~Just You and Me~

~ Chapter Four ~

(A.N. - Dude, I swear- WAP can literally go with any of the Hamilton songs wtf-)

"What do you mean, 'I don't know?!'" Pink shouted at Yellow as she slammed her fists down on the table.

"I mean I don't know," Yellow spat back at her. 

"I saw you coming from that direction!  You were heading towards the lower engine!" Pink yelled.

"What if something else happened?  What if they messed up on one of their tasks and it ended up backfiring?" Cyan asked.

"Who, Lime?  I highly doubt that someone as skilled as him would mess up," Black said.

"Good point," Blue agreed.  "If Yellow claims that she wasn't the one who did it, and if Red and Black were somewhere in that area, how did the killer get away with it?" Green asked.

"Vents, maybe?" Brown said.

"What do you think, Red?" Black asked him.  Red had been spacing out.  He was traumatized.  He just saw the lifeless body of one of his fellow crewmates lying before him.  He remembered how cold and still his decapitated body was.  It was an image he would never forget.

"I-I'm...not sure..." Black placed a reasurring hand on Red's shoulder, which caused him to cheer up a bit, but not a lot.

"It's fine, Red.  Just go get some rest.  You've been through a lot today," Blue said, sympathy in his eyes.

"What if it's Red?" White asked suddenly.  She had been quiet for the majority of the meeting and was now accusing Red for literally the most horrid thing possible.  "I mean, think about it:  He was there with the body.  What is he self-reported and tried to make it seem like it wasn't him by acting all moody?"

Everyone just stared at her in shock, Red included.  Me?  What..?

"No, that's crazy.  Red would never do something that gruesome!" Blue argued.

"Yeah, did you see the way that body was mangled?  I highly doubt that Red has the stomach for that sort of thing," Black added on, looking at Red with caring eyes.

"I agree with them," Cyan said.

"Me too."

"Me three."

Pretty soon everyone but White had sided with Blue and Black's statements.

"Whatever.  Don't come crawling back to me when you loose your precious friends.." she said eerily.  She seemed off.  She seemed suspicious..

In order to get the meeting over with, everyone skipped the vote.  Well, except for Brown.  He voted for White.  Guess Red wasn't the only one who thought she was acting weird.

After everyone went their separate ways, Red took Blue's advice and went to medbay to get some rest.  When he reached his destination he walked to the back of the room to where his bed was and sat on the edge of it.  He still couldn't believe all that happened today.  The day started off tense, with their oxygen almost being depleated.  Then, it went to joyful, from Red's encounter with Black, of course.  Then, out of nowhere, the mood totally changed.  He found the body and that ruined it all.  It was scary.  There was no other word for it.  In the end, Red and a few of his other crewmates were deeply affected by Lime's passing.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.  It was Black.

"Hey, sorry to barge in.  Just wanted to see how you were holding up," he explained as he walked to Red's bed and sat on the edge with him.  "Are you okay?"

"Y-yeah, I guess.." Red muttered.  "J-just a little scared, that's all..."

Red's head was facing the floor, but he could feel Black's gaze on him.

"Listen, what happened today was pretty messed up.  You shouldn't have had to see that..." Black said, almost as if he was guilty. 

"Well, i-it's kind of too late for that now, isn't it?" Red said as he let out a sarcastic chuckle.  Black kept his face serious.

"Hey, can you promise me something?" he asked, his eyes full of worry.

"S-sure," Red responded.  He was exhausted and sleep was beginning to sound really nice.  Unconsciously, Red leaned his head on Black's shoulder.  He could feel the heat through the fabric of his spacesuit.  It was comfotable.  He felt safe.  Black then wrapped his arms around Red and they just sat there, enjoying each other's company.  Before they knew it, they were fast asleep.

. . .

"Oh, Red...you have no idea what's coming to you.." White chuckled.  She was hiding right around the corner and heard everything they had just talked about.  To her, Red was a threat.  Black was hers.  Hers and hers alone.

She slipped her hand in her pocket and caressed the handle of her pistol.

"Just you wait..."
