“Silencio.” Aurora cut him off. Joel furrowed his eyebrows, confused at her words. “Did you just say a spell from Harry Potter?”

“I just did.” She snorted and added. “I mean, it did work. Made you stop talking and all.” He couldn't help but chuckle at her and she joined him.

The french brunette sighed. “Seriously though, Joel, we talked about this.” He looked down at his lap but Aurora grabbed his cheeks and made him face her. “You aren't and never will be useless. Quit saying that. And we both know that we couldn't have done anything to save Connor. It was the monster that took him as a target and not you—”

“But if I could have jus—”

“Then what could you have done?” She questioned with finality. Ending both of their sentence cutting competition. Joel went silent and thought about her question. “Nothing. There was nothing that we could've done to save him. Cause even if we did, then one of us wouldn't be here right now.”

Processing her words, Joel stayed silent for a few more minutes. Aurora sighed and placed her hand on his own, he was quick to turn his palm over and entwined both of their hands. This action alone made him feel mixed emotions in the pits of his stomach. He felt warm when she held his hand. Like he knew he was protected and it made him want to smile from giddines— He shook his thoughts away, remembering that he has a girlfriend. Clearing his throat, he slowly removed his hand from hers, not seeing the obvious frown from the girl as she was quick to hide it.

Quit it, Aurora. He has a girlfriend. She thought and waited patiently for Joel's reply. He nodded and gave her a sincere smile. “Your comforting skills are very impressive.”

She smirked playfully, “Wanna know what else I'm impressive at?” With the added wiggle of her eyebrows, the boy snickered.

They both talked for another hour about random things and exchanged laughs. Joel admits to himself on how lucky he has been on meeting Aurora Kingsley. She's the girl every boy could ask for. He was just too blind to see that he was one of those boys that needed her.

Aurora sighed as she walked away from the radio room. She wasn't even inside but she could feel the happiness radiating off of Joel. His voice alone made her heart pinch in pain as it sounded so joyful that he managed to contact Aimee. Pulling her hair on a ponytail as she continued walking through the halls, not bothering to eavesdrop on Joel since she respected his privacy. It pained her, but she did this to herself. She knew that he has a girlfriend since the first week they introduced themselves but she couldn't help falling for his charms. Like the way he smiles that makes his eyes crinkle, the way he furrows his brows when he thinks about something, the way he turns serious when he really wants to help, and a lot more. Hell, she could write a whole essay about how she managed to fall for a guy who has a damn girlfriend. The pain she felt is like a wound that keeps getting soaked in alcohol. And just like how most wounds get soaked in alcohol, she hoped that her pain would also subside and heal.

Sometimes she wonders if coming here was even the right decision to make. If I didn't come here, would I still be out there having an adventure? Maybe she would still be with her companions, yeah. We'd make a wonderful trio. Killing shit and all. She thought and had a small smile appear on her face. She would slap me if she knew my situation right now. She couldn't help but chuckle at what her female friend would do if she knew about Aurora's scandalous situation.

“I'm going soft. I'm loosing my bitchiness and I need to regain it. ASAP.” She whispered to herself. Salazar Slytherin would be so pissed. She chuckled at her thoughts. Not knowing how she even managed to think about her Hogwart's house. Then she remembered, she was also losing her weirdness. Weirdness considering of her quoting her favorite books and movies, but most importantly, her obsession with Harry Potter spells. She took note of that and continued on with her day.
