a sport event. just what beomgyu needs. as if normal lessons aren't enough.

the fact that taehyun isn't in his team makes it worse. school thought it'd be a good idea to mix every year in one team, making it a school event.

and of course is the one and only yeonjun in his team. which didn't work out in his favour.

beomgyu managed to accidentally smack a volleyball onto the back of yeonjun's head. he knocked himself and yeonjun over as he was trying to catch a ball at baseball. he also hit yeonjun's knees with a hockeystick at hockey.

in beomgyu's defence, yeonjun is always in his way.

his team decided to not pick him again to play, as they don't think yeonjun will survive if beomgyu plays. now he lays flat on his back in the grass field on the side lines.

he feels his black sweatpants absorb the suns warmth. he decides to stand up before he gets a sunburn, but immediately gets knocked down by a soccer ball in his face.

there he lies again, but this time with a bloody nose. he gets up again feeling dizzy.

he ignores the stars that he sees and starts yelling "which one of y'all fuckers is testing me?!"

he hears taehyun yell out to him while his eyes roll back and he passes out.

beomgyu opens his eyes. he shoots up and a nasty headache hits him hard. "fucking sports."

"i'm so sorry beomgyu. i didn't see you in time." yeonjun says guilty.

"fucking yeonjun. did you try to get back at me? it was an accident please." beomgyu gets up.

"you shouldn't get up yet. should i get the school nurse?" yeonjun asks worried ignoring the accusations.

beomgyu looks around. "how am i still at school? i passed out, can't i go home?"

although beomgyu gave him a hard time, yeonjun still feels bad for knocking him out.

"the fact that they didn't even bother to call my parents. common." beomgyu grabs his light backpack.

yeonjun follows beomgyu. "wait i'll walk you home."

"no. go play sports." beomgyu waves him off.

"uhm see you tomorrow?" yeonjun yells after him.

beomgyu waves and leaves yeonjun alone in the hallway.

beomgyu is late. he barely remembers anything from yesterday. his parents didn't even realise his bruised face. they were too busy yelling in each other's faces.

he just slept all day and through his alarm. his parents didn't bother waking him up, they just left without saying anything. now he's running through the school and finally enters his class.

luckily he was allowed to enter the classroom. it was hard to pay attention but he managed to go through the first few lessons.

his goal was to try and ask yeonjun out. he planned to do it yesterday, but that didn't work out.

he remembers when he had asked his parents for advise, it ended in a fight.

beomgyu smiles as he sees yeonjun standing against the wall. "hi yeonjun."

"yo beomgyu, how's your head? does it still hurt?"

"it's fine. although i barely remember anything from yesterday." he scratches his head.

"oh that sucks, i'm so sorry." yeonjun feels guilty again.

"it's okay you didn't do anything. only the jerk who shot that ball is to blame." beomgyu balls his fists.

"uhm have you been to a doctor? i don't think memory loss is a great sign." yeonjun asks worried.

beomgyu waves it off. "nahh i didn't feel like getting myself all the way to the hospital. but anyways i wanted to talk to you."

yeonjun smiles at the thought of beomgyu wanting to talk with him. "what's up."

"well-"

the bell rings and the hallways gets flooded with students. beomgyu gets lightly pushed and looses his balance. he falls against yeonjun who harshly slams into the locker next to him.

beomgyu jumps away from yeonjun as quick as possible. "i'm so sorry."

"funny how every time i see you, i end up bruised and or in pain." and with that yeonjun walks away.

beomgyu stays behind confused, not sure if yeonjun was mad. he doesn't mean to hurt yeonjun all the time. perhaps it's bad luck.

beomgyu is so bummed that he sits the whole break and class with his face on the table. the only thing he gained is detention.

"common gyu, you still have a chance don't be discouraged." taehyun tries as he hands beomgyu some chocolate milk.

"i guess...." beomgyu turns around and bumps into someone, spilling his chocolate milk all over them. "omg i'm so sorry."

"i'm wearing white for fuck sake. you hurting me is already enough, so i don't need you to ruin my clothes too!" yeonjun says annoyed.

"no it was an accident. please i'm sorry." beomgyu pleads.

"i hate you, get out of my way." yeonjun pushes beomgyu away while walking forward.

although yeonjun said a harsh thing to him, beomgyu feels the butterflies in his stomach acting up.

"gyu? are you okay?" taehyun stares at beomgyu's blank face.

beomgyu nods. "i'm fine. let's go."

"want new chocolate milk?" taehyun asks unsure.

"i won't ever drink chocolate milk again." he looks at taehyun and they both fall into laughter.

.
.
.

one sentence. three words. eight letters.
i hate you.

beomgyu's mind is filled with yeonjun saying 'i hate you'. detention is better with his mind like this.

"beomgyu start cleaning the tables." the teacher says handing him a wet and a dry cloth.

"yes sir." beomgyu starts cleaning right away.

"next time, don't sleep in class." he says stern before walking away.

beomgyu rolls his eyes. "i wasn't even sleeping, but go off i guess."

after an hour of cleaning beomgyu's finally allowed to leave. when he finally arrives home, the house is quiet. he wonders where his parents are, but doesn't give it a second thought.
