k still feels a bit down since ni-ki doesn't pick up again. he also feel disappointed to himself for being such a coward. for 3 years of hideout.
"maybe he's busy practicing for tomorrow."
k gives up. he lies down on his bed, with his phone beside his head. drowsiness starts to creep his body until he finds himself sleeping for hours.
he wakes up to his phone ringing. k reaches out for his phone and stands up automatically. he accepts the phone call before the time is too late. "ni-ki!" he squeals out of happiness.
but nobody answers. there was no sound. but k can hear a loud thud in his ear.
"ni-ki? are you there?"
k bites his lips out of nervousness. he only stands, but his heartbeat is as fast as how he runs.
after a long silence, the voice k doesn't expect to hear appear. "k hyung!"
k covers up his mouth, trying to swallow back his tears. "ni-ki!" but he fails. he broke down crying. he can't say anything but sobs.
"i'm so sorry." whispers k from the bottom of his heart.
"k hyung, don't cry!" another voice reached his ears.
k's lips start to form a smile. he wipes his tear. "heeseung? is that you, heeseung?" heeseung's voice also sounds deeper in person. it breaks k's heart, realizing he's never been there to watch enhypen grows.
"you still remember my voice!"
"of course! why would i forget you?" k answers.
k haven't hear heeseung's answer. but all he hears now is a different voice. "k hyung! it's me, jay."
"jay! it's been so long-" k's sentence got cut off.
"hyung. listen. we are free right now. if you're also free, let's meet up right now."
"what?"
not only k, the other members also got shocked. k can hear their reaction vaguely.
"jay hyung, you can't do that without the agency's permission!" "what if we get scolded!?" "tell me you're kidding right now." "our staff will hit us at our ass if we tell him our location right now!"
