𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐲 𝐧𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐡𝐢𝐦, kenma didnt even know how to talk to you right now- you had begun to realize his exact feelings for you, the extact opposite of what he wanted right now. after levs little slip up- kenma had been avoiding you completely. he was terrified that you were going to reject him even though he wasnt even sure if you knew.

"kenma-"

he didnt look back and instead sped up his walk towards the gym,

"kenma!"

you said it a little louder this time but he still didnt look back,

"KOZUME KENMA, YOU STOP AND LISTEN TO ME RIGHT NOW."

he immediately stopped, he still didnt look back. instead he just froze in place, eyes pressed shut and not speaking, "kenma just listen to me-" he sighed and stared at you, the tired expression that he normally wore had returned to his face, "im listening." you gave a weak smile and nodded, "thank you. now correct me if im wrong but-"

he braced himself for whatever was next,

"you like me dont you? like- you have a crush on me? i mean it would explain a lot and i-"

this. this was what he was so afraid of, him not being able to tell you himself- so he panicked, and he lied.

"i dont like you. and i certainly dont have a crush on you. so dont worry about it and go be with someone else."

he pushed past you, leaving your mouth agape. he was left shaken up from the whole confrontation as he pushed the gym door open as slipped past the rest of his team. kuroo was the only one who seemed to notice the tensed air around kenma, following him to the club room,

"kenma- you good?"

"y-yeah."

kuroo awkwardly laughed as he closed the door to the small room, "im serious kenma- what happened did, you-" he stopped kuroo short of the rest of his sentence, "i rejected her before she could reject me."

you didnt really do much when you got home that afternoon, it wasnt a particularly good day after that whole ordeal with kenma. he didnt even bother texting you- which, did feel a bit harsh. you saw clearly that he was online- active on discord- playing overwatch (presumably by himself) you sent a quick message,
