After the engagement ceremony:
I was sitting in my balcony still in the same gown removing my jewellery and letting my hair loose. I was looking at the beautiful sky with twinkling stars ... which are making the sky even more beautiful. The cool breeze touching my cheeks and making my hairs blow in its own rhydm.
I looked at the ring and a thin line formed on my lips out of confusion whether I should be happy that I am engaged and getting married tomorrow or I should be sad that whatever happening it's just a temporary thing which will be lasting only for one year.
Yesterday I was sitting in the same balcony thinking about the conversation between Maa Baba that happened when they were back to home. That was the first time in my life when I felt Maa Baba being so helpless.
Flashback ( yesterday evening )
Yesterday when I came back home after meeting Raghav I asked Radha didi about Maa Baba..she said they seemed tensed ... so I decided to talk to them and instead of going to my room I went to their room but again I heard them talking
Baba: This is the biggest mistake of my life.
Maa: You were not knowing the truth that's why you misunderstood him..
Baba: I completely misunderstood him . We were childhood buddies but then too I misunderstood him for many years... before knowing the truth I accused him for something he had not even done...I am such a fool .. I can never forgive myself for this.
Maa: Don't blame yourself ...all the circumstances that time were very complicated .. everything happened within a blink of an eye that no one was able to digest that was happened.
Baba: As a friend it was my duty to stand with him .. support him in that situation..he needed me..and what I did...I just accused him ..broke friendship with him ....but still he never questioned me about anything ...and what about Arjun..he was a small 5yr kid at that time ..at such a small age he has gone through the hell... I am the one who is responsible for all this..and I want to pay back him for this or else... neither I I'll be able to face myself nor I can forgive myself for the whole life.
Maa : I can understand your pain and also the concern for Arjun.. I know you are feeling so helpless because you are not even allowed to tell the truth to Arjun as your friend asked you to promise that you'll never tell the truth to Arjun.
Baba: For the first time in our friendship he has asked me for something. I wholeheartedly wanna give it to him and make things better... this is the only way to compensate my mistakes.
Maa: Don't worry .... together we'll make things better for sure.
Baba: Sona manegi na??
Maa: Jaroor manegi .
I couldn't control my tears which were about to flow at any moment of time and ran to my room and locked the door. That was the first time when I saw Baba being so helpless .. I can't see him in that condition.. I wanna help him at any cost...
I sat in the balcony till the dinner time and finally took the decision ....if marrying Arjun is the only way to help Baba and make him feel relieved out of any guilt then I am ready to marry Arjun... even if I don't like Arjun then too I'll marry him.
Flashback end
Today in the morning when Arjun told me that we'll get married only for one year I was numbed...that was really unexpected ...anyhow I managed to digest what he said and picked the glass of water... gulping the water I had only Baba's words in my mind..."this is the only way to compensate my mistake or else ... I can never forgive myself"...I will never let my Baba down... So I agreed and said yes .. I knew that I have taken a stupid decision but at that time I didn't find any other way....I didn't even think about the future consequences ... what's gonna happen after the one year... only thing that matters to me is my Baba's happiness and his happiness is based on this marriage... anf if Arjun wants a marriage only for one year I am ready for that too...
Sometimes we need to do things that we don't wish to do. The decision I made is hurting me and may be it hurt others also because sometimes we have no good choices left with us .....just the painful ones. It is said that you can't follow your heart when it is more confused than your head. I felt the same at that time but Somewhere deep inside I had a gut feeling that no matter how my decision turns out to be...I was feeling like I am avoiding or preventing something even worse than this.
Everyone is happy for us ... Baba literally had tears in his eyes and so did Raghav...but I didn't get the answer for Raghav's tears and his thank-you.
But why Arjun wants a temporary marriage...he doesn't likes me??..or he loves someone else??
Next morning:
I was waked up with the continuous bang on the door. Rubbing my sleepy eyes I opened the door " Bhagwan Kya Karu mai is ladki ka" Maa said touching her forehead in tension . She continued " Sona its your marriage today and you are still sleeping...go get a shower fast ...the beautician is waiting for you" saying this finally she left my room.
Quickly I took a shower and later the beautician started her work... doing my hair and makeup. After 2 hrs of their work I was ready wearing the red golden lehenga.
"Mam you're looking awesome" Divya complemented entering my room.
She came and stood in front of me.
"Nervous??"
Unable to speak anything I nodded a yes
Divya held my hands in her " you don't have to worry about anything because you have the best man with you.. you have Arjun Sir with you... and you are very lucky to get Arjun Sir as your soulmate.. trust me.. you'll never ever regret choosing Sir as your life partner"
She hugged me and continued " don't be nervous "
We broke the hug . "Sir's heart is definitely going to Skip the beat when he'll look at you" she said holding my chin.
Unknowingly a smile blossomed on my lips. And we came to the mandap which is decorated in the living area.
I was struggling with my heavy lehenga to climb up the mandap but then a hand was extended towards me ...I looked up and saw the handsome hunk Arjun is wearing a navy blue sherwani and a pagadi which is making him look even more charming.
Holding his hand I climbed up the mandap and the rituals started. Arjun made me wear the mangalsutr and filled my partition with sindoor. During the whole process I tried very hard not to look into his eyes . So now I am officially Mrs Arjun.
Later we completed the pheras....for every phera I was accusing myself for taking fake promises of being together. The fact is we will be together only for one year... there's no future for this so called marriage.
After finishing all the rituals , we got down the mandap. " Go and change into something comfortable " Arjun whispered in my ear without having any eye contact.
"Take her to the room" he ordered Divya
I came back to my room ... removed the jewellery and changed into a saree ..now it was time to leave. We took blessings from Maa Baba
" I don't need to worry about Sona because she is your wife now... and you are my heera" Maa said kissing Arjun's forehead.
What is this...she is supposed to talk to me at this time and look she is busy showering her love on someone else... Cheater Kok Maa.
"Never hurt him" were the only words by baba with tears in his eyes.
Raghav whispered something in Arjun's ears for which he didn't react at all and he came to me and hugged me " shower all your love on him...he is very precious" he whispered in my ears
No one is worried about me ...all are talking about Arjun... this shows how much they love him more than me
We bid bye to all and were on the way to Arjun's house...
