Bacon and eggs. Pancakes and whipped cream. Franks and hash brown. Coffee. I couldn't ask for more.

"How's your game, Luther?" The usual black. Bitter, strong.

Pinunasan ni Jacob ang bibig niya with the table napkin.

"Better, dad. I'm the team captain this year." I guess I should expect a scholarship offer sa universities."

"That's good to hear." Walang emosyon na pagkakasabi nito. His father opened the newspaper tsaka siya ulit tinanong, "How about your academics? Can I expect a letter from the top universities as well?"

"Yes, dad. My academics are fine."

"Fine not impressive."

Will he ever be proud of me? His sister noticed this. She cleared her throat.

"Dad, I'm planning to join business club. They have seminars with known entrepreneurs. I think that would be a great edge for me in college."

"That's good to hear, hija. I'll ask your tito Geronimo as well if he can take you as his intern in the summer." He sighed but smiled at his little sister. Kahit ganon proud pa rin siya dito.

"My baby sister is the best!"

"Kuya, really? Hindi na ako baby."

"What? You are! Kahit 50 years old ka na you're always 12 to me."

"Oh my god,kuya!"

Still all business. Sinuot na nito ang necktie niya.

"Speaking of your tito Geronimo, he'll be back from Singapore next week. I'll arrange a dinner with his family. Shop your finest suits and dresses. I don't want less." Tumingin si Mr. Gil sa dalawa niyang anak as if they are his business partners not his children. "I heard uuwi lang siya for her daughter's game. So how is the girl?" Yung look ng dad nila expecting answer from Jacob.

"Uh...Francesca's fine. Team captain as well." The jock fidgeted while his mind raced for answers. "She's doing great, yes."

Andrea noticed something is amiss but she didn't react on it.
