"It's still the color of shit, Da--Osamu."
"Just keep looking through the bag! Tell me if you find anything interesting!"
"Fine, stop distracting me though... I just woke up and I feel like I can't focus on anything right now."
She began to pull out the folded clothes, some shampoo, conditioner, and other body care items bit by bit until she found an envelope at the bottom with her name scribbled on it in a familiar handwriting.
"Oh, and envelop with your handwriting on it? My oh my, is this the long-awaited love letter I've been searching for?"
The man chuckled over the phone before he said, "Not quite, but had I known you wanted a love letter I would have written one for you. Though, I don't think you need a letter to figure out how I feel about you."
His words brought a flush to her cheeks as she mumbled out, "Oh, shut up... You really are such a flirt."
When she opened the envelope there was a single sheet of paper with a strange sequence of numbers written out on it.
She flipped the piece of paper over, but only the numbers were on the paper.
"Dazai, what is--"
"Osamu!"
"Osamu, what is this? A code? Your genetic sequence? It's just a bunch of numbers?"
The man hummed over the phone as he said, "It may or may not be a backdoor code into the surveillance system set up at the Agency's temporary residence."
Her mouth watered at those words. "A backdoor, you say? Now, why on earth would you give this to me if you were so worried about me overusing my ability again, hmm?"
"This way I can give you the quickest way to access the security system without you using your ability to try to hack into it. It saves you the energy, and saves me the worry. Besides, we partially sent you there to finish recovering from your concussion, remember?"
(Y/n) laughed at his silliness before she said, "Dazai... Ah, Osamu... I can't help but think there was maybe another reason for you sending me here other than for me to protect those two and to recover. Would you mind telling me what that is?"
He smiled into the phone and said, "A suicidal man never reveals his secrets too soon. I'm sure you can figure out what I'm hiding with that wonderful brain of yours."
(Y/n) smiled at his words before she said, "I may or may not have a hunch... but I don't have enough evidence to support my conclusion yet."
Dazai had a testy tone in his voice as he said, "Then I guess you better start gathering evidence, hmm?"
(Y/n) stood to her feet and walked over to her doorway to the hallway before she said, "I'll let you know next time I see you why I think you sent me here. Does that sound like a deal?"
"That sounds like a wonderful idea. Until next time I call you, my dear."
"Au dieu, mi amor... And Dazai, please be safe and don't do anything reckless."
"I should say the same to you. I have faith in you and your abilities should anything happen, but that doesn't mean I want to hear about an accident from the President. Promise you will call me if anything happens, (Y/n)."
"I promise, but you have to do the same!"
"You have yourself a deal!"
"Oh, shut up... I'll talk to you later..."
