With a voice as sweet as honey, you'd think she'd die on a sweet enough note. But she didn't. And she didn't regret it. There she laid on the floor, pale as she faced death. Her time wasn't supposed to be this short. She at least had a few more years. But no. Her time had come and no one on earth could have predicted it. The doctors said she'd possibly die in a few years. But no. Her time was now. And so there she laid, her worried lover hovering over her. He said nothing, but cradled her. In his arms, she drew her last breaths. With a voice as sweet as honey, you'd think she'd die saying something sweet. But she didn't. And she didn't regret it. Her lover stared into her eyes, licking his lips as he tried to say something. But he couldn't. And neither could she. For all the words they wanted to say in that moment were never uttered. And they didn't regret it. She drew one last steady breath as her eyes stopped focusing on him. She joined her Father and he closed her eyes. A single tear dripped down her cheek, washing away nothing but a sacrificed future. And so she died a silent death.
