Adrien gave himself a once over in the mirror.
He was dressed in denim, black, ripped jeans with a dark grey shirt. He pulled a black leather jacket over his clothes and slipped on his white converse... which hardly looked white anymore.
But he looked different. He looked brighter. He almost felt like his old self again– the good part of his old self, at least. It didn't hurt to feel confident, which is what he was feeling at the moment.
And it was something he hadn't felt in quite a while.
For the first time in a long time, he smiled at his appearance. He felt brand new, like a new version of himself, and it was a great feeling.
"Adrien?" His father caught him as he was coming down the stairs a few hours later, dressed and ready to head out and visit Chloé.
Adrien paused at the end of the stairs, turning around to catch his father's tall, stiff, and lean figure at the top of the staircase.
"Yes father?"
Gabriel seemed to be debating his next choice of words. Instead, he gave his son a slow and steady once over. "Are you going out?"
