Hours in school went by so slow.
Hopefully, they will escape the cycle once graduation happens, which will be in a while.

Komaeda noticed Nanami walking towards him. He watched her as she passed by him, not even noticing her friend because her eyes are glued on her game. That's her usual routine.

"Nanami," Komaeda called.

Her head perked up, walking back at him. She's too focused on that game. She might as well meet new friends or people because she always bumps into someone.

"Are you sure you're ready?" Nanami asked.

"Why won't I be?" Komaeda replied.

"Ah well. I'm asking because I don't trust you," she coldly said.

"Well..." he smiled, scratching his cheek nervously. "Where are we going?"

"To the arcade, of course."

Of course. Since when do they hang out in a place not called 'arcade'.

"I heard about arcades. I'm the master in DDR!" Akamatsu said, which made Nanami's eyes shine.

"Kaede Akamatsu? Master in DDR?" Chiaki asked, invading her personal space. It doesn't look like she minds.

"Yep! But I have a debate club with Shu and... yeah... Bye!"

"Yeah, later," Nanami said. "Follow," she commanded in the nicest way, which Komaeda did follow.

In their journey, Komaeda began his train of thoughts which he always does. Nothing interesting. He thought that he should scan his surroundings. He noticed the color of the walls changing. It almost doesn't look like the main course building... Wait...

"Nanami. What are we doing here?" Komaeda asked, feeling concerned.

"We're going the right way," she said.

Komaeda's eyes looked away from her dull pink hair. His vision fixated on someone. It's the same person that he saw in the nurse's office.

"Hey," Nanami greeted her new friend.

The person Komaeda insulted in his mind looked nervous. He forced a smile, greeting them back. His voice was shaking like the both of them are spooky beings.

Komaeda looked away in anger. Nanami nudged him, suggesting that he should introduce himself too. But he won't share his words.

Nanami sighed, pulling his arm in her direction. She pointed at the stubborn one. "This is Komaeda Nagito. He's my classmate and friend."

"I'm Hinata Hajime," he introduced nervously, reaching out a hand which Komaeda just stared at it.

It resulted in another nudge, but a forceful one this time.

"Komaeda Nagito. Ultimate Lucky Student. And you?" He finally introduced, grabbing his hand without a choice.

They stood there frozen with their hands not shaking, waiting for responses.

"Oh... Uhm... I'm just a boring talentless student," He said in much disappointment in his words.

"As I thought," Komaeda glared at him, shaking his hand.

"Let's go. We don't have much time," Nanami said.

They started their adventure to the arcade. And Komaeda thought the unlucky morning he had will be replaced by something very lucky. The unlucky are piling up.

Before stopping at the arcade, Nanami decided that they all should eat first. They stopped by at the shop near the arcade. It's small, yet many people hang in here.

Nanami ordered a strawberry milkshake and Dango. Hinata and Komaeda decided they should have what Nanami has too. Hinata ordered orange juice with it while Komaeda went on with water.

The new friends were having a conversation while Komaeda looked around the room and wandered off space. If Komaeda looks around in space, he swears that he's going to see the student from class 3, --Ultimate luminary of the stars or something-- or Kars.

"Are you, Nagito?" Komaeda quickly dragged himself back to reality by Nanami's question.

"Yes," he replied without knowing the question.

Hajime widened his eyes to his reply. Nanami wasn't surprised.

"... What?"

"My question was about being gay," Nanami clarified.

Komaeda internally panicked. He answered with such confidence. "Why is that even a topic?"

"I discovered something in a romantic visual novel about the same sex, and I'm curious about everyone's preferences," Nanami replied to Komaeda's panicked question.

"Yeah, but I'm not like that," Komaeda defended.

He wasn't even fighting for anything. Although he thinks it might be true but that was a dumb question he just thought of earlier.

The awkwardness faded once their orders finally arrived. They ate their food quietly.

"So Hajime. How much does your family earn?" Komaeda asked, maybe as an insult.

Nanami shot a serious deadly glare at him. "Don't mind him, Hinata-Kun," she said.

Hajime laughed it off.

"Go look for sugar daddies or mommies but not your friends' parents," Nanami added.

"What?" Komaeda was taken aback. He looked away and drank his water aggressively.

Komaeda started thinking about Hajime. Should he respect him? It's not like he wants to hang out or be around him. He's weighing down the symbol of hope along with his reserve course classmates. But even so, how did he and Nanami even meet? Or how did he get to interest Nanami to hang out with him in the first place? Was it pity? Komaeda guesses the answer is yes. Maybe her heart has gotten too kind, and soft to let anyone like Hajime be her friend.

"Let's go," Nanami said as she stood up.
