i honestly don't even know where to begin with this. i have been working on this idea and book for two years now. i've only written a few chapters, it's all plot and theorizing and developing. i've put so much time and effort, left writing it and come back, posted it a long time ago and then abandoned it, and now i'm deciding to stick with it.

at my core, i am a storyteller. i wrote my first story at about 5/6 years old and was taught to read at the same time i learned to speak. i never had any electronics or video games growing up, only books. to put it lightly, the english language and the art of the story are woven into the fabric of my soul.

my point in all this babble is to illustrate how important this story is to me. i really wouldn't like to write fan fiction, as much as i adore attack on titan, and instead make my own world and story and tell its tale. but this one needs to be told first. it's been bottled inside me for years and i can hardly bear it anymore. so i'm going to write it, and put it out there, and then breathe properly again. if anyone wants to come along for the ride then that is fantastic. but that is not my goal.

i should preface a few things, however, since people will read this book:

I. levi is 19. his backstory is slightly altered to fit this narrative but he is still the same levi. he has the same past and the same experiences that made him who he is. he's simply younger. evelyn is around 16. she is eren's age. no sexual encounters will take place between them until season four, when she is 19.

II. this is my interpretation of levi's character and how he would "fall in love." take it with a grain of salt.

III. evelyn is not a perfect person and i do not condone a lot of her actions. she can be brash, naïve, jump to conclusions, attached, and unforgiving. in some instances, she is a silly teenager heavily infatuated with her superior and uncaring of the fate of humanity. her character arc is quite interesting though, if i do say so myself.

there isn't an official playlist, but i'd say the best song to describe levi would be Natural by Imagine Dragons; the best song to describe Evelyn would be Circles by Ludovico Einaudi & Greta Svabo Bech. not only does it encapsulate her but i also like to think it's what her voice sounds like. a song for their relationship would be Daylight by David Kushner and a song for the overarching story would be lovely by Billie Eilish and Khalid. runaway by AURORA works too.

that's enough waffling about playlists. another thing to know is that this book will be split into acts. act i is a blend of season 1 & 2, act ii is season 3 and act iii is season 4.
