EUNBYEOL HATES THEM. SHE HATES THE three girls that she shares her room with with a passion. She and Jiwoo walk to English quietly. They have no words to say to each other.

"Jiwoo-yah, we can talk to Miss Chang and convince her to give you a new plant," Eunbyeol tries to make small talk, unable to meet her friend in the eye. "I'm sure she will say yes if we tell her the situation,"

"Just leave it, Eunbyeol. It's over and done now," Jiwoo sighs, pushing the classroom door open. "I don't think she will, no matter how much we try to convince her,"

Eunbyeol nods but she can't help herself to frown whenever she looks at Jiwoo. She will get them back. She will.

English is a language she didn't even know she would be learning. They didn't teach that back at home. They had the usual Korean Language and Literature lessons with basic maths and science. English was a luxury.

The spent the hour and half getting to know the alphabet and different types of verbs. As much as Eunbyeol was good at picking things up quickly, she could tell that English was going to be hard.

Lunch came after English. Eunbyeol tried to make conversation with the usually talkative Jiwoo but the loud girl wouldn't say anything. Eunbyeol hated the quiet Jiwoo even more than the three girls that she shares a room with. Jiwoo isn't a quiet person. She's talkative and loud and always had a positive attitude.

Archery is an extracurricular subject that Eunbyeol chose on Saturday along with horseback riding, martial arts and music. Although Jiwoo also had the same extracurriculars, they had them at completely different times. Eunbyeol has archery on Monday afternoon while Jiwoo has it on Wednesday afternoon when Eunbyeol has martial arts.

Jiwoo heads on her way to martial arts first, leaving Eunbyeol in the lunch area by herself. She looks around and makes eye contact with Yeseul, Mirae and Seohee. Anger builds up in her once again. She scoffs to herself before focusing her attention back on her food. She can't let them get to her. She has to be better than them.

Archery is something she has had little experience with, well, not archery per se. She and Soobin had made those makeshift catapults often when they played together. She had the best aim but Soobin's always went farther. Archery was the same aspect in her mind.

She reluctantly makes her way to the archery court, situated a little farther on the east side of the school, just feet away from the horse sheds and tracks. The teacher asks the ten students in the archery class at the moment to get changed into the archery uniform, informing them all that they have three minutes and all the girls rush to the changing rooms. The uniforms are simple. A scarlet coloured polo shirt with a matching pleated skirt. A black cross body armour covers one shoulder. Sports shoes are also provided available in all different sizes.

"Welcome to archery, ladies. Why they offer archery for budding Lady-Royals, I do not know so let's play well, okay?" the teacher says, guiding the girls to the archery court. "But what I do know is that one of you will be given the chance to open the New Year's Gala Event so show me your best work,"

"Who's going to choose the person?" a girl asks from the back of the small huddle.

"The horse next door," the teacher laughs, hoping to make the girls stifle giggle too but it becomes awkwardly quiet in the room. "Well, of course, me. Let's just start,"

First lesson of Archery is spent on learning the rules of the sport and how to correctly hold the bow with the hands. It was tiring. The bow was extremely heavy but that was the best lesson Eunbyeol has had all day.

As soon as the lesson ends, she hurries to her dorm room to get washed before the ballroom lesson starts. Students from other extracurricular lessons like martial arts and ballet are also running to get to the bathroom. Eunbyeol is the first one in from her room. She strips off her uniform and jumps into the cubicle, washing the sweat away from her body. She gets out and changes into her uniform once again. She waits around her room for Jiwoo to do her stuff in the bathroom.

She looks around the room to see the girls' plant pots on their bed side table. How good it would feel if I just dropped it, Eunbyeol thinks to herself, trying to come up with a plan to mess with them. After the fiasco earlier, Jiwoo and Eunbyeol had stormed out, hoping that the three girls would clean up the room like Eunbyeol had threatened them and to her surprise, they had. It was almost spotless when she came back to the room after archery.

She had hid her plant in the unused cupboard in their bathroom but she knew that she has to move it because it's only time before they find it. She knows that they won't do anything to it now but with what she has planned, she could guess what they would possibly do.

Jiwoo comes out the bathroom with a smile plastered across her face. She lends a hand to Eunbyeol to pull her up from her bed before linking their arms together. Eunbyeol flashes a smile in her direction. That's the Jiwoo that Eunbyeol has grown to like. They walk to the ballroom together, exchanging talks about how their extracurricular lessons are.

The ballroom is an immense size. Eunbyeol feels like an ant in it. It's beautifully huge. Their Headmistress stands at the middle of it, holding a clipboard in hand. She looks even more beautiful today than she did on the induction day. She wears an emerald green jacket dress with gold buttons and gold jewellery. Her boots are thigh highs in a dark green-almost black colour. Her long hair is pinned back against her head, framing her small face.

"Honestly speaking, if the word perfect was a person, Headmistress Hwang would be it," Jiwoo whispers to Eunbyeol as they take small steps to be in their teacher's vicinity.

Eunbyeol can't do anything but agree. Headmistress Hwang Seojin was utterly and undeniably perfect.

"Welcome to your first dancing lesson, ladies. I will be teaching you all the dancing lessons that you have," she begins, walking around the space to straighten everyone in a line. "There's three different types that we will be covering over the year. Ballroom, ballet and the Ceremonial dance. All dances covered are done in partners but until I have taught you the basics, you will not be dancing in pairs,"

"By pairs, do you mean with the boys?" Seohee asks the teacher.

