…three bowls of tuna appeared in front of them, as if by magic!  “And here I was expecting something really dramatic, after the last time you did that,” Fred said dryly.  “Ungrateful beasts,” said the man.  He turned on his heels and left.  “Should we eat it?” Bob wondered.  “I think we should,” said Joe.  “We might make him mad if we don’t,” he continued.  “Yeah, but what if it’s drugged?” Fred argued.  “If he wanted to drug us, he could have gassed us again,” reasoned Bob.  “Okay, let’s just eat the stuff.  I’m hungry,” said Joe.  So they ate.

After a bit, Bob said, “So what happens now?”  They began to pace.  Suddenly, the creepy lady appeared out of nowhere.  “Come here, cats,” she said beckoningly.  “No!” Bob said cleverly. “Fine, come unwillingly,” she said, capturing him in a cat carrier that had mysteriously appeared out of thin air.  “Help me!” said Bob, as she carted him off through the normal door.  His friends had no choice but to follow.

Minutes later, they arrived at a stainless steel door.  The creepy lady opened the door, letting the cats in, and then she went in, dragging Bob’s carrier after her.  She released Bob, letting him view the surroundings.  They were in a large room with stainless steel floor, walls, and ceiling.  Every surface was steel panels, even the chair the lady was sitting on.

Abruptly, one of the panels opened next to them.  The man stepped out.  He sighed with relief.  “It was cramped in there, but one will do anything for a dramatic entrance, don’t you think?  Anyway,” he continued without pause for breath, “we haven’t had a proper introduction as of yet, have we?  I’m Dr. Abe, and you are…?” Dr. Abe queried.  “Why should we tell you?” Fred said rudely.  “You shouldn’t have said that,” said Dr. Abe ominously.  He hit a button on a small remote control the cats hadn’t noticed before.  A panel above the cats slid open, releasing a deluge of freezing cold ice water.  It splashed down on top of the cats with a smacking noise.      The cats dodged out of the way, but not before a chunk of ice hit Fred on the head.  “Owwwww!” he said.  “Fine!” Bob relented.  “I’m Bob, he’s Fred, and--” Joe interrupted “I’m Joe,” Dr. Abe smiled evilly.  “Very good,” he said.  “Do you know why you’re here?” he continued.  “To go to another dimension?”  Joe guessed tentatively.  “Not quite yet.  First, I’m going to train you.  We can’t have a bunch of incompetent cats going to other dimensions, can we?  So welcome to the Training Room!” Dr. Abe said.  Fred snorted.  “You come up with such original names, don’t you?”  Dr. Abe ignored him.  “Your first task: Agility Training!”

He pressed another button on his Remote of Doom.  A panel slid open on the far wall and an alcove with fluffy cat beds and a water dispenser appeared.  The cats started to head over, but a chasm opened up in front of them.  Some trapezes descended from the ceiling, making a path across.  “You mean we have to go across that?! That’s impossible!” Bob cried.  “Oh, it’s quite possible,” said Dr. Abe meanly.  “Let’s go, Agnes,” he said.  Agnes? Is that her name? Bob thought.  His silent question was answered moments later, when the creepy lady followed Dr. Abe out the door.

“Well, I guess we have to make it over there,” said Joe.  “Why can’t we just sleep right here?” said the ever-contrary Fred.  He curled up experimentally.  Immediately, loud buzzers began to sound.  “I guess not,” said Fred, rising.  The buzzers stopped instantly.  “Well, there’s only one thing to do now,” said Bob.  He jumped onto the first trapeze, and grabbed on with his claws.  Fred jumped on right after him.  “Fred! No!” Joe shouted.  But it was too late.  Fred had knocked Bob off the trapeze, and into the abyss…
