My Possession

Daisy scratched out her latest attempt at an introduction, scowling down at the stupid piece of parchment. She covered her face with her hands, she had such a terrible headache but this was due tomorrow,

She clenched her eyes shut, and she breathed deeply before reopening her eyes and starting on a fresh piece of parchment, 

"I don't see why it's so funny," said Aurelia, her voice carrying over the bookshelves easily, easily recognizable because of her accent, 

Daisy's eyes widened and she quickly found her compact to fix her mascara before there was any chance of Aurelia seeing her,

"Say penguin again." Said Malfoy, poking her cheek as she restocked books on their shelves,

"Penguin."

"No, no, how you said it before. Say it and I'll leave you alone," said Malfoy, teasing her. And Aurelia sighed,

"Pen-juin," she muttered and Malfoy burst out laughing as Aurelia'a face heated up in embarrassment, "It's a weird word,"

"Say focus."

"Non." Said Aurelia, "Tu Es un crétin," said Aurelia, and he reigned hurt,

"Then I'm just going to leave you to put a shitload of books with anti levitation spells on shelves you can't reach because you're short." Said Malfoy, and Aurelia scowled,

"I'm just... vertically challenged," she grumbled, and he chuckled before walking away,

"I can't hear you, I'm too much of an asshole," said Malfoy, and Aurelia huffed before rounding a corner and spotting Daisy sitting alone at a table, doing an essay,

"Bucannon," Said Aurelia and Daisy looked up in mock surprise, 

"Taschereaux, you look very French today," Said Daisy, attempting to seem like she was perfectly fine and not only surviving on three hours of sleep,

Aurelia furrowed her eyebrows and pushed the cart towards the table before sitting opposite Daisy, 

"Are you alright?" Asked Aurelia, 

"Why wouldn't I be?" 

"Well you told me I looked French today and I left my baguette and beret at home," Said Aurelia, and Daisy's face went blank in shock, "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine, totally, utterly fine," Said Daisy, and Aurelia peered over her work and Daisy bit her lip as anxiety crawled over her skin, 

"Do you want help with your essay?" Asked Aurelia, taking note of the scattered pieces of parchment Daisy had failed to vanish, 

"Why would you think that I need help?" Asked Daisy, immediately on the defensive, "Do you not think I'm smart or something?"

"No, no, non, of course not, you are very smart it's just the essay is due tomorrow, and I figured I could at least bring you snacks or something and you weren't at dinner," She said rather nervously, it was strange for Daisy to see Aurelia less than perfect, 

The head girl always seemed so put together, Daisy wondered what could possibly be making her nervous. Once in class a firefox had flamed in front of her and Aurelia hadn't even flinched, simply stared it down. Another time Lestrange had teased her accent and then she fell deathly silent and didn't even utter an incantation, but Daisy just knew Lestrange not being able to hear for the next three days was a coincidence.

Aurelia stood up, 

"Wait." Said Daisy, and Aurelia didn't move, "I just hate needing help. and.. maybe a snack," She said as the pounding in her head,
