this was it. this was the day i was leaving my whole life behind and moving to NY. the road here hadn't been easy. convincing my parents i would be fine was the hardest part, until now...i never realized how hard it would be to leave everything and everyone i've ever known behind. i'm moving halfway across the country it's scary knowing you won't know anyone and you won't have any responsibilities. luckily i got a job lined up already i'm going to be a stylist for this big agency. i was so surprised when i heard i got the job never in a million years did i think i would end up here, but this was it the big move, and i was ready or so i thought.

i was in my new apartment in the city. i was halfway unpacked but had yet to see the girl i was staying with. i had met her before we went to school together in middle school and were pretty close but she moved. we kept in touch a little bit it was mostly a hey how have you been every now and then but i still had her on snap and watched her stories and i wasn't gonna lie her life in the city looked fun as hell. i was suddenly brought out of my thoughts when i heard the door open i turned at saw her. "eeeeekkkk" she screamed and ran to me "i can't believe you're here after all this time" she said pretty excited "i know i've missed you thank you so much for letting me stay with you" "girl it's honestly better for me i was dying trying to pay rent for this two bedroom and i was super lonely so you're kinda helping me out" i laughed at her response "so tell me everything i need to know about the city" i said trying to prepare for my new life. she helped me finish unpacking while telling me all the things i could possibly need to know.

we talked for hours and drank a whole bottle of wine afterwards i felt like my brain was hurting for all the knowledge of the city, or maybe it was the three glasses of wine mixed with the sleep deprivation from the move, either way i needed sleep and i planned on sleeping in the next day. jenny (her roommate) was gonna take me to come of her favorite clubs tomorrow night and introduce me to her friends so i needed sleep knowing i wasn't gonna get any the following night. i got ready for bed brushed my teeth and laid down thinking about the life i left behind but also about the amazing life i'm gonna have here. i had a feeling deep down that this was gonna be great. and with that i turned off my light and drifted to sleep
