Insecurities

Hi guys this story was inspired by one of @shiny013 broppy oneshots which you should check out btw😉
And this is tbh inspired by the way I feel about myself as well and you can see by the title it says insecurities yes I'm insecure about myself honestly though people in my family yell at me for being insecure and my cousins and brother doesn't make it any better but I least I have you guys:) anyways I hope you enjoy this oneshot💙💖

Why do I have to look like this?

Poppy looked at her mirror before feeling tears prickle in her eyes when she laid her eyes upon herself

She blinked her eyes refusing to let the tears spill. She let out a deep breath as she sighed

"I hate myself"
People always think insecurities is just a way girls like to act to get sympathy but they don't understand how much deeper it is...
Insecurities can drive a girl to her knees to the point where she will never be able to get back up again

"I don't like the way I look"
Insecurities can lead to girls hiding their full potentials and blessings, it leads to many girls
becoming...depressed

"I hate this feeling so.....why do I keep trying to feel it
The truth is we don't like feeling like this
No one does but it's something we can't help
We can't help it, hating ourselves hurts so much
"I'm to scared to look in the mirror"
The fact that some people are to scared to look at their own reflection, scared that the reflection is not what they expect or...what others expect
"We care so much about what people says about us"
Why? Some people just...tell you what you wanna hear
Don't feel that way
Don't think that way
Your beautiful just the way you are
Stop being so insecure
Or
Your ugly
Your a freak
Your fat
Your...nobody

"Do you think I want to keep feeling like this?"

Poppy was so deep into these thoughts she forget Branch was waiting for her so they could go on their date

Yes..Branch was her boyfriend
But why?
He could have gotten any other troll but he chose her?
Don't get her wrong she loved Branch from the deepest core she truly did but...
She wasn't enough

"Hey pops you okay? You've been in there for while"
"Coming" poppy responded as she quckly wiped the small tears that she couldn't hold

Poppy came out dressed in a red strapless dress and had comb out her hair tying it to it's usually high ponytail
"You look beautiful poppy" Branch told her as he looked at her almost memerized at what he was seeing
But poppy looked at him and didn't respond which made him tilt his head in confusion
"Hey poppy...you okay?"

"I'm fine.." she responded her head was spinning she felt tears once again in her eyelids begging to be released but she didn't want Branch to worry to much if he saw her crying so she just put her head down and shut her eyes tight

"Hey poppy look at me" Branch said as he slowly reached and put his hand under her chin slowly rising it so his eyes could meet her gaze
"Poppy...what's wrong?" Branch asked his eyes begging for her response
"Me" she responded almost like a whisper but he heard it loud enough
He could have swore he heard his heart shatter from inside

"Hey poppy look at me!"
He sighed, he knew what poppy was dealing with, it wasn't new to him when poppy would talk bad about herself and nobody else knew but him...but every time she said something negative about herself it hurt him because she didn't see how beautiful she was just the way she is....
"Don't forget your a masterpiece!" Branch would always give poppy Daily reminders of how beautiful and amazing she was.
He knew she was struggling but he was their to be with here through the baby steps of recovery
He was never gonna stop telling her how amazing, beautiful and important she is until the day he would take his last breath...
He looked at her
She was so beautiful but yet she felt like a mess
He hated poppy feeling this way because he knew the mental pain she was going through

he's...been there before and it's a very dark room he would never dare to open ever again... back when he was gray he hated himself but poppy was the one who showed him how to...love yourself and it honestly pained him that she was trying so hard to help him when she was in pain herself he felt guilty...

Poppy looked at him as he returned the gaze he slightly smiled and open his arms begging poppy with his eyes to come in

Poppy fell into his arms as she buried her face in the crook of his neck letting out a deep and shaky sigh as the silent tears were taking over her face

They both fell to their knees the weigh of her sadness had succumbed to the moment
He rubbed her back as he slowly and gently started singing to her swaying her back and forth

When I see your face
Theirs not a thing that I would change

And when you smile
The Whole world stops and stares for a while
Cause girl your amazing
Just the way you are.....

Branch kissed poppy in the forehead and interlocked his fingers with hers
"And nothing can make me change my mind about you"
She looked at him with tears eyes
"Thank you Branch...thank you so much"
He smiled before tickling her in the stomach causing her to fall down and giggle

He loved the sound of her laughter it was music to his ears

He gently leaned down and pressed his lips again hers smiling through his kiss as he felt her kiss back
"I love you..so much"
"I love you too" she responded

"Your are truly beautiful...just the way you are"
