She always felt her life was mundane.
A basic routine that didn't change around much. And she liked it that way. She was fifteen years old. Finishing a novel in a day, or having a period to bunk in school, with a window seat  afterwards  on the ride back home and she'd call it a good day.

Her girlfriends were always about dating someone new every few weeks.
Although she didn't understand it. She never discouraged them. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion right?

Dating was never really her forte.
She never felt she could open up with someone, or that anyone would ever even care to listen and remember the small things she had to say or share. Damn those fictional male characters for raising the bar damn high.  Teenage boys could never attain that kind of maturity you know. They have testosterone levels so high you'd think they think with their d*ck instead of the brain. Always having only one thing on their mind. Everything is corrupted for them. While girls have special sessions in school telling them about periods and pregnancy, the only sessions boys have is p*rn playing with one hand, and their parts in another.

That's always the explanation she gave when people asked her why she wasn't dating anyone. It's not like guys didn't like her, some did hit on her. But she never felt attracted to any of them. She just always considered them dumb creatures and figured she'd never find a guy who'd understand her like any of the books she'd read.

Little did she know that things were about to change forever, and she'd be doing things she never thought she'd make exceptions for anybody.
