I'm going to be honest, you won't really get this unless you know about the Winter, Qibli, an Moon love triangle and how it ended. So that is why i shall explain it! This lovely dragon up here is Winter. He and Qibli both love Moon. And she, in the end, chose Qibli.
That is why i thought it would be perfect if it were Winter suffering from the Hanahaki Disease, which is a fictional disease that evolves from a one sided love where flowers grow in the victim's chest & lungs. The victim coughs blood and flower petals. In the end, you either die from lack of oxygen, or the lover returns the feelings of love (romantic).
