Chapter 12 watin' out the storm

The week went well after our second date everything was fun especially sneaking around dad we snuck kisses and whispers, all the way until Thursday where everything went downhill and that's how I'm here with Ethan herding horses into he barn with very little luck and time toward was meant to be a calm day but then oh what happens a blizzard a freaking blizzard how fun it's so fun herding cattle and horses on such a short amount of time while snow swirled around us wasn't fun at all.

after quickly herding everything up we run towards the house barging in and slamming the door closed and bolting it sighing in relief I am finally able to greet the one person whos occupied my mind

" Hey Ethan," I say pecking his cheek which he copies while taking my shoes off since my hands are frozen

" Hey darlin', sorry I didn't greet you"

"it's fine really, have you seen outside"

" common let's get that jacket off you" he mumbles unzipping it to reveal my pajama top

" Really?" he asks playfully tugging the bottom of my shirt

"what I was in a rush," I say looking away to which he pulls my head back to face his and softly kisses my lips before moving onto his boots

" go get changed into some dry clothes don't want you to get ill," he said with concern so I did what he said and got changed into a warm cream sweater and black jeans arriving back downstairs I was greeted by Ethan holding my mug out to me with a hot beverage inside smiling I closed my eyes and walked towards him and sniffed the cup

"hmmm is it coffee?" I ask playfully

"no"

" a latte?"

"no"

" a capa-"

"it doesn't contain caffeine " he joked I could hear the smile on his face

" hmm is it something I truly love?"

"possibly"

"hmm is it sweet?"

"yes

"is it you?" I say opening my eyes looking at him

"oh how I wish," he said handing the cup to me before pulling me into a side hug

"you know one would think you're obsessed with hot chocolate," he said taking a sip out of his cup

"well I am so love me how I am or get out," I said playfully hitting his arm

"oh I could never leave you now common your dad brought the board games out and just so you know I'm gonna beat your ass in monopoly," he said walking ahead of me and into the living room

" hey dad" I greet sitting next to Ethan

"Hey hon I've gotten some board games the TVs out," he said making me groan and place my head on Ethan's shoulder

"hey no affection here, " dad said loudly making me jump

" dad I'm tired its six in the morning and I want to sleep," I said yawning before placing my head back on Ethan's shoulder

"oh fine ill let you get away with it just this once" dad grumbled before looking away as if he hadn't seen and set up the board soon a game was in motion dad being the banker splitting my start-up money I hide some behind me a thing I do I like to call it my savings and add to it every time I get some money

" I'm going to buy park avenue," I say handing the money over and receiving the card, I now fully own all the dark blue and pink real estate grinning I place the card with the others

"How the hell are you payin' for this?" Ethan askes raking his hand through his lovely hair that I wish I could touch

" Are you cheating ?" dad asked sternly looking at me to which I shake my head

" no course not," I say confidently before the game picks up again and gets more competitive which ends up with everyone huffing and me grinning happily waving my money round in a paper fan as I dance around the living room

" she had to have cheated "I heard Ethan say towards my dad to which he agreed

grinning I dump the money on the board and dove onto the couch next to Ethan and dad

" Alright I'm going to go and find a way to make lunch you kids behave and clean this mess up," he said before leaving us alone sighing I lean and place my head on his shoulder inhaling his masculine scent. closing my eyes I take in his arms as his arm slides along the back of the couch and onto my shoulder before sliding up to my head his hand cupping it and his thumb stroking my hair

"shh go to sleep I know you're tired" he softly murmured pulling me closer towards him smiling I softy give into temptation and fall asleep.

soon I had woken up to have lunch before curling up on the couch with a book I found however this time it was Ethan asleep on my lap as I read h#is feet hanging over the couch I had my book in one hand and his head in the other this was the first time I had touched his hair and was able to enjoy it for a lot longer and soon before I knew it was dinner time which was very awkward to cook and the storm hadn't lightened up it only got worse so much that Ethan had to stay with us however he was to sleep on the couch

tossing again I couldn't get comfortable the bed felt like it wouldn't settle sighing I kick the covers off and grab my pillow wearing only leggings and a sweater I shuffled down the stairs and into the living room where I saw his large form his feet and some of his leg hanging off the armrest of the couch.

shuffling towards his form I gaze across where the blanket rested his arms bare which meant he removed his shirt and sweater. carefully placing my pillow next to his I slowly and carefully lie down on the edge I'm startled when an arm wraps around my waist and pulls me into a hot warm body

" what you doing" he hoarsely whispered his voice deep and filled with sleepiness

" couldn't sleep" I whisper back

"oh poor baby, my poor darlin' couldn't sleep," he said softly as he turned to his side and pulled me flush against him and snuggled his head into my neck slightly kissing it before snuggling into my again his arms tightly around me

"night night" he whispered before his breaths even out and a few seconds later I was out like a light from his steady breaths and the storm outside