"Yes and the next time you want to ask a question, I ask that you put your hand up," Headmistress Hwang says, her lips turning into a scowl that doesn't match her beauty. "Any other questions before I start?"

"We were told in archery that there is a New Year's Gala? Could you tell us more about it please?" a girl from the archery lesson asks, her voice trying its best not to break mid-sentence.

"Ah yes. The New Year's Gala. Probably the most grandest event this school hosts," Hwang begins, her eyes gleaming with something that Eunbyeol has never seen before. "This the chance for you to meet the Princess that one of you would become Lady-Royal for,"

Headmistress Hwang explains that two students, one from the boys and one from the girls, will open the event by firing something into the air. A pair will be chosen to open the ceremony with the ceremonial dance. The Princess and Prince will greet each student individually, have time to properly get to know them all.

The student listen on earnestly, taking mental notes of everything they hear. Eunbyeol wants to win anything that will give her a chance to shine. She came to the school to win. She will not go back home as a loser.

Dance lesson finishes after seven although it was supposed to be until six-thirty. All the girls had to stay behind to clean the massive hall. Cleaning done, the girls make their way back to their dorm rooms. Dinner isn't until eight.

"Ugh! I can't stand them gloating like that!" Jiwoo aggressively whispers to Eunbyeol on their way back, eyeing Yeseul, Mirae and Seohee. "How I want to knock them off their pegs,"

"I have a plan. Do you trust me?" Eunbyeol asks her friend, trying her best to wink but fails. "All you have to do is just go along with anything I say, if it comes to it,"

Jiwoo nods to which Eunbyeol smiles and gives her a thumbs up. Eunbyeol doesn't tell Jiwoo the plan because if it does go wrong, she doesn't need Jiwoo to be at fault and receive demerits for something she didn't do. Dinner rushes by. Eunbyeol washes up first before changing into her pyjamas. She is the first to jump into her bed.

She pretends to fall asleep like she always does and waits for all the girls in her room to drift off. When she is sure that they have dozed, she pushes the window open carefully. She tiptoes around the room, gently lifting the girls' potted plants into her hands. She places them on the windowsill before she climbs out and holds them in her hands again. She closes the window shut and makes her way to the garden to see Heeseung and like he always is, he's sitting under the large tree.

"You're late today?" he chuckles softly, his sound soft against the wind. "And what's this?"

He points to the potted plants that Eunbyeol is trying to hold without dropping.

"Revenge. We have to break them," Eunbyeol tells him, before explaining to him why she's doing it. "I hate people like them. People who think that being in a higher set allows them to act like however they please,"

"Let's do it then,"

Heeseung stands up and walks up the girl, gesturing for her to hand the pots to him. She hands two of them while carrying the other one in her hand. They walk out of the garden and a little further up the path closer to the girls' dorms. It would be suspicious if the pots were found in the garden, nearer to the rooms would be best.

Eunbyeol and Heeseung have fun emptying the pots onto the ground, both feeling bad about messing up the garden. Heeseung takes his hoodie off and wraps one of the pots with it. Eunbyeol looks at him shocked.

"Bro. What the hell are you doing? You're going to get your clothes dirty," Eunbyeol hisses to her male friend, bending down to his level.

"I won't be a person of interest if things go sideways so you should not getting any of your clothes dirty," Heeseung smirks, throwing a wink in her direction. "Find me a big rock,"

Eunbyeol smiles and looks around for a rock in the dark. She finds one from the path and hands it to the male. Heeseung wraps the hoodie tightly around the pots, before smashing the rock onto it. The hoodie softens the blow but at least it doesn't make a lot of noise. It takes a couple hard hits before the pots smashes. Eunbyeol does the same to Yeseul's while Heeseung finishes it off with Mirae.

"You are now my partner in crime, Heeseung," Eunbyeol whispers to her friend, as they walk back to the garden silently. "And you know what I just realised. I don't even know your surname,"

"It's Park. Park Heeseung," he answers sheepishly, not meeting Eunbyeol in the eye.

"Park? Doesn't suit you but bro, you know the Headmistress? Isn't she so beautiful?" Eunbyeol comments, as they take a seat under the tree again. "I have never seen a woman so beautiful in my life before,"

"She's pretty but I know a woman who is so much prettier than her," Heeseung laughs quietly, turning his head to face Eunbyeol.

   "Who? Jiwoo? Your mum?"

Heeseung nods but doesn't say anything. He hasn't seen Jiwoo since two weeks before the school started. He doesn't know when he'll see her again.

"When do you think I can see Jiwoo again?" he asks himself, not expecting an answer from Eunbyeol.

"Soon? The girls and boys are going to mix for the dance lessons so soon," Eunbyeol tells him, patting him on the shoulders gently. "It must be nice. To have someone you like and that person to like you back,"

She takes her hands off and rests her head against his shoulders. He tenses up but he softens a few seconds later, leaning his head against hers.

"Someone unexpected is going to come and whisk you off your feet," Heeseung says to her in the darkness, reaching out to hold her hands. "You're going to fall so in love with this person that no one else will ever be good for you,"

"Here's to hoping,"
