Chapter 2- Same Old Hell

When Valentina wakes she hears a steady beeping noise

She opens her eyes and squints due to the bright light

"Oh Valentina, good to see you awake" says a woman with a thick Russian accent

Valentina looks to the side and sees Madam B

She lifts her hand and strokes the young girls hair

"I'm sorry Madam, I have failed" Valentina says

"You have done nothing of the sort. You protected yourself and didn't let them take you, one of Hydra's most valuable weapons" Madam B tells her

"Thank you, for saving me Madam" the girl says with a nod

"I would never let you go my dear, we will always bring you back here so long as you live" Madam B told her

"I would want nothing else" Valentina says with a small smile

"Now you rest up, you need to be in tip top shape as fast as possible. Nobody can do what you do my dear, and your services are needed" Madam B finishes cuffing one of hands to the medical bed

She was so close

Had she reacted just a second faster she would be with Natalia at this moment

She lost her one chance of freedom but all she could think was thank god Natalia made it

The following week once she was healed, she was released from the medical unit

She started walking back to the dorms when Madam B stoped her

"Valentina, you will no longer be staying in the dorm with the other students, come with me" The Russian woman said

They walked down a long hallway and Madam opened the door at the end to reveal a room

Not just any room though, a bedroom

"You have showed exemplary discipline. When one of your own betrayed Hydra, you stayed loyal, these actions must be rewarded. So from now on you'll be staying in the independent rooms. You will continue your training and after that you will stay and work for Hydra not the KGB or anyone else" Madam B says praising the girl

"Thank you Madam, it is my honor to serve Hydra" Valentina says bowing her head to the older woman

"Your cuffs are in the side table, rest up, you will continue your training tomorrow morning" Madam B says before walking out and closing the door behind her

Valentina opens a set of double doors and sees all her clothing plus much more 

She walks through the the other door and sees a spacious bathroom

She lays in bed and cuffs her right hand like always leaving the key on the bedside table

After hearing Madam B say that even after the graduation ceremony she would be working for Hydra, Valentina knew that she will never be able to leave

Not without putting someone in danger

That wasn't a sacrifice she was willing to make, up until now she had hurt so many people because she had to

She didn't want anyone else getting hurt on her behalf

1 year later (Age 18)

Valentina had finally finished her training and was ready for her graduation ceremony

Of course she had the thought of wanting a family one day but she had excepted that it was nothing more than a dream

She would never get the family she always wanted

She was ready to be sterilized

When Madam B came to get her for the ceremony she saw that there was no stretcher

She saw Natalia and all the other graduating students get taken on a stretcher, why not her

"Your graduation ceremony will be a little different from the rest, come Valentina" Madam B told her walking her into a dark room

When she walks in she sees nothing but a table with a gun on it

This is the same room she killed her first victim in do she knew what was going to happen

What she didn't understand was why her ceremony was so easy?

How was this a right of passage for her, she had done it thousands of times before

Two operatives walk in a woman who had a sack over her head

They sit the woman in the chair and and untie her hands

But the woman does not try to escape

She simply brings her hands into her lap and crosses them sitting poised and placid in the chair

"You are allowed only one bullet" Madam B says

She opens the gun and sees that there are 5 bullets in there

She points the gun at the wall behind the woman and shoots 4 times

Even the the bullets were only about a foot away from the woman she did not even move or make a sound

This made Valentina very curious as to who was under the bag

Madam B goes over to the woman and pulls the bag off her head

Valentina saw someone who she never thought she'd see again in her lifetime

"Hello my sweet. You have grown to become a beautiful young woman my dear" the woman said to her younger self

"What is she doing here?" Valentina asked shakily

"The ceremony is necessary for you to take your place in the world. You know what to do" Madam B says trying to be sympathetic

Valentina shakes her head with fear in her eyes

"It's ok my dear, I have lived my life, I am ready to go. You are the best thing that has happened to me and I love you with all my heart but you must do this to take your place in the world" Dottie says to her daughter showing no fear

Valentina looks over at Madam B with glossy eyes and sees her nod

She turns back to her mother and slowly raises her gun straight out in front of her

She cocks the gun stares right into her mothers eyes

"You are strong, you can do this" Her mother says smiling and nodding

Valentina shoots watching the bullet pierce her mother's head

She watches the life instantly fade from her eyes and she lets a few tears slip out her eyes

When she realizes that she's crying, she harshly wipes her tears away

"I'm sorry Madam, I don't mean to be this weak" She says looking down

"Nonsense, you are not weak, no one could do what you just did. The worst is over, you are officially done with training, how about we celebrate hmm" Madam B says to her star pupil stroking her hair

Just to clarify, yes Valentina is Dottie's biological daughter. Her last name is Petrov instead of Underwood because Dottie thought it'd be best and it would be safer for her child not to be associated with her. She was also born in London and stayed their till she was taken to the Red Room
