to make dinner tonight. I looked around the counter and looked at all the food that Haws ordered. It was a lot, enough to last me for a whole week. Need to take some to Aimi tomorrow. And I gotta thank Hawks, I guess. I playfully rolled my eyes and smiled. Unknowingly, Hawks ordered one of my favourite foods and that was the first items that I ate.

It was already 1am and I was falling asleep while watching an episode of Schitt's Creek. I paused the show and closed my laptop, placing it at the foot of my bed. The air was chilly tonight, so I pulled the covers over my body and making sure to not wake up the already sleeping Mochi. As I finally drifted off, my mind finally registered what the first note said.

Date?! This wasn't a date!

The lieutenant bowed, "thank you for your help catching these criminal. We've been tracking them for weeks now."

"It's no problem! Glad I could help!"

The other officers were putting the criminals inside the specially made trucks, the ones where nullify quirks. A lot of people were gathering us and I started to feel uncomfortable since I was right in the centre. I said a quick goodbye and thank you to everyone and started to leave the are, but, of course, that wasn't going to be easy.

"Someone stop them please!"

Wonder if this will work. I always wanted to try it. Before the perp could even get past us, I stocked my foot out, hoping that they would trip. And they did. Holy shit. It worked! I tried to hide my giddy mood while apprehending him. The lieutenant told one of the officers to get him. When he got handcuffed, I picked up the purse that he stole.

"Thank you!" The lady was hunched over, trying to catch her breath. "I was...I was chasing him down for five blocks and he...and he wouldn't stop."

Her voice sounded familiar, but I couldn't pinpoint it. "You're welcome. The officer checked his pockets, so he didn't steal anything. Here's your purse."

She finally looked up and she saw me, her cheeks blushed and my eyes widen in realisation. It's the same girl that Hawks was with from a couple of weeks ago. Fuck. What was her name? It began with an S, but that's all I know. She must have realised how I was because a smile started to form on her lips. Before she could say anything, I said my thank yous and goodbyes for the second time and hurried out of the area. But she started to follow me.

"Please wait," she pleaded. "I want to talk to you."

I stopped reluctantly and waited for her to catch up to me.

"Let's," she took a couple of deep breaths, "let's go have lunch. It'll be my treat."

"I'm sorry," I gave a her a small smile, "but I'm on the job right now and..."

She cut me off. "Heroes need to eat too!"

Is she following Fat Gum's philosophy too? "I guess you're right."

She grabbed my hand and dragged me to a restaurant that was nearby. That's when I remembered her name. Sara! The girl with a water quirk like Kaito! Once we got inside the restaurant, Sara did all the talking and asked them for an outside table. I felt so out of place just standing there, in my hero costume, waiting to get seated. My cheeks were started to heat up and I could feel my hands getting clammy from the staring. I flinched when I felt a hand on my shoulder, but when I saw that it was Sara, I calmed down a bit. She grabbed my hand again and was pulling me towards the outside seating area.

"I've had dinner with heroes before, so I know that most of you like sitting outside." Sara pulled out my chair and waited for me to sit down before sitting down. "You need to be outside in case an emergency happens and you need to leave in a hurry."

I rubbed my hands on my costume, trying to rub away the sweat. "Yeah. That's the reason."

"So, Y/..."

"H/N!" I quickly corrected her. "It's not that."

Sara looked guilty. "I'm sorry. I should have known your hero name."

I shook my head. "No, no. It's okay! I'm not that well known, so I'm not upset or anything."

The waiter came by with our menus and asked what we would like to drink. I just ordered a water while Sara ordered a complicated alcoholic drink. After he left, we sat in an uncomfortable silence. Well, uncomfortable for me. I tried to read over the menu, but I just couldn't concentrate on it.

"So," Sara finally said. I put my menu down while she kept reading hers. "How long have you know Hawks?"

"Ummm," I had to think about it for a minute, "well, I've known of him since I was still in school. We met unofficially about a year or so ago, and officially about two-ish months ago." That makes sense, right?

She peeked over her menu. "A year ago?"

"Yeah," I nodded. "I first saw him in person during the Hero Billboard event. But we didn't talk until the hero party."

"Oh!" Sara must have realised something, but she didn't say anything else about it. "I was actually Hawks's assistant during that time. I left after he encouraged me and helped me get my current job of being a model. If it wasn't for him, I'll probably still be stuck in that boring, desk job."

"You didn't like the job?"

Sara put her menu down and shook her head while smiling. "I loved the view," her smile had a devious meaning and I knew what she meant. "And the pay was amazing, but the stress was awful. So much paperwork and meetings and stuff. I just couldn't handle it anymore."

I wonder if Aimi feels the same way. The waiter brought us our drinks and took our order. After writing it down, he got menus and left. Sara stirred the straw around and took a sip of her drink.

"Every once a while, Hawks and I meet up to grab lunch together. Might have hated the job," she admitted, "but I never hated him. In fact, I was in love with him."
