Chapter 2:

~Natalie~

I'm still looking at the way he went, when I realise the hallway is empty. "Shit!" I take a look at my watch and my eyes widen. "Shit! Shit! Shit! I'm gonna be late!" I close and lock my locker and run as fast as I can to my first period, science. Yeah, fun.... not! I always try my best to get good grades, but if I could... I would so remove this class of my list. I drag myself into class and to my relief, our teacher, miss Ash, hasn't arrived yet. I walk to my seat and place myself in it. People haven't noticed yet I'm there... sitting in the front... like always. Well, that's the definition of a nobody. Right, when I'm about to ask some kids, who don't seem nice, where miss Ash is, she walks with in with an angry expression on her face. Oh great! That means her husband and her had a fight. That also means she gonna let off her anger on us. She grabs some stuff out of her bag and puts it on her desk. Well.... here she goes. 3... 2... 1. 'Miss Bones! Where were you when my class started?!' Suprised she starts with me I stutter out the words. 'I... I was just h-here, miss.' I hear some kids laugh in the back of the class at my stuttering. 'No! You were not! Don't lie to me!' I'm shocked. My mouth shuts and my eyes widen. Even the kids in the back, who were laughing, are quiet. She has never been this mad. I hope she and her husband didn't get divorced or something. Believe me, I really don't like miss Ash, but that's not an excuse for not be worried. Miss Ash seems not to realise my fearness, but still walks away from me, to the board. "Alright, class. Period begins. Open your books on page 137."

I walk into the cantine after two horrible lessons. I want to grab a plate of the pile, but some one grabs my arm and drags me to one of the tables. Than, I see who it is. Of course, my best friend, Hailey Nelson.

"What's up, shitface." She always calls me the weirdest nicknames. Even though, they are a bit harsh, I still know she doesn't mean them.

"You know, that nickname gets pretty old." I say with a smile.

"Hmmm... yeah, I dont care really. I'm not really in the mood right now for new nicknames. Soo... I said: What's up? I haven't spoken to you the whole day!"

"That's not true. I texted you this morning! I can't believe you miss me already." I joke.

"Yeah, keep dreaming, little squirrel."

"Hey, I'm not that little! And really? Can't you make up a better nickname than squirrel? I should ask you what's wrong?"

She sighs. "Alright. alright. I think I can't hide it from you anymore... the thing is... I'm pregnant!" My eyes widen. "And I think Marco is the father!" I burst out in laughter as I realise she is fooling me. Marco is her one year old rabbit. "I think.... that you guys... would get a really special... child." I try to speak in between my laughters.

"Yeah one who is addicted to carrots!" She says and a second later she burst out in laughter as well.

"I love you, Hail!" No, not in the kind of relationship-things, but in the kind close friendships.

"I love you too, butt-face!" I roll my eyes at her and she grins. "Come on, let's go to get some food!" I nod and we link arms with eachother.

Back in the cantine, we buy our lunches and walk to our table. We talk a bit about the usuals with the rest of the table, Aiden, Daniel, Taylor and Grace. Then some subjects comes up we never ever talk about. Lauren Evans. "Did you hear she is seen with...." "Wait, what?" I ask. Grace pours me in my arm and whispers something to me. "Do you know Matt is staring at you?"

"What?" I turn my head and I look right at Matt McAdam who is staring at me. As soon as I stare back at him, he turns his head back to his friends and starts talking to them. That was... weird. Why would he-? The bells rings to state that our lunchtime is over. I grab my stuff and throw away my half-eaten sandwich. "Heei, Nat." A familiar voice speaks up behind me.

"Yeah, what's up, Daniel?" I turn around to face him.

"Do you mind if I walk you to your class?"

"No, not at all, but isn't your class at the other end of school?"

"Yeah, but I can get there in time. So, don't worry about it."

I smile and together we walk out of the cantine. Something inside me tells me that this school-year is going to be different.

sorry it's too short, I hope it's at least two pages, because I really can't tell. What funny is, is that I have a miss Ash in real-life that gives science, but she is actually really nice, so I don't know what motivated me to let her play as a mean teacher. Ha! Sooo... what do you think of Daniel, ha? and what do you think Matt was thinking when he was staring at Natalie? Oh... and what do you think Hailey was going to say when she was gossiping about Lauren. Someone was seen with her or something..... hmmmm....
