"No, no, you moved on by letting me go completely from your mind," he said brushing his hand against his hair in frustration, "you went without saying goodbye." They were now near his car.
"I didn't have a choice," she said with her voice little higher than normal, "You have no idea what is it like to not knowing things. Not knowing whom to trust." She turned her back from him and started moving towards her car, when he pulled her by the arms towards him and added, "And you don't know what is it like to live with those memories. I still remember them and now imagine what is like living with those memories without that one person that you shared all those beautiful memories with."
"That person does not remember them." She said pushing herself away from him.
He was hurt by her words and stood speechless in front of her. She realized that she might have said a little bit much and said, "Listen Aaron, I am sorry that I don't remember things but from what you have told me so far, it will hurt us more, it will hurt you more. Don't do this to yourself."
"No no, please don't say sorry. It is all my fault. I didn't realise what I lost that night or what was I saying. I was not even willing to try."
"What are you talking about?"
"I have understood it now. I will fight for what we have. I wont let us hurt again. I was blind to not see how I could have prevented it all from happening. I didn't even talk to them properly about us and gave up without even trying," He hold her both arms while saying and she didn't stop him, "Lets give us one more chance. We can remain friends if you like as long as you promise not going around busting your head to forget me." He traced her scar on her head and his heart began heavy looking at her. She stood in front of him weighing the situation.
She wanted to ask, and what happens next? I thought this could be a goodbye that we needed to give each other. The past problem of it not working out is still dangling over our head. Will we be able to handle it?, but her heart gave in. She wanted to be with him as much as he wanted to be with her despite the uncertainty.
He brought his hands to her shoulder and said not being able to withstand her silence anymore, "Don't you feel like you can talk to me. Don't you think some part of your heart recognizes me? Don't you feel like you can trust me?"
She raised her head looking at him, "I do feel like I can trust you but I am still not clear on how our conversation might have went in past."
"We didn't have... ok then I have got an idea, what about we start from the beginning. Let's get to know each other better once more. I deserve your wrath and trust me I have suffered last year and if starting all over can help me get you back, I am looking forward to it."
"Hey, but you have an upper hand over it."
He took one step backward while saying, "Fair enough. Then how about let's just start with simple date night. I won't bring up anything from our common past or anything I know already."
"That doesn't sound that bad." She wanted to meet him again.
"Lumanti would you like to go on a date with me?"
"Hmm, You don't seem so bad yourself Aaron, let's go on a date." She said. Not a while ago, they were confronting each other over their issues and they were now trying to mend a past over a date.
"It feels so weird to hear my name from you because you never... ok sorry we are not going there. I am glad you want to go on a date with me. Shall I pick you up tomorrow at 5 in the evening?", He asked.
"Hmm, you almost broke your own rule huh. Sure, I shall be waiting for you but where are you taking me?"
"It's a surprise."
"Should I be worried?" She joked.
"Hmm, ok for your peace of mind, I will be taking you to a restaurant for dinner and you can ask Ri to track you from your phone so I don't kidnap you."
She laughed at his suggestion and agreed to it. She felt warm and happy about this conversation and was really excited for their date night. They got into their own car after saying goodbye and this time, he moved forward and gave her hug that he was longing to do since he saw her earlier.
