Original POV:

"Mama!!! Where Polly?!" Tessa cried from mine and her's room.

I was in the kitchen making Mac and cheese when she started crying.

I sighed. She love her stuffed pig or, "Polly" as she named it. But she lost it all the time.

"Mama!!!!" she screamed once more.

I out down the Mac and cheese and walked into our room.

She was sitting up in the bed we shared.

"I want Polly, Mama!" her teal blue tear-filled eyes looked at me.

"Honey, did you look under the covers?"

She lifted up the comforter and pulled out Polly. She squealed and cuddled with the pig.

I smiled at my little goof-ball.

Just then, there was a knock at the door.

"Who there Mama?" Tessa stood up on the bed.

"I'll go see honey. You stay here with Polly alright?"

She sat back down with Polly.

I walked out into the living room and up to the door. I wasn't expecting anybody.

I opened the door and gasped.

I drove up to April's house. It was definitely in the lower class part of town.

I didn't really know what to think when I walked up to her front door.

- - - -

I couldn't believe it. I couldn't believe who was at my door.

"Hey April.." he smiled his snakebite smile.

I looked down at my outfit. Oversized T-shirt, sweats, and old slippers.

I blushed a deep red.

"Wha- what are you doing here..?" I managed to blurt out.

He looked a little surprised at my question. "I wanted to see you, and a guy at your friend's house gave me your address.."

"Mommy!! Who there??" Tessa tugged on my pant leg. I froze.

Zacky looked down at my daughter with a look of confusion on his face.

I shook my head to clear it and bent down to pick her up.

"Tessa honey, this is Mommy's friend Zacky. Can you say hello?"

She gave him a big smile and waved. "Hewwo Yacky!"

He instantly smiled at Tessa. He waved back "Hello Tessa."

"Mommy, can Yacky come inside?

I looked at Zacky, and he smiled at me.

I let out a breath. "If he wants to baby."

"I'd love to."

I stepped aside to allow him into my house.

I walked in and we went to sit on the couch. Tessa wriggled off of my lap and ran into our room. Minutes later, she returned with Polly in her arms.

She stood in front of Zacky, waiting for him to pick her up. He did, and sat her on his lap.

Well, at least they seemed to be getting along.

He looking me in the eyes and I knew I had some explaining to do.

"Tessa baby, can you go in your room and play? Mommy needs to talk to Zacky."

She huffed and looked up at Zacky, pouting.

"I'll tell you what. If you let me talk to your mommy, I'll play with you and Polly later."

She smiled wide. "Okay Yacky!" She jumped off his lap and ran to our room.

I turned back to look at him. I sighed.

He folded his arms. "Want to tell me what's going on here?"

I looked down at my hands. Then back up at him.

Then I told him everything. About my mom and dad, about everything I'd been through. About Tessa's dad.

Talking about it all made me cry.

When I was done, tears were silently streaming down my face.

I didn't dare look up at Zacky. I didn't want to see the look of disgust on his face.

We sat in silence for a few minutes.

Then I felt him wrap his arms around me.

The tears started falling once more, and harder.

"Shh. April, your okay." he cooed. He stroked my long blonde hair.

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you the truth." I hiccuped.

"It's fine. I just want to know... Why? Why didn't you tell me?"

I pulled back to look at him.

"I didn't want you to know the world I came from. The world that is so different from your rock star one."

He cupped my face in both of his hands.

"I don't care about where you come from. Or what happened in the past. None of it matters. I like you for you."

"Really?" I sniffed.

"Really." he smiled as he brushed my cheeks.

"What about..." I tilted my head towards mine and Tessa's room.

"I love that you have a daughter. She is adorable, just like her mother." he grinned.

"Mommy!! Yacky!! Come play!!" Tessa came out packing Polly.

I scooped her up into a hug and cuddled her.

She giggled. "Mommy!!! Stop it!!"

Zacky wrapped his arms around both of us.

This felt perfect.absolutely perfect.
