"It's my second name." Elise explained when she saw the confusion in his eyes. Elise slowly hugged her knees to her chest while smiling softly at Cleo. "It would only be you who'd be calling me that."

He visibly brightened at that. "I'm honored, my la-- I mean, Aubrie."

Elise nodded at him but then she remembered the important matters at hand. She narrowed her eyes at him suspiciously and Cleo looked confused at the sudden change.

"So, what are you?" Elise asks instead. "How come you've chosen me as the one you'll serve?"

Cleo's expression turned cold and Elise was surprised as well at his sudden change. He was just so warm a while ago. How had be become so cold and distant all of a sudden?

Cleo's brownish orange ears twitched a little. "I'm a squirrel. I'm actually the one who..." He then turned a little flustered a bit. "Who... threw an acorn at you."

Elise gasped when she remembered that and she pointed an accusing finger at him. "You threw that?"

Cleo nodded as a blush painted his cheeks. "I'm so sorry! Have I hurt you? Did it bother you? I didn't mean to! I was very irritated at that time! I'm sorry!"

Elise glared at him. "And, you threw an acorn at me because you were irritated?"

"It's because I was wondering why fate had made you my master!" He whimpered, his ears drooping sadly. "I'm sorry. I'm now honored to be your... Err... Companion but at that time, it was really confusing."

"Wait." Elise said. He said those words as if he already knew before that acorn-throwing incident that Elise was already the one he'll serve. When exactly did he know that she was his master? "When exactly did you meet me?"

Cleo hummed thoughtfully. "It was around the time when Miss Isobel had saved you from the forest when you fainted."

He knew her for that long?

"Do you know why Miss Isobel was there in the first place?"

From what Elise knows, the woman doesn't even go out that often. None of the selenophiles leave the house that often. It would be questionable if somebody did, actually. With how they were always with Elise, the young girl would question them if they did leave their home. Well, Elise had wondered why Isobel was walking alone in that forest. When she asked mama, she said that the place where she fainted was very far from the mansion. Why was she walking very far from the mansion though?

"You don't know?"

Elise looks at Cleo with he brows knitted together in pure confusion. "What do I don't know?"

Was Isobel hiding something from her that Elise had yet to find out?

The thought seriously made Elise's heart drop in fear. She didn't want to find out about why Isobel was out for a stroll that time.

But Elise had to know.

"She was supposed to meet with me since we were both going to a meeting." Cleo explained, looking at Elise weirdly. "It's between fated servants."

Elise's heart dropped.

"What?"

"Aubrie, Miss Isobel is Sir Serafino's fated servant." Cleo said, looking very confused at Elise's response to him. "You seriously didn't know?"

"B-But that can't be." Elise had thought that Isobel was Serafino's fated mate. Selenophiles gets mates very rarely.

Selenophiles were different. They do have mates but they meet them very rarely, so  rarely that some meet them after such a long amount of time. That's why they think highly of mates and they don't have any rejections to bonding with them whenever they meet their fated mates.
