Complicated (Reader×Bertholdt story)

~~Chapter 8~~

~Time skip to 3 months later~

Reader POV:

I was hanging out with Jean, Marco, Lia and Mara outside the dining when I see Bertholdt and Annie by a tree nearby and Bertholdt was saying something. He seemed to be blushing but maybe it's because it's mid winter.

Now I'll admit I do have a crush on him but I think he has feelings for Annie and because of that I suppressed my feelings so I dont get hurt if they do become a couple. I looked back over to Bertholdt and found him kneeling down by the tree and Annie walking away from him. I look back to Marco, Jean, Mara, and Lia "Uh Guys I'll be right back I got to do something real quick" I said quickly "ok" They all said nonchalantly

I ran over to Bertholdt
"Bertholdt?! What wrong?!" I asked him then I noticed he was crying I then knelt down to be eye level with him.

Bertholdt POV:

"H-hey Annie? " I pulled on her sleeve "what?" She asked me "I h-have something t-to ask y-you.. " I told her "and just please l-listen.. I like y-you, I've a-always liked y-you since w-we w-were k-kids..S-so will y-you be my girlfriend?" I breathed in and then breathed out. I then heard her sigh
"Bertholdt look I only like your as a friend and that will never change and plus I'm not looking for someone relationship right now I'm more focused on the mission and you should be to" She told me and then walked away.

I then looked at then ground and started to tremble and fall to my knees and cry thats when I heard crunching in the snow "Bertholdt?! What's wrong?!" I heard her ask me "n-nothing I'm f-fine" I said while wiping my tears which she definitely didn't believe. "I know your lying Bertholdt, please dont lie to me.." y/n told me, I sigh " I told Annie about m-my f-feelings.." I said trying not to stutter but did anyways and then I started to cry again "...Hey its ok.." Y/n said trying to comfort me " Take your time.."

I take a big breath in a let it out " Like I said I told Annie about how I feel about her but then she told me she doesnt feel the same way about me and wants to focus more on more important things.." I told Y/n of course I kinda stretched the truth about what Annie said again..but if I told Y/n that Annie wanted to focus more on the mission then Y/n would be suspicious and also be confused on what mission I was talking about, besides its not that big of a deal.

Reader POV:

" Like I said I told Annie about how I feel about her but then she told me she doesnt feel the same way about me and wants to focus more on more important things.." Bertholdt told me, I then felt my heart hurt because it was true Bertholdt did like Annie but now that I know she doesnt feel that way so I have a chance with him..;)... Wait! What am I saying Bertholdt is sad right now I have to comfort him instead of trying to flirt with him.

"I understand how you feel and trust me its going to be ok" I told bertholdt and gave him a sad smile and he gave me a look of sadness so I hugged him and he hugged back. "Thank you Y/n" Bertholdt said to me. We both broke from the hug and got up and went to the dining hall to meet up with our friends.

~Small time skip to the winter training~

"ALRIGHT YOU MAGGOTS TODAY YOU ARE GOING TO BE WALKING WITH YOUR GROUP TO CABINS LOCATED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FOREST WHERE THERE IS A CLEARING!" Commader Shadis yelled (LMFAOOOOO IM SO SORRY IF THAT NOT RIGHT BUT THAT IS THE ONLY WAY TO EXPLAIN FOR ME!AND I ALSO HAD TO MAKE CHANGES TO THE STORY SO THAT YOU AND BERTHOLDT CAN CUDDLE A BIT ;) )
"YOU WILL BE TIMED TO SEE HOW LONG IT TAKES YOU TO GET THERE BUT THERE WILL BE LITTLE CABINS TO REST DURING YOUR JOURNEY KNOWINGS YOU WIMPS YOU PROBALY WILL STOP THERE FOR TWO HOURS TO WARM YOUR LITTLE PUNY BODYS AND I WILL CHOOSE YOUR PARTNERS!" Shadis yelled again "FIRST GROUP IS BRAUN, HOOVER, AND L/N, SECOND GROUP IS YEAGER, ACKERMAN, AND ARLERT, THIRD GROUP IS KIRSTIEN, BODT, AND JONES( Jones is Maras and Lias last name if you didnt know, lol)(Sorry for not saying that Mara and Lis are sisters :( )" Shadis yelled for the umpteenth time and he continued to yell are group pairings.

When Shadis was done with yelling the group pairings we went to pack are bags and put on our coats. I went to the girls dorm and packed my bag and put another shirt on and then my winter coat and then put my winter boots on. I put the backpack on my back and went to find Bertholdt and Reiner. I soon found them and Reiner handed me some rations and I took them and put them in my backpack. " Thanks Reiner" I said and shot him a quick smile "No problem" he said and grinned " lets get g-going guys" Bertholdt said I nodded and we took off.

We were walking quite a bit Id say for about four hours and only stopped once to take a drink of water. The sun was setting and it was getting dark fast so we were lucky enough to find a little cabin like Commader Shadis told us " Come guys lets go in!" I said to them and they both nodded. I ran up to the cabins door and opened it and walked in. I dropped my stuff by the litte table they had and grab the matches that were on the table and lit the lanterns and candles for light. Bertholdt and Reiner dropped their stuff next to mine and plopped down on the floor, I mentally sigh and went outside to grab fire wood "How come Im the one doing everything..?" I mumbled to myself while grabbing the firewood, I walked back inside the cabin and placed the firewood in the fireplace. I took a match and lit it on fire and then tossed it on the wood in the fire place and let the wood burn. I then walked over to the door to take my shoes off and hang my coat on the coat rack and made my way over to my backpack and grab my rations and I quickly ate it and the gulped down my water.

Bertholdt and Reiner stared in amusement as they stared at me and laughed at how fast I ate my food and drank my water. I stuck my tounge out at them and walked away to the bedroom and gulped " uhhhhhh guys?" I called out to them " what?" Reiner and Bertholdt said I walked over back to them "There is only one bed.."I said to them "..." we all stared at each other in silence "Ill sleep on the floor you guys share the bed since your both small enough" Reiner stated, Bertholdt and I both blushed a deep red and looked at each other staring each other right in the eyes which made us both blush even more. Sure I would love to share a bed with him but I dont want to seem like a pervert or weird and say yes. "You guys have no other option really so I would just do it" Reiner said blankly I sighed and said "ok but only because I dont want to sleep on the floor"

Also this is a chapter was a bit rushed because I wanted you amazing people to have a chapter for Christmas :))) and I also might do a Christmas special but I dont really have any ideas :/ but if I dont do a Christmas special for this book then I might make a one-shot book for Christmas and for Levis birthday. If I do end up making the One-shot book expect the first chapter to be about Levi and not to many updates because I will be focusing on this book more :))
