Chapter 1 † A Unique Weapon {editing}

Start from the beginning

“Spirit, it’s gonna be fine. Uncle’s got this, okay?” I sat in front of him and held his hand, “Why don’t we go see Maka?”

Shortly after sulking, he grinned and nodded. I stood up, holding my hand out to the sad weapon. He grabbed my hand and pulled himself up. Sid smiled at my kindness but it soon turned into an emotionless face. He then said, “Aika, what did he tell you?”

I walked over to the smashed mirror and bent down until I was balancing on the front of my feet. I picked up a shard and stared at it, seeing my reflection. Quietly, yet ever so powerfully, I say, “Uncle… He has said not to find him until I have a meister. I must take my classes, and find a meister besides him. I need to run this school with your help, too.” Sid nodded, asking if any of the students so far are capable of wielding me. I nodded, “There are four people who are capable of matching my soul. Their names are Soul Eater Evans, Death the Kid, Maka Albarn, and Black Star. All are capable, but I doubt Soul Evans and Maka Albarn would switch partners.”

Sid nodded, “Soul would stay with Maka Albarn and vice versa. Kid would possibly stay with his two partners as it is ‘symmetrical,’ and I would not know about Black Star, but I would doubt you would go with a loud mouth. If you need a meister, we can call upon all the single meisters in the academy?”

I smiled and nodded, “Please, Uncle Sid? Can you do that? Oh, thank you, Uncle Sid!!” I ran towards him and wrapped my arms around him, hugging him until I couldn’t no more. Sid patted the top of my head.

He then rushed out of the room, doing what I asked of him. All that was left in the room was the broken mirror, Spirit, and myself. “Go help Uncle Sid, Spirit. Once I have a meister, we can save Lord Death.” I then walked out of the room without Spirit answering me. I ran out of the Death Room and towards a girls’ bathroom nearby. I walked towards the sink with the mirror and breathed on it, making it cloudy. “42-42-564.”

The mirror had rippled a few times, but it was black and Death did not appear. I wiped the numbers away and gripped the sides of the sink so hard that my knuckles turned white. “Screw you, Death!” I screamed so loud that Maka and Soul ran into the girls’ bathroom. Tears were on the verge of breaking loose as Maka yelled at Soul to get out.

I gripped the sink harder, trying to stop the tears, but it was useless. Soul saw me crying and ran towards my side, trying to comfort me. As girls from the bathroom stalls screamed as they saw Soul, Maka had hit him in the head with a book. After pushing Soul out of the bathroom and getting every other girl besides Maka out, she had comforted me, saying many soothing things.

I looked up at the girl and smiled, “Thank you, Maka, but you didn’t need to do this at all. It’s my fault that Death is gone and it’s my fault I have to run this school and find a meister and… and…”

Maka smiled and shook my gently, “Don’t be silly! It isn’t your fault at all, and Lord Death isn’t gone at all. He’s on a mission finding…” I started to tear up again and she sighed and held me close, “Besides, why do you need to run the school and find a meister? And why do you think Death is gone?”

I sighed and pushed her away, looking up at the mirror that I was trying to call Death with. “He’s gone because I talked to him about ten to fifteen minutes ago. He told me that he was kidnapped and that I needed to run the school. He also said not to find him until I have a meister and make sure that I take my classes and perfect everything before I create a mission to find him. Please, Maka, please don’t tell Kid.” She said a yes to my request and ducked out of the bathroom. As I gradually climbed to a stand a few minutes after Maka left, Soul ran into the girls’ bathroom like the building was on fire.

He grinned, “Yo, Blossom, there’s a meister on meister outside and a professor needs to see the fight before they can continue. People thought of Stein, but since you now run the school, why don’t you come on out?” I gave an ‘Ehh?!’  face and he nodded, “I heard you talking. You were quiet, but not quite enough for me not to hear.”

I glared at him and followed him to the entrance of the entire school. A crowd of people had gathered and asked Soul where the teacher was so the fight could go on. The white headed boy nodded his head toward me and I smirked a tiny bit. Pushing past many others, I arrived at the front of the crowd and saw the two challengers. Someone yelled, “Yo Black Star! Better not get beaten by a girl!”

Yeah, if he is beaten by a girl then the blue headed moron will never be my meister. Looking at the girl more closely, it was Maka Albarn. I yelled loud and clearly, “Black Star versus Maka Albarn. Let the fight begin!” The crowd cheered and Maka was off first. Looking at her, I realized she had no weapon like Black Star. “Maka! Be careful!”

She nodded and ran so fast, it was blinding. I looked at Soul and all he did was sit back. Tsubaki turned into a small sword and Black Star was armed fiercely. He ran and the fight commenced. I tried to contain myself, but looking at Maka fighting unarmed was too much. She comforted me when I needed it the most and she helped me on this first day of school. Black Star struck Maka in the jaw and made her fall back. She stood up once again, but Black Star made a smoke screen which blinded her.

She tried her best to spot Black Star, but it was no use until he had made a false move by attacking her from behind. Black Star clumsily hit Maka’s back, but she turned and punched him square in the jaw, knocking him a few feet back. She smirked as the smoke faded into the air. As everything cleared up, Black Star staggered to stand, but somehow he was fiercer than ever. He asked Tsubaki to turn into the enchanted sword and I knew what was coming next.

Black Star smirked as the enchanted sword was laid upon his hands and gripped the hilt tightly. He did soul convergence with Tsubaki and now the girl who was a sword could manipulate the shadows to her will. Tsubaki tripped Maka and Maka fell to the ground with a thud. Weaponless and having no strategy, Maka tried to get up and break away from Tsubaki’s grip, but nothing happened. Without thinking, I turned into the death scythe and flew over to Maka. Knowing how to use a death scythe, she gripped my handle and twirled me around like I was weightless.

Soul, who was sitting on the side eating popcorn, had spat out his popcorn and staggered to a stand. Furiously, he yelled, “Blossom, what the hell are you doing?!”

I appeared in the blade and smirked, “Hey, at least I am doing something, unlike you, Soul Eater E…” He screamed, making the crowd cheer like crazy which stopped me from saying his last name. I blew him a kiss as he was beyond angry.

Maka smiled, “You know how to push his buttons, don’t ya? And, surprisingly, it’s only your first day!” I nodded and disappeared from the blade. I whispered her an attack called Satan’s Fire and she agreed to the attack. She dodged a few attacks from Black Star before we started our own soul convergence. The convergence made Maka totally turn into a different person. Her outfit had changed from the rebel schoolgirl to a rocker in only a matter of seconds.

From the soul convergence, my blade was ten times bigger and the fire grew until Maka and I were drowning in it. The fire won’t burn you unless you are afraid of it; it will only be warmth until the convergence is done, I said to her. She nodded and we both yelled, “Satan’s Fire!” The blue flames from my scythe form grew bigger and bigger until it had become white flames. Maka was really strong as she did an uppercut move, which made Black Star fall a few yards back and was doused in the flames.

I turned back into my human form as the fight was over because of the move. I ran over to Black Star’s side and held him in my arms. Hey, he may be part of Star Clan, but he’s okay even though he’s also a moron, I thought. I smiled and kissed his forehead and in a matter of seconds, the white fire dissolved and the cuts, burns, and bruises from the fight vanished.

Soul and a few others were behind me and saw what I did to Black Star. Most gaped in awe, but Soul was emotionless in a way. He asked, “What are you, Blossom?”

“I am a unique weapon. A death scythe, yet a weapon of Hell. I am the rare Hell Scythe, a weapon for the Creator of Hell, Satan. I will tell you what I am, but only you six will know.”
