The king of this country wasn't competent. In fact, the reason why this country hasn't been invaded yet was due to the Queen and Butler.
Which is why, the crown prince was determined to not become like his father. Though, in my opinion, I think he became more of a grey, until he met the heroine, which he turned completely black and foolish.
To be a king, it is not good to be a shade of white. To be kind, forgiving. The country would fall in ruins. There will always be greedy humans everywhere, seeking the downfall of others.
The king of this country does nothing but lounge around all day in his palace, having his concubine feed and tend to his needs at his every beck and call.
The only reason he managed to become king was because his other siblings had ended up killing each other. By poisoning, assassinating. His behaviour remained repulsive even when he was young, which was why none of his siblings saw him as a threat and decided to leave him for last.
Alas, it was sad that they all got stabbed by a double edged sword.
Like love. Exactly like it.
The King's Wife, the Queen, was a foreigner. She was a princess of a fallen kingdom and had been married to the King due to some unforeseen circumstances. She was very beautiful, with dark-toned skin, purpled rain coloured hair and topaz coloured eyes.
Whereas, the father had dark grey eyes, snow-white hair and fair skin. Although he was despicable, he was still handsome. What a waste of good looks on someone like him.
Evan Gladian, the crown prince, inherited his father's eyes and hair colour, whereas, he inherited his mother's skin tone.
He has snow-white long hair, deep bronze coloured skin, and dark grey eyes.
He often gives off an aura of aloofness and elegance from first glance. However, that doesn't stop him from putting on all smiles and always seemingly helping the citizens in order to raise his position in their hearts.
A kingdom, can never function without their citizens, I'm glad that he actually has that logic in his brain. It seems he has a decent amount of intelligence. How delightful.

(I apologise if I got the skin colour wrong, I tried searching up google and I decided to choose bronze as it seemed the closest to his skin colour) _____________
The Queen and King didn't care about each other, minding their own businesses.
The Queen simply handles the concubines' and government matters, making sure they're all in check. Meanwhile, she passes the rest of her responsibilities to the trusted butler, who handles the finances and army matters.
But because he's also busy with other matters, such as taking care of the castle and servants. He wouldn't put too much care into trying to protect this 'matters' and unconsciously put it as a second, third or even fourth priority.
Finances and Army Issues are all sent to the King's Working Chambers. The butler will sort through them and make necessary arrangements once a week. They are, however, guarded, of course.
The Queen is inexperienced, she has never been given the queen training course before, so as expected, she doesn't put much thoughts into this and focused on retaining her position.
But... It's no issue.
After all, it seems like the members of the royalty doesn't put much into this matters, they have taken it for granted. For the generals of the armies have given their utmost loyalty to the kingdom and would do anything to protect it, resulting in a well-secured defense power.
Often, when they come back to make their daily reports, they are deceived by the friendly and so-called 'appreciative acts' that the royalty presents.
Thus, seeing their efforts well praised and given such high gratitude, they would naturally have the feeling of doing their job even better.
It's sad, that they are rather... Foolish.
Though, I do admire their intentions. Very admirable.
Because most of the times, humans are praise-greedy. As one, rarely praises another.
