Well, holy sprinkles, it's been a while.
(also I really want that shirt because like... dinosaurs... and trans rights...)
So there's this writing club at my high school. And when this was written, we had a prompt, which was to write for fifteen minutes about a made-up myth. So I went for dinosaurs because who doesn't like dinosaurs?
So here's this:
"Once upon a 66 million years ago, there lived the dinosaurs in what we now call the Mesozoic Era. They lived their lives peacefully, living by the circle of life, constantly covered by a dark and empty blanket of sky.
Their ruler, Starosaurus, was the liege of the land. Starosaurus was fair and kind, strict yet just. Starosaurs knew that they were above everyone, but they were very humble. The Starosaurus was one of it's kind. (Gender is below the Starosaurus and the social concept of gender wasn't a thing back then)
One day, the Starosaurs was sitting upon their throne, peering up at the dark sky of space as they always did. The other dinosaurs were living their lives to the fullest, eating and conversing by means of head nods and tiny arm waves.
Life was dark, for there was no light in the sky except a dim glow from a galaxy far away. But then, a bright object filled the sky. The Starosaurus was the only one who noticed, but soon enough the rest of the dinosaurs looked up from what they were eating and terror filled every pair of eyes on the Earth.
The Starosaurus knew what they had to do. Climbing onto the tallest mountain, the Starosaurus jumped up as the bright object entered the atmosphere, and the dinosaurs watched in wonder as the two beings collided.
The bright light is now called the Sun, and it lights up our Earth.
The Starosaurus had avoided a destroyed planet. Yet the blast had shattered the great Starosaurus into millions of pieces, and the pieces are now scattered into the sky, burning bright.
The millions of pieces are named after the Starosaurus and each species of dinosaurs that were destroyed in the blast keep the "-saurus" in their name. Now, the Starosuarus lays in our stars and our memories. There is no true image of them, for everyone's perception of the Star is different."
(Basically a myth of how the stars came to be and how dinosaurs got the name 'saurus')
