Unknown Darkness Chapter 5-Roommate

"Can I have a mushroom and Swiss burger please with a side of fried chips?" Going from my pissed off voice to my sweet voice the boy smiles at me and rings in my order.

"That would be $8.95, but for you it’s free. Go take a seat in booth 4 and I’ll be with you with your food in a few minutes." I just look at him blushing a little bit and he gives me a nod. I go and take my seat ay booth 4. As I sit down I hear him say he's going on a lunch break.

I watch him as he walks over with two trays of food and sits down in front of me, handing me my order.

"Umm, thank you." I say looking at my tray. No guy has ever been so nice to me.

"No thank you. Those guys always get on my nerves." He says as he smiles at me. His grins not like the jocks, its sweeter, kind of make him more kissable.

"Don't thank me. I just really wanted my burger." Of course I'm lying, I don't even know why I did it, I just had to.

"Well, what's your name?"

"Jessie, Jessie Williams. What’s yours?”

"David, David Thomas." He holds his hand out for a hand shake. I slide my hand into his and blush a little bit as he shakes it. I see him smiling at me. Omg he is so cute. I love Cali... I feel as If I could melt underneath his stare.

"Nice to meet you." I say a little more giddy the usual. Oh no... I'm turning into a girl!

"Nice to meet you too." he says Letting go my hand and starts to eat his burger. I do the same and we talk about back home in New York and what our favorite moves are and stuff.

"I have to go." I say. It took me a whole hour to eat; I put my trash on my tray and get up to throw it all away. He does the same and then he looks at me as I start to leave.

I walk down the parking lot to find my car. "Hey Jessie!?! Hold on!" I hear David's voice echoing behind me.

"How am I even going to get you another burger if I don't have your number?" He says giving me a grin. I laugh and get a piece of paper and hand him my number.

"Thanks."

"You’re welcome." I can tell my face is turning red. I slide into my car and drive off, looking a David in the distance.

As I drive I see less and less sights. The roads become bumpy and the buildings become trees, then I pull into a town called Harmony Hill.

I see people walking the streets and children playing around the park. I drive further and further into town and see more and more churches. I'm doomed... as the town fades away behind me I drive through a narrow road that leads me to a huge brick building. Its bigger than the collage back home, I park my rental in the student parking area and slide out of my car putting my crutches under my arms. I’ll leave my stuff here for now, I slowly make my way towards the school. The doors are wooden and have crosses carved. As I see no handle I push them open and walk inside. The lobby is HUGE, the carpets are a silky red color, and the lights have crystals hanging down and reflect the light all around the room; making this place seem a little bit nicer. I feel a cold hand on my shoulder as I turn around to see a woman dressed like a penguin, wait never mind, its nun.

"Young lady, May I ask what you need?" Her voice is stern, she must mean business.

"Oh, Yeah I need to--" She breaks into my sentence.

"You will say yes, not yeah, and you will address me as sister, do you understand me miss?" Alright so I’ll admit it, the woman scares me.

"Yes sister." I say obeying her words.

"Now say what you need?"

"Sister, I need to find my room." She looks at me, eyeing me like a hawk would its pray.

"Come with me." She leads me to a reception desk, were a slim woman with long auburn hair looks up, her eyes are a pale grey, and her skin is a Smokey pale color if that makes any since.

"This young lady needs her room number and by the looks of it someone to help her with her bags." The woman looks around the nun and stares at me.

"May I have your name please?" Her voice is soft as velvet, not harsh like the nuns.

"Jessie Williams."

"Room 345." She hands me a key and I slide it in my pocket with my car key.

"Your roommate should be able to help you with your bags." I see the nun walk away knowing she is not needed anymore. I turn around and make my way to room 345.

I walk around the halls and hear guys and girls alike saying hi to all their friends, I really hate being new. I get to room 345 and unlock my door. I walk in and see my side of the room. The wall is grey and there's a pant choice book on the side of my bed. My dresser is brown and only has 3 drawers and my closet is beside the window, bet there's not a lot of space there either. I see a desk in front of my bed; guess they give us a nice space to work.

I look to the other side of the room and see pink walls. With a little book shelf over a pink bed, that has fluffy pillows on it. The desk at the end of the bed is cluttered with frilly scrap books, and old photos. Oh god... my roommate loves pink...

I hear a gasp come from the door way and I turn around to see a short girl with brown hair that goes to her shoulders, her brown eyes are lighting up like a little kid who just got a new puppy, her skin is a caramel color but she still looks white.

"Oh my goodness! You're my new roommate!" She yells as she come towards me and pulls me into a tight hug. Her voice is a little country but not to bad, I guess she's been living into eh city for a bit by the sound of it.

"Umm... Yeah I'm Jessie." I feel her hug me tight then let go and look at me.

"I'm Stephanie, but you can call me Steph, or step step or Joe Joe, cause my middle name is Joe. I know we are going to be great friends!" The girl talks like she is on speed drugs. I just give her a nod and she looks at my leg.

"Oh my goodness! What happened to you leg!?!" Can this girl go ten seconds without screaming.

"I umm... Fell."

"Oh well I hope you feel you feel better, let’s go get you bags."

I follow her out of out dorm room and take a look at my temporary home.
