You are not the time you stumbled down the stairs
You are not the nerves that cloud your words
You are not the scars you hold
You are not evil
You are not broken
You are not selfish
You are the way your feet slide across the grass while dancing
You are the smile that brightens my day
You are the laugh that everyone agrees is contagious
You are the arms always held wide for others
You are good
You are whole
You are kind
Maybe the boy from the first stanza deserves to die
But you deserve to thrive
