My cat put two big holes in you.
A fang pierced each grey thigh
I sometimes wonder if you knew
That I was there, to watch you die

I tried to sooth your passing on
Words of comfort, did no good
To quicken death would feel so wrong
Yet - I wondered if I should

By the time I'd built the courage to try and help you pass.
You saved me so much heartache by dying in the grass.
I'm sorry little mousey that you have had to die.
I told my cat she is a dick, but I know that she won't cry.
