The Lockdown

Not very many took COVID-19 Seriously. And we thought this will be just like any viruses we had in the past. The problem is it spread so quickly with no vaccine, the world decided to take necessary actions. 

The State Of Emergency which in this situation the government is empowered to be able to put through policies that it would normally not be permitted to do, for the safety and protection of its citizens. COVID-19 is an ongoing global pandemic and the world decided to have a complete lockdown to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Streets are now empty

The world became so quiet... Eerie quiet. There's hardly anyone on the street. There are hardly any vehicles, something that you can only experience during the night.

For everyone's safety, there are new restrictions such as reducing social contacts to your household only. Social gatherings aren't allowed. Restricting travels, Non-essential travel is discouraged. Retail businesses that are listed as critical services, such as groceries and pharmacies, can stay open at 25 percent capacity with safety protocols like having hand sanitizers ready for their customers. People are required to wear a face mask before entering. 

Retail businesses that aren't listed as critical services can only provide e-service, curbside pickup, and delivery. Closing religious and cultural gatherings, but they can be provided virtually; Closing gyms and fitness centers; Closing restaurants to the public. Restaurants can stay open for delivery, drive-thru, and takeout; and Closing all recreational activities, sports facilities, casinos, museums, galleries, libraries, movie theatres, and concert halls.

Schools are all closed. This school year is different, the moment that the announcement of lockdown and the students are unable to see their schoolmates, classmates, and teachers, depression starts to kick in. They are just at home with no interconnections with their friends is hard.

Yes, there was a Prom! Only Virtual. The teenagers became so frustrated and at the same time starts to become more creative so they can still enjoy the moment of having a prom.

Because of COVID-19 Graduation Ceremonies were completely different than the usual. The graduates of 2020 march with their face mask on, they are required to have social distancing and some just had a virtual graduation ceremony.

So you know when kids are sometimes don't feel like going to school, skipping classes, not paying much attention during class? Yes, now the attitude towards going to school in the year 2020 changed.

Because of the lockdown, we all think differently. We all wish that the pandemic will soon end, but it's far from over.
