(Felix POV)
I walked down the street briskly, wanting nothing more than to get out of this part of town and back to my hotel. Mark had gotten drunk, as was tradition on the last night of VidCon, and had a "banger of a headache". The only reason I was out here freezing my ass off walking down some dark alleyway was to get him some Aspirin at an RX. Google maps had said it would only be a 5 minute walk to the nearest CVS, but that was a f**king lie. And it didn't help that I was unfamiliar with the area, either. I shivered and pulled my hood up to cover my ears, which were already becoming red and tender from the cold. "I should've brought my beanie," I thought, cursing myself in Swedish for not realizing earlier just how chilly it would be. Suddenly, I heard a low voice cut through the dark silence.
Unknown:"hey there, buddy"
I stopped for a moment, stunned from a mix of fear and surprise, but then immediately snapped out of it and quickened my pace, glancing backwards cautiously in hopes of catching a glimpse of whoever had just spoken. It seemed there was no one there. But then again, it was very dark, and someone could've easily been hiding in the shadows. My anxiety spiked as my hand gripped the knife in my pocket instinctively, ready to pull it out at a moments notice. I've always carried a pocketknife with me just in case of a situation like this. Just as quickly as it had disappeared, the voice was back.
Unknown:"You, uh, that PewDiePie guy?"
That stopped me cold. He recognized me. Could it be a fan? I wouldn't rule it out, seeing as the city was currently packed with VidCon-goers. I let go of the knife in my pocket and relaxed a bit. If it did turn out to be a fan and I pulled a knife on him, the media would have a field day, not to mention I would've scarred one of my fans for life. Just because I have 107 million of them doesn't mean I don't care about each and every one. I turned around slowly. It was a stupid move, but ignoring a fan is another huge no-no for a YouTuber.
Felix: "Hey, uh, yeah. I'm PewDiePie. Heh, king of YouTube, at your service!" I joked. I had a habit of making bad jokes when I was lying or afraid.
Unknown: "What are you doing out here alone at this time of night?'
There was a tinge of amusement in his voice, as if he was delighting in the fact that he was making me afraid. "snap out of it, Felix. It's just a fan. He has no ill intentions towards you, he just caught you off guard and so you're on edge now." I reasoned with myself. I got back into my 'Fan-Interaction' mode and spoke again.
Felix: "Oh, nothing, just getting back to my hotel. It is pretty late, y'know what I mean?"
Unknown: "Yeah... As it turns out, I do know what you mean."
What was that supposed to mean? Now I was becoming very afraid. He hadn't acted like a fan usually does, either. In all this time, he hadn't even shown his face. Usually, fans would be running up, asking for autographs or pictures, shaking my hand and telling me how much they like my videos. This guy was really creeping me out.
Felix: "Well, I'll be off then. It was, uh, nice talkin' to ya." I let out an uncomfortable chuckle and started walking again, now at a pace that was more of a slow jog.
"Well that was weird", I thought to myself. Knowing that I wasn't fully out of the woods until I got back to the hotel, I broke into a run. I was determined to put this whole thing behind me and get back to the hotel to get some rest. It had been a hectic day. I was just starting to relax a bit when I heard heavy footsteps behind me, as if someone was chasing me. Suddenly, I felt something hard and heavy connect with the back of my head.
I staggered back a bit, wincing at the pain in my head as I reached back to check if I was bleeding. Thankfully I wasn't, but just as I looked up to see the attacker, a fist met my face and I felt my nose crack. That was definitely going to be bleeding. I reached for my knife to find that the attacker had already slipped it from my pocket somehow. You had to give it to whoever this was, they were good.
Unknown: "Looking for this?"
I heard the blade of my knife being flipped out as the assailant grabbed my shoulder and put me in a chokehold. I felt the cold steel of my knife being held against my throat. shit. "what do I do now?" I panicked.
Unknown: "this would be a good time to give me your wallet and whatever's in that bag. Rich guy like you could spare a couple hundred dollar bills for your life, couldn't you?"
I was trapped. I handed him my wallet, and the paper bag with the Aspirin in it. He took it from me, then closed my knife and turned to leave. Suddenly, he turned back around and punched me in the gut.
Unknown: "You won't tell anyone who I am."
And then he ran off.
I was in a lot of pain. I slumped against the wall for a couple of seconds, before my legs gave way and I fell on my butt."Well I hope I didn't break my ass again with that fall," I joked with myself, trying to cheer up again. I needed to call someone for help. No way I could make it back to the hotel on my own now. I pulled the sleeves of my jackets down to cover my frozen hands. Thankfully, the attacker hadn't taken my phone. Pretty dumb move for such a smart guy. But whatever. I wasn't complaining. I picked up my phone and clicked on the first contact. It was Jack.
F: Hey
F: come get me, please
F: I'm at (address)
J: Felix!?
J:Are you alright?
J: are you hurt?? Hello??
J: Hang on! I'm coming to get you
I could feel blood trickling from my nose. I wasn't breathing well, either. That last punch had knocked the air out of me. The worst part of it all was that this was a situation that was all too familiar. Laying alone, bleeding and in pain. This had happened before. I felt myself being pulled into a flashback. My therapist had always told me to try my hardest to resist flashbacks. They could put me in a depressive episode for weeks, sometimes months at a time. But this time I didn't have the energy to resist, so I let my memories consume me.
And then everything faded to black.

Hi people! this was a long chapter, sorry about that. I had to introduce some info to the story so it was long. It was fun to write, though. I will try to update every day, but if school and extracurriculars become too much, I might change it to every other day. But thats for the future. For now at least, I hope you guys liked the chapter. Any feedback at all would be really appreciated. I want to learn and grow as a writer, and feedback is the best way to do it. Even if you don't have feedback, comment and let me know if you liked it. And if you liked it, please give it a vote!
