Chapter 1: Enter: Naruto Uzumaki

        Trees whizzed by as you silently ran through the trees. Soon, you see the large gates of Konoha. Pausing, you observed the village from the outside. It seemed relatively peaceful and quiet. The two chunin who were guarding the gates were asleep. Weak, was the first thought that popped into your head. This is why it was so easy for you to infiltrate Konoha.

        Sighing, you ducked behind a tree, took off your mask and cloak, and sealed them away. Since no one has ever seen you before today, with the exception of Haku and Zabuza, you decided to keep your looks. Satisfied with your appearance, you finally stepped out from behind the tree and made your way to the village. Approaching the tall gates, you slipped past the guards and onto the streets. You tugged on your locks and hid your face behind them, feeling self-conscious. You shuffled down along the road, making your way to the Hokage building.

        As you walked, you observed your surroundings. People walked around minding their own business while children ran around. The villagers seemed so happy here. The village was more beautiful than in the anime. In the distance, you could see the Hokage Mountain with the Hokages' faces carved into the rocks. The trees swayed as a breeze blew through them. 

        You entered the building and knocked on the door. A faint 'Come in' is heard and you opened the door and entered the room. The Hokage was an old man who sat there smoking. You studied him for a while before bowing down. He chuckled and gestured for you to stand. 

        "Can I help you?" He asked you.

        You don't answer immediately. Instead, you opted to stare at him while contemplating on what to say. Finally, you opened your mouth and replied.

        "I wish to be granted citizenship to Konoha." Your soft voice rang out, almost like a gentle whisper. Your face, however, remained stone cold as you look the Hokage in the eye. He paused, considering my demand. He sat forward, frowning.

        "Where is your family? Where did you come from?" He asked.

        "My family is dead. I am the last one alive. I come from-" You hesitated before answering vaguely. "I come from my village that I left behind."

        "Do you mean any harm to this village?" He questioned. My reply was immediate.

        "No."

        His mouth curved into a gentle smile. "Then you are allowed on one condition."

        "And that is?"

        "You must become a ninja to protect this village."

        You bowed again. "Hai, Hokage-sama. Thank you for this opportunity."

        He gave you the keys to your new apartment along with some money to buy food and other necessities. As you turned to leave, his voice stopped you. "By the way, what would your name be?" 

        You hesitated before answering. "(A/n) (alias/name)"

        Stepping outside, you looked at the keys before balling up the hand they were in into a fist. Glancing up at the sky, you decided to not draw unnecessary attention to yourself. You were going to operate behind the scenes while staying unnoticed. However, it was going to be rather difficult because you were working to change the plot, even by a little disturbance. It would be best to stay away from the more important character. Also, the Hokage didn't seem to trust you completely. Having him or the ANBU watching over you 24/7 was going to complicate many things. After all, 'Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer'.
