Naomi squealed out once more, "Kyaaaa~ So romantic! My big brother needs to take some notes!"
(Y/n) sweat drop at her words before she took a sip of the tea she had made and said, "So, I guess next time I see him, I'll tell him how I feel."
Haruno nodded with a serious look on her face as she said, "Perfect. Wonderful. I'm so proud of you, (Y/n)-chan. I have shipped the two of you since your first day here six weeks ago... You both had such amazing chemistry."
"I hated him when I first started working in the field... what on earth are you talking about?"
Naomi sighed out, "Ah, all I saw was a girl in love!"
"Okay--- next subject! Before I start working on going through all of the information I gathered, I'm going run a check on the security system around the lodge. I've emailed you both the data I gathered on the Guild while I was trapped in their agent Lucy's ability. There is information on some of their top agents, but I expect most of it to be on their small fry grunts. If you both could start sifting through that and taking note of anything that seems related to ability-users, then we can create some countermeasure against their operatives."
The two girls mock saluted (Y/n) as they said, "Leave it to us, ma'am!"
(Y/n) chuckled at their playfulness as she said, "You two are too much for me, and thank you for helping. That much information would take me three days to go through alone, but with all of us we can probably make something conclusive by noon tomorrow. That should help our defensive teams when they encounter agents."
(Y/n) stood from the island and walked into the mudroom adjacent to the kitchen to search through all of the drawers and shelves in there for a pair of needle-nose pliers, zip ties, and a flat and phillips head screw driver.
She quickly found the pliers and screw drivers, but she gave up on zip ties after ten minutes of searching and settled for rubber bands.
She pulled up the security system plans on database and tried to used the map to locate the cameras that were not working properly.
The first camera was on the front porch, and it was an easy fix. It had just become unplugged from its power source... How does one of those even come unplugged without someone pulling it out?
The second and third, however, were destroyed. When she went around back to find the two cameras that were overlooking the back yard of the lodge, they were hanging by their wires and the glass protecting the camera lenses was cracked on one, and completely broken on the second. It looked almost like some kids had thrown rocks at them for fun.
"Ah, the youth of today... These are beyond repair at the moment..."
The backyard was less of a yard and more along the lines of a small field.
It stretched a solid 100 meters back to the tree line, and the same distance across. A large, overgrown, flower garden was set in the middle of the yard, with a stone path running through the yard until it reached the tree line.
"I wonder if Naomi and Haruno like flowers... maybe they'll want to tend to the garden with me sometime?"
(Y/n) followed the map on database to the treeline and into the woods. According to database, these sensors out here are infrared and audio sensors. When they see enough movement they'll alert the system operator of the location and start recording sound.
When she got to the location of one of the sensors, she noticed something very interesting about it. Its wires were cut. (Y/n) could still see a small blue wire piece sitting on the ground below the sensor that was tied to a tree. There it was, resting just on top of some leaves.
That's not a good sign.
She quickly ran off to the second sensor to see if it was in the same state.
These two sensors are immediately behind the lodge, and they are neighbors. At least she won't have to run half a kilometer to find the other one.
When she jogged some 200 meters she had arrived at the sensor.
It was in the same state, the wires were cut, and the wire was sitting on top of all of the surrounding foliage.
It wasn't resting below the leaves. It wasn't resting below anything. These wires were recently cut, and no leaves, no grass, no nothing had come along to burry it.
To make matter worse, her database chimed to life with a new notification:
System Alert
Location: Camera 1-- Old Agency Headquarters; 1st Quadrant
Database flashed an image of the camera and (Y/n) scowled as she saw a familiar mafioso walking into a tunnel that would lead to the temporary headquarters.
Not good...
