"So, what did you want to talk about, Perce?" Leo asked as Percy entered his and Annabeth's living room, putting his backpack on the floor as he went. Percy had just gotten done with his third day of school, it was his sophomore year of college and, he was practically in the Fields of Punishment.

You see, for some context, students who go to New Rome University need to do at least one semester at Stanford so their diploma can be for a 'real' and 'mortal' college. Percy and Annabeth were currently at Stanford for their sophomore year and they wished that they were back in Oakland.

Percy sat down on the couch, putting his back against the arm rest so he could face everybody in the room, AKA The Seven. "So, I just got some news from Professor Anderson." Percy said, talking about his marine biology teacher. "Apparently Stanford is partnering with some company and the marine biology students can choose to study abroad. I wanted to know you guys' opinions on it, if I should do it or not."

"How long do you have to decide?" Annabeth asked, putting a hand on Percy's knee.

"About two weeks, the class leaves September 1st." He responded, deciding the hardwood flooring was more interesting than his friends' faces.

"Where would you be going, how long will you be there?" Jason asked, summoning some wind to force Percy's head to face them.

"I would be spending nine months in Sendai, Japan. I could come home the week of Christmas, though it's up to me if I want to come home or have people visit me there." Percy said, quietly. The Seven were all silently thinking, the only noise being the clock on the wall.

Annabeth, however, decided to break that tense silence.

"Percy, I love that you're asking us for our opinions but, in the end, it's your choice. I would be happy with anything you decide. Besides, it sounds like a good opportunity for you." She said, looking happy, though Percy could tell she was slightly worried for him. Percy looked at the other five people in the room and they all nodded, agreeing with Annabeth.

"Alright... Thanks guys."

A young woman sat at her living room table as her 'husband' was cooking dinner in the kitchen. She had pink hair and purple eyes, the woman looked around 24 though she was much... much older. She was looking through some papers she had mailed to her. Her 'husband' walked in with a plate of food and placed it in front of her. "What are you looking at now?"

"I heard that some exchange students from America are coming to the college nearby." She told him as he sat down. "I... I want to apply to be a host family to one of them while they're here."

"Kofuku. You know that's a bad idea. After Hiyori, I bet the gods don't want another human to worry about." He responded, starting to eat his bowl of rice.

Kofuku sighed. "I know Daikoku... It's just- I see Yatty with Yukki and Hiyorin and... you're my only shinki. I just thought... Maybe it would be nice to act human for a change." Her purple eyes started to water.

Daikoku couldn't argue with his lady. "Alright. We can apply... as long as you promise to not mess with their fortune."

"Yay!" Kofuku said, throwing her hands in the air.

One month after I talked with the Seven, my mom, and Paul, I was walking through a Japanese airport trying, and failing to read the signs that led me to the pick-up area. I eventually did find my way to a parking lot and saw tons of people holding up signs in english. Sadly, I didn't call or meet with my host family before this point so I was just searching for a sign that read 'Jackson'.

I looked across the crowd and saw a woman on a man's shoulders holding up a sign that said 'Percy-Kun' in big sharpied letters. I assumed that was my host family and so I started to walk towards them, trying and failing to be polite as I pushed through the sea of people.

Once I was able to reach my host family I realized that the man was very tall and had gelled brown hair and red eyes, the woman however was much more welcoming with bright pink hair and purple eyes. Well, this'll be interesting.

On the car ride to where I'd be staying they asked me a lot of questions in somewhat understandable english. I learned that their names were Kofuku and Daikoku and they owned a small store near a lake. They said that I could meet some of their friends later that night and that two of them were a little younger than me. I nodded along with them and answered to the best of my ability in very, very poor Japanese. Once we reached the store/house we went inside and I was let up to a small attic-like room, Daikoku told me that I could un-pack and then come down stairs to meet their friends.

Interesting indeed.

Once Percy went up to his room and started to unpack, Kofuku decided to call Yato, Yukine, and Hiyori so they could meet the American. They all agreed, curious, due to Kofuku just saying 'Come over. I have a surprise' in her text to their 'Yato Club' group chat. It was stupid, but also very efficent to get the word out.

After about fifteen minutes the trio of god, shinki, and half-phantom were sitting in Kofuku's front room, waiting for her to explain the 'surprise.' "So... I decided to do something human."

Yato and Yukine went wide eyed and Hiyori looked shocked, yet happy at the change. "What?" the human asked.

"I applied to act as a host family to an exchange student. He's from America... and he's also upstairs unpacking." She said, the trio's eyes getting even wider as she continued, "He can't know anything."

"Kofuku. Seriously!" Yato was annoyed at the god for deciding to bring a human into their midst when they were busy trying to find out the whereabouts of Kuguha and the masked phantoms.

"I thought it would be nice. He's a good kid Yatty, I swear... Now, would you like to stay for dinner?" She said, abruptly changing the subject. The trio nodded after shaking away their stupor. Kofuku was very excited and immediately went upstairs to retrieve the American teen.

When she returned minutes later, a boy, around nineteen with black hair and sea green eyes was standing on the stairs behind her. "Um, hi- uh, konichiwa uh, um ...watashi no namae ha Percy!" The boy said, obviously not very good at Japanese, granted he only had a month to prepare.

The trio all greeted him and within half an hour he basically joined their dysfunctional family.

Percy enjoyed being around new people, it was great, he doesn't have to pretend to be strong or a leader, he could just be him for now.
