I had stood up while texting, so I threw my phone onto my bed and shook out my hair, quickly walking to my bathroom to wash my face. I scrubbed all my makeup off and patted my face dry with a towel. CJ!
I ran back to my bed, picked up my phone and speed-dialed Callie.
"Callie! Oh my gosh I almost forgot. Are you going to the party tonight?" I rushed.
"Uh... are you?" She asked. I could almost hear the gears in her head turning.
I turned to my closet and started flicking through my dresses. "Yeah, I'm going with Blaze, I don't know what to wear."
I heard a small intake of breath and I could almost see CJ's face at my words.
"Um, I can't come, family stuff. But you should wear that scoop neck plum shirt with the half sleeves, and a white short skirt. Or you know that light grey one? That would be cute."
That would be perfect. "Thanks so much, Callie. And shoes?"
"Hmm, plum or white would be best; go for sandals," She decided.
"Callie, you're the best. Thanks so much. Are you sure you can't come?" I asked, flicking through my clothes again to find what CJ had said.
"Yeah, it's okay though, there'll be other parties. Go have fun." She assured me.
"Okay, I gotta go, see you tomorrow?" I asked.
"No, no, you have to tell me everything. E-ver-y-thing," Callie informed me, laughing.
"Fine. I'll call you later then?"
"Yeah, bye."
"Bye."
Now I had less time, but the right clothes. I changed quickly and picked a pair of white wedge sandals.
I went back into my bathroom and brushed on a light layer of foundation and powder, adding just the tiniest amount of blush. I carefully drew on my eyeliner, smudging it a little and lacing mascara over my eyelashes. I dotted on a tiny bit of lipstick, rubbing it in for a light color. There. I ran a brush through my hair, straightened it, and fluffed it up a little. Done.
