Zamya's POV:

I was sitting inside of In and Out amazed that one I was actually in California. Two I had actually just got accepted into the performing arts program in one of the top music colleges in California. I for starters can't believe my parents even allowed me to come out here to begin with. I mean I guess it was pretty understandable since my brother was out here and my cousin was too. At least they knew I was being protected.

I couldn't wait to officially move out here though. I was just here to do my audition and to see the school campus. Until I had to return in a few weeks before classes started. It was gonna be me and Rayona really; against the world for the most part. If you told me 3 years ago I would've got the chance to start living my dreams out in California, I would've said you were lying. It was amazing I was finally going to have some independency in my life.

"So, what time we have to be at the apartments?" Rayona asked making me lose my train of thoughts.

"In like an hour, you got your piece of the deposit right and rent?" I asked humorously, because I knew she was going to give me a sarcastic answer.

"Damn, I think I left it back home on my bed in Michigan." She said straight facing me.

"Rayona, why are you like this?"

"Well, why ask questions you already know the answer to. Girl, we needed a money order anyway. So it's just a dumb question to ask to begin with." She said crossing her arms over her chest and leaning back in her seat.

It was going to be a mess I knew already with it just being me and her, living by ourselves and going to the same college. But very different schedules since she was going for animation. But we're still on the course of making it together. Which I love the most about it all.

"I should fight you and your smart mouth, but we in public." I laughed.

"I ain't scared, we can take this outside." She said like she was serious.

"Girl, bye." I said waving my hand at her out and she reached over and pinched it.

"Ouch." I exclaimed pulling my hand back.

"You wanted to be big bad Zamya." She said putting her arms up in surrender.

This was a great moment, I will cherish though it was apart of the beginning of our new journey. Finally leaving the nest and getting away from our overly sheltered family, to just simply live life as we know it. To start a journey on being ourselves.

We got to the off campus student apartments and it was actually beautiful and we were just on the outside. I was stunt almost that this was in her price rage for us. You can see almost all if not all units had their own balcony or patio. It had like a blue like glass exterior of the building. A glowing side that neatly read the name of the apartment. A beautiful landscape that was nicely upkeep. I can tell already I was going to love living here.

It was about $2,500 which seems like a lot but we're going to be in a expensive city. Los Angles, California at that; so it was no big deal especially since we were splitting the cost anyway. Seems like a lot but took a lot of saving. Honestly, it has been our plan since we were little to move to California together. So we had years of money saved just in case we finally found the courage to move here.

"Come on and stopped day dreaming." Rayona said bumping me in my shoulder.

"Girl, you got one more time." I said smacking her arm.

"Whatever, come on." She said opening the entrance of the apartment's lobby. We walked in but was stopped from going all the way in. There was a security entrance once you got inside. So we had to wait to be bussed in, by someone. Within seconds we were bussed in and greeted by a tall light skin guy. He on a very like causal suit. He had the jacket unbutton and a black polo shirt to show.
