When I thought
I had seen you before
I knew I saw you in my memory
Under the lights
Of that scantily lit cafeYou were with some man or
woman or child or something
They by the window
You by the bay
You wore the sweater
I didn't knit that day.Your head had a lot of hair
Like you oiled them really well
A stray gray I saw lying in your collar
It was half gray and half black
Like your coloursThen I saw an old chandelier
Which made no sense in that cafe
Or even in that corner
But I saw you in there
Against the ceiling
Your face smiling
Yes your face
All of it
Eyes ear nose teethI held my hand on reverse
One last time I thought I will see
But the move was ready made
When I backed to the future
full speed.
