"Haven't heard of you for two days, what happened to you?"

Mahina akong natawa sa sinabi niya sa kabilang linya. "I have work, Amethyst. Lots of it."

"Okay.." she hummed. "Let's meet later?"

Inipit ko ang cellphone sa pagitan ng tainga at balikat ko saka binalikan ang dokumentong ginagawa ko.

"I told you I have lots of work to do.." I sighed. "Ayain mo si Daniel."

She laughed. "Of couse Daniel is there! Si Joaquin din at Faye."

"Ayun naman pala. They're there! Hindi na ako kailangan diyan."

She hissed. "Basta! Dalhin mo rito 'yang trabaho mo at tutulungan ka pa namin!"

The line ended with that. I rolled my eyes. Demanding! Pasalamat siya at malakas siya sa akin kung hindi ay hindi ko sila pupuntahan. It will be awkward to see Joaquin. Galit pa rin sa akin ang isang iyon. Kahapon nga ay halos hindi niya ako pansinin.

I finished the paper I was making and sipped on my coffee. Nang tumunog na naman ang cellphone ko ay agad kong tinignan kung sino iyon.

Ayden:

              Don't tire yourself. You don't need to work hard.

Napangiti ako nang mabasa ko ang mensahe niya. I immediately typed my reply to him.

To Ayden:

                Don't tire yourself, too. But unlike me, you need to work hard, sir.

I hit send and pulled another folder on my shelf. Hindi ko pa nasisimulang basahin iyon ay agad na akong nakatanggap ng reply.

Ayden:

                Why are you calling me sir? You want to work for me?

I chuckled and typed once again.

To Ayden:

                 Nope. I just thought that the COO should be addressed as 'sir'. Anyway, I'm busy. See you at home, sir.

Hinintay ko muna ang reply niya bago tuluyang simulan ang babasahin. I smiled and turned off my phone when I read his message.

Ayden:

                 You can work here instead. I'm thinking about you being my secretary but the Salazar heiress can't work as a secretary, right?

Natapos ang umaga na puro iyon ang ginawa ko. I am scheduled to visit different work teams tomorrow with Mathias. Si daddy naman ay nagdemand muli ng lunch naming dalawa. It's great for me, though. Noon ay hindi naman kami nagkakasama sa hapag nang madalas. Ngayon, siya pa ang nag-iinitiate na magsabay kami.

"Anastasia, your mom is caging herself inside the house."

Kumunot ang noo ko. I smiled at the waiter who placed another bowl on our table. Mayroon namang chef sa building ngunit pinili niya pa ring dito kumain dahil gusto niya raw ng Japanese cuisine.

"Is there any problem?"

"I don't know. You know I never understand women!"

Mahina akong natawa. He doesn't understand women because he doesn't try to. Lagi siyang wala sa bahay at hindi nagbibigay ng oras para sa amin. Paano niya maiintindihan?

"Alright. Pupuntahan ko siya mamaya."

He nodded and looked relieved. Matapos kumain ay bumalik na rin naman kami agad sa opisina. Daddy lifted some of my paperworks para makauwi at mapuntahan ko si mommy sa bahay. I have no idea what her problem is. Is it money? Friends? Or dad?
