Goddamn it!

This fucking ability isn't an active skill. It's a passive?!

Lin Yie is really irritated. Does this mean he can't approach any people if they are sleeping? Guaranteed entry to others' dreams sounds... not so bad?

What am I thinking?

This ability would be awesome if only it doesn't affect the dream's host. He already strained Nightingale's mind once. He doesn't want to do that again.

I was too careless.

Lin Yie sighs. Now that he is here, he doesn't know how to leave. In his past experiences, he was able to exit a dream world when the host woke up or when he was killed by a Sarkz warrior, so if he wants to leave, he has to either wait for Nightingale to wake up or die, but the only thing he can do is dying. Still, committing suicide right away sounds stupid. He may well do some research while he is here. If possible, he can attempt the rescue again.

Suddenly, he hears the familiar footsteps behind him.

Lin Yie steps aside to let a Sarkaz warrior run past him. Like last time, that Sarkaz didn't notice him, so it seems he will remain an observer of the dream until he interferes.

This is perfect stealth.

When I act will be key.

Lin Yie checks his pockets. Again, nothing. Not even his sword.

Well, he still has his clothes, but without a weapon, he may as well be naked. It's like speedrunning end-game content with a beginner account and no equipment. There is only one ending for him.

If only Shining were here, she could just carry me.

Lin Yie goes deeper inside the tunnel, but he is taking his time to memorize the path. Last time, he was running too quickly, and he even got lost. Lin Yie marks the walls with a stone to remind himself later where he came from.

10 minutes later, he is in the underground prison.

Those Sarkaz and their Centurion are not here yet. Lin Yie doesn't know how much time he has. The most important thing right now is finding Nightingale.

He walks past several prison guards and checks the cells.

There are a lot of cells. He has no idea how many are kept here. Eventually, he finds Nightingale in a small cell.

She is hugging her wounded legs while sleeping on a torn straw mat, like a malnutrition kitten.

"Liz," Lin Yie whispers her name, "Liz, wake up."

She doesn't move.

"Wake up, Liz! I'm here to save you!"

No movement.

"Liz!" Lin Yie yells, "Get up! I have pineapple buns for you!"

No movement again.

Lin Yie doesn't want to be too loud. He doesn't know what his "stealth" status covers. Would noise expose himself? To be safe, he decides to brute force the problem.

He picks up a stone.

Before he throws the stone, Lin Yie suddenly hears footsteps from the distance.

"The Centurion is injured!" One of the Sarkaz's shouts, "Quickly. Bring the medic over here. Hurry up!"

Motherfucker. They are here.

Lin Yie looks at the Sarkaz that is walking towards Liz's cell.

I can't let him take Liz!

Things will only be complicated if Liz is brought away. He has to do something without alerting other Sarkaz.

Lin Yie looks at the stone in his hand and throws it aside. He looks around and finds a rusty metal rod.

"Bastard! Why are you still sleeping?" The Sarkaz shouts, and Liz wakes up in fright.

While the Sarkaz opens her cell's door, Liz curls up in a corner and sobs quietly.

It's time.

Lin Yie lunges at the Sarkaz and stabs his metal rod into the Sarkaz's mouth. The Sarkaz collapses on the ground, holding his mouth in pain, but unable to say anything.

Lin Yie quickly walks up to Liz, who is panicking, and carries her on his back. Before he runs away, he goes back to the Sarkaz and twists the rod. The Sarkaz dies immediately, and Lin Yie retrieves his "weapon."

Liz stutters, "You! you! you! you! you...!"

Lin Yie smiles, "Relax. I'm here to save you again."
