Chapter 11

"This is bullshit, Kuya Ggie!"

I look up a bit, kanina pa palakad-lakad si Sky habang may kausap ito sa telepono. I was quivering with fear. For the first time, I fear for my life. Binalot ko ang sarili sa kumot na niyakap ni Sky sa katawan ko kanina. The package I receive earlier is too much.

Hindi na normal na fan ang gumagawa nito, she's obsessed!

"We're talking about Elouise here! I need additional guards for her."

Madiin ang pananalita nito. His jaw clenched, his brows knitted. I could sense his growing impatience, he looks so frustrated and mad as if all the things were draining him. I've never seen him like this before. The calm and kind Sky was gone.

Lumaki ang mata ko sa narinig. Hindi ko kailangan ng guard! I gritted my teeth as my forehead creased.

"I can protect myself, Sky. I'll file a charge about this."

Lumingon siya sa gawi ko. His forehead was creased, but his anger subsided a bit as his eyes went soft, staring at me. He has to hear me out. Kung magpapatuloy siya sa gusto niya ay mas lalong magiging komplikado ang lahat.

"I'll call you back, Kuya Ggie," he said firmly and ended the call.

Binulsa niya ang telepono niya at lumapit ng bahagya sa pwesto ko. He stood in front of me and leaned against the wall. I notice how his chest heaved.

"Listen, Sky... alam kong magkaiba ang mundong ginagalawan natin." Umiling ako. "But I can protect myself, Sky. I don't need your men!"

His heavily sigh. "Even if you don't file a charge, Eli, I will— and I can't let this just pass. You're the only one right now I can think of, and your safety matters here, Eli."

He shook his head and crossed his arms. Ibinababa ko ang tingin ko at pinaglaruan ang daliri.

"You can protect yourself?" He asked, sarcasm dripping from his voice. "I know you can, Eli, kaya nga wala akong ginawa nung nabasa ko 'yung mga emails mo sa laptop ko, but this? Really? Do you think I'll listen to you?"

My eyes widened and look up a bit. I looked at him as he stared at nothingness. His forehead was creased and his jaw was clenched.

He knows? Nabasa niya?

"I stayed quiet and waited for you to tell me regarding those emails... pero bigla mo na lang akong hindi kinausap," he uttered. His voice was deep and hoarse. "I wanted to check in on you because I'm worried about you, but then I realized that was your way of doing what that email wanted... to stay away from me."

My lips parted. "Sky..."

He breathes. "I don't want you to stay away from me, Eli."

I closed my eyes and shook my head. "Sky... please."

Hindi na siya nagsalita matapos ng tawagin ko siya, mukhang nahimigan rin naman niya ang gusto kong mangyari. I opened my eyes and noticed how his chest heaved. Kumawala ang braso niya sa pagkakrus nito at lumapit sa akin.

"I'll stay here with you, Eli, until tomorrow morning, and we will go straightly to Pampanga," he uttered softly.

My heart throbbed in a good way. Naramdaman ko ang mga braso niyang dahan-dahan bumalot sa akin at niyakap ako. I felt him kissing my forehead while gently caressing my hair.

Nang gumabi na, dito na siya nagpalipas ng gabi. He slept at the guest room. Pinakuha rin niya ang iilang gamit niya pati na rin ang dadahiln niya para sa Pampanga bukas.

Kinaumagahan tinulungan niya akong mag-impake ng mga dadalhin para sa resort nila. Tomorrow is the Christmas Eve, we will stay there until 27th just as how Tita Kathy planned. Ngayon ang byahe namin papuntang Pampanga gaya ng sinabi niya kagabi para ipagdiriwang ang pasko.
