This book is not a story in itself. It is merely a companion to the serial Urban Fantasy Novel The Rising (also on Wattpad). This means that it gives background to the concepts, terms and people who form the universe of The Rising novels.
The Rising is set in a fictional reality very similar to ours. The only variation is a fantasy/paranormal element. A lot of the "basis" is grounded in fictionalized philosophy and concepts from world faiths and urban legend.
Unlike your everyday Fantasy, The Rising does not have a singular, badass, the-one-who-will-change-the-world hero. Yes, there is a main cast, but some events will hinge on the most minor characters.
If you have not read any of the Books in The Rising, stop. Go get a comfy chair, look for it on Wattpad and read it first. If you don't, a lot of the information revealed here would be a horrible spoiler fiesta.
