Chapter 5a:
Slowly I woke up again... I looked to see Aiko had taken me back to Leon's house. She was skimming over a scroll it seemed. She turned to me, and her eyes widened. I watched as tears filled Aiko's eyes before she gasped and ran at me, hugging me and forcing so much of her weight on me I may as well have just been tackled by the world's lightest and cutest football player.
"Shibuya! I'm so glad you're okay!" Aiko exclaimed before looking at me closer. "How the hell did you do that??" She asked immediately afterward.
What the hell was she talking about??
"Huh?" Was my only response, and her cheeks puffed up in a pout, and her hands were on her hips.
"Don't act stupid, I saw what happened with my own two eyes!"
"I AM stupid! In this situation at least!"
"Wait... you really remember nothing?" Aiko asked, her voice quieted down. "Oh... well, your eyes were blank... you held up a hand and the orc stopped moving. Then a bunch of words in a strange language appeared in front of you. You pointed and more words appeared before his head exploded in blood." She said before handing me that scroll she was reading before. "Luckily, I have a pretty quick hand, so I wrote down what they looked like and where they were in front of you!" She added before watching me read it over.
It wasn't quite the same, but this looked like it was meant to be this world's version of Japanese! Thankfully, my Japanese heritage lets me understand what this is trying to say. This is what it said, roughly:
alter n=Orc_Warrior instantdeath=implosion{cranium}
I don't think I could be any more in love than right now. It seemed I was able to use some kind of coding language to alter reality?? Just like in Meadow of Mystics!
I smiled brightly and nodded, prompting confusion from Aiko. "Where I'm from, this stuff is understood by most males my age!" I said, and she simply nodded.
I wanted to see if I could learn to control this new ability. But I didn't know where to start! Thankfully, Leon the Lexicon was in the other room, so I had no trouble there.
Unfortunately, I walked in to see him having a mental breakdown. I ran to him and tried asking what's wrong, with Aiko not too far behind me.
In a shaky voice, he started to read the letter he had in his hands. "D-Dear Wizards and Warriors.... K-Kolroff is threatening us again with means of demonic conquest and battle... we need as many men as possible to take on this threat! We pray people will come to our aid... thank you... The Proxy...."
I could see the fear in Aiko's eyes, her movements were stiffened, her breaths short and quick, she held her hand over her mouth as she began processing what she heard. Leon was already panicking. I was just confused.
"Who are The Proxy? And who is Kolroff??" I asked, which prompted a glare from Leon and an even more scared look from Aiko.
"Kolroff is an infinitely powerful Demon Lord who's sole purpose is to make every single one of our lives a living hell... before he sends us TO hell!" He said, sounding offended by my lack of knowledge of the conversation topic. I then remembered... Nobody knows I'm not from here other than Aiko... I could feel my face sweating as I came to the realization. He just sighed. "S-Sorry... Didn't mean to get so upset. I've just been in the middle of so many of these wars, I feel like it's been my whole life..." Leon admitted before rummaging through a bunch of magic thingies he had piling up. He eventually handed me some kind of necklace with a crystal orb hanging on it. I swear, when I looked at it, it blinked back at me, but I didn't say anything about it...
