An Errink Oneshot
In which...
Error and Ink share a dance at a 'secret underwater party adventure' before everything goes to hell.
———
Ink's eyes were alight with a familiar curious excitement, coupled with the same yearning to join the dancing pairs that shone under Outertale's starlight.
Slow dance with you
Error let out an amused huff before taking the Guardian of Creation's lithe hand to drag him into the midst of the Etherian outlaws, mercenaries, and whatnot. The smaller of the two let out a soft yelp as his gaze came to their hands. The magical sense of that first dance came crashing back, lighting his cheeks a fierce red and warming his chest. His free hand wandered to a special vial, whose untouched star topper gleamed even in the dim lighting of the soirée while the somehow distinct mixture of pink and green swished inside.
I just wanna slow dance with you
The Destroyer came to a stop close to the middle of the party, drawing Ink close and into a tight embrace. Immediately Ink's free hand came to rest at Error's shoulder while Error's other hand held Ink's waist securely. Their eyes met, a million questions in each other's gaze, some weightier than others.
I know all the other boys
"It feels weird to ask this." Ink admitted, resting his forehead on Error's shoulder.
"To ask what?" The taller questioned, already beginning to carefully lead them both through the steps.
"Do you want to do this?"
He smiled, "Yes, Kiky, I do."
Are tough and smooth
The fluidity of it all came naturally as they sunk into their own intimate world of dance and adoration. They leaned into each other's warmth, savoring every moment that they were close like this.
And I've got the blues
"Hey, Ruru?"
The taller peered down at his loved one's mismatched eyes, "Yeah?"
He received a sweet smile as the Guardian pressed his face against Error's shoulders, the red in his cheeks spreading traitorously to his ears. "I've missed this."
The Destroyer held Ink just a little closer, wave of love crashing over his Soul as he responded, "So have I."
I wanna slow dance with you
The only thing missing from the moment were the stars. Those of Etheria would never be as magnificent as the ones that they were graced with in Outertale all those nights ago, but they would be enough. For now, though, Error could admire that the sunlight barely filtering down through the water and casting luminous patterns over them was pretty in its own way.
I wanna slow dance with you
At least this time his former friends wouldn't be interrupting the moment. Not that it would matter to either of them if they had an audience. If they wished to kiss, then they would. No amount of eyes on their beings would change how much they loved each other- how much they loved being close, becoming one in the most pure sense that only monsters of their caliber would be able to offer either of them. They were the missing pieces to the other's pieces, the only hand in which the other's fit.
I just wanna slow dance with you
Ink's hands wandered upwards to cup Error's face, the latter's own grip securing the lithe waist. There was a unique match between them, with how perfectly Ink would fit in Error's embrace and how the Destroyer's face rested in Ink's hands so immaculately.
Why don't you take the chance?
"Hey Ruru?" Ink asked again, his gaze locked with Error's.
A soft smile graced the other's lips, "Hey Kiky."
He almost missed the sharp little intake of breath the Guardian took as his eyes shifted color to reflect prismatic pink and yellow.
"Thank you."
I've got the moves I'd like to prove
"For?"
"For staying."
Error lifted a hand to caress Ink's face, "I'll always stay with you."
"I know."
They belonged when they were together, dysfunctional and confused as they were but no less in love with and adored by the other.
"Hey Kiky?"
"Yeah?"
I wanna slow dance with you
"I love you."
